I absolutely love customization options the Magenta offers!! But the only deal breaker for me is the no OCTAGON gate option. I'm kind of curious why Paradise Arcade didn't include the ability to switch gates? The software is so versatile, but limiting the hardware options is kind of a bummer. At first glance, it seems the Magenta's sensors and magnetic actuator system could support an Octagon gate? Was it only excluded from the first run to minimize cost to make an additional mold and to gauge community interest?? Hopefully Magenta 2.0 will add Octagon option, and ability to use pre-existing parts like over sized-actuators. AWESOME video and break down as usual!!

Isn't this pointless? To change it too much would ruin it if you're on the other side of the character.. only advantage I notice is the faster movement by moving everything closer to the middle.
everyone has different preferences. I personally don't use this in my main sticks for fighters. but its nice to have. some games such as SHMUPS its cool to have a setting for to be able to move with mimimal travel.
No, and yes. You can mod something like a 309 MJ to have the Magenta working on it. Would just need to have someone do it for you or mod it yourself. I don’t know the exact details, but Butteroj’s made like one or two of em.

I feel like your stick wont center properly. At 7 minutes it looks like it's cleared up. Are your springs worn out? Can you show us a calibration to see if clears that up? Did you disassemble it while it was still on?
You're spot on. I swapped the spring to a standard spring (came shipped with a 3lb) and I didn’t calibrate before making the video. PAS brought it to my attention after the fact.

you do know that you can mod switches and move them inside the stick right? and that is legal, this is the same thing but just makes it super easy. and you wont have to change switches when they brake
That will never work, do you think other tournament for other games work like that? do you think pro players in CSGO would accept that you have to use some other keyboard and mouse then they like? no they would not accept that. If you think some controller is overpowered then get it yourself, it was like when the hitbox first came out and pepole freaked out about it, so silly.
This video is about A JOYSTICK FOR A FIGHTING GAME, It is my opinion that both players in a fighting game tournament should use the same controller. As a real arcade machine would be that's all. I think that having programmable switches in a stick to change the default command setting programmed by the developer is cheating when playing in a tournament. Hitboxes are not the same thing, if someone wanted to use one in a tournament that could be agreeable. I know that players get sponsored and that there are teams that use different gear. I am only saying that each player using the same stick (or hitbox) will give no player an advantage. And then it comes down to who is better on the day. You are also entitled to your opinion. I appreciate your point of view and discussion on this topic. THANKYOU =)

Don’t you just need that Magenta Link Base to get it to work? I’m running a Magenta with the old version of the Link fine with the Otto V2.

Yes it was approved for tournament play. The magenta is just a level, it can be installed in any fightstick for any console or pc.

You’d need both an analogue stick as well as a pcb that accepts analog inputs.

I had a tekken player friend come by and test it. After swapping the spring to a 2lb one and messing with the dead zone he was Kdashing like a champ.
