Nice job! I must admit that these recipes are a lot healthier than I expected them to be (I suspected a lot of oil and salt). I also have a suggestion you may like: When making soups like this I like to take 2 cups steamed cauliflower + 1/2 cup raw cashews + 3 cups vegetable stock + 1/2 cup nutritional yeast and puree it in a blender. It makes a wonderful vegan "cream" base with a TON of flavor. It really takes soups like this to the next level!

FILIPINO FOOD PLEASE!!! Our culture mainly relies on animal produce for recipes and main dishes. There is not a lot of veggie options. (usually veggie is jusr a side dish or a garnish and not the main show) Veganism is almost nonexistent. I definitely had a challenge goin vegan because of this. It would be super interesting to see what you come up with! you will also have a lot of fun as most of our dishes are savory and if you haven't tried any Filipino rice cakes OMG you are missing half of yo life girl!

Sorry for a second comment but have you ever considered Asian food? I love Japanese, Chinese, & Vietnamese food, but I'm actually Filipino & it's SO hard to make Filipino food because EVERYTHING has fish sauce & it's so hard to find something vegan to give it that similar taste.

So you want a salty seasoning that tastes like a fish but isn't made from fish?

    • @juliejunkyardx
      @juliejunkyardx 5 лет назад +17

I've seen vegan fish sauce at larger Asian markets. I bought some (and some vegan oyster sauce)- it's made with fermented mushrooms and seaweed, but essentially tastes the same! If you have any Asian supermarkets near you it'd be worth a shot. If not, I've seen lots of recipes for it floating around.

TBH the temperature is a bit high but its okay they came out crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and very dry and bland just using salt. i don't have the mat she has but they turn out just as good w/out it. I made it again (but with seasoning this time) with Himalayan pink ( regular salt is fine) , cracked black pepper french fries seasoning, and some fresh rosemary and I tossed it and extra virgin olive oil and baked it for 35 minutes @ 425 I flipped mine halfway through they turned out perfect

Good luck! I myself am trying to transition into being a pescetarian in 2018. I'm going to cut out red meat starting on New Year's and then on June 1st cut out poultry. So, I'll be a pollo-pescetarian and then a full blown pescetarian. I found I like a lot of vegan foods even though I will still be consuming milk and eggs. Vegan curry is the best! 😋

Can you do middle eastern soon? I’m half Turkish and we’re going to turkey in the summer and no one else is vegan and they all think I️ have some kind of disease because I’m vegan and I’d like to have some vegan middle eastern recipes to show them so they can see how easy and awesome it is to be vegan!!💞

Oh my gosh! Middle Eastern food is seriously one of my favorites and it's so easy to make it vegan. Falafel and tabbouleh are some of my staples. Baba ganoush and Fattoush are amazing. I know the food can change depending on where you're going exactly. However, those are some really good staples. Hope this helps!

Indian food! I don't care if it's budget friendly. It just has to taste delicious and authentic Indian food.

SAME. I'm so glad I'm not alone. It was so disgusting. People who say that nutritional yeast taste like cheese have forgotten what cheese tastes like

You can also make dairy free cheese sauce a more "traditional" way with a roux, using plant based milk and vegan cheese instead of dairy :)

What does the tahini add to the macaroni recipe? Does it just make it more creamy?

Loved these! Hey, I bought silicone mats and can someone tell me, is it just me or does the food taste strange like, silicone mat-y when it comes out the oven? Or does that go away after a while and I just need to ware them in? Or did I get the wrong ones?

I'm so going to make the mac and cheese! All I need to grab from the store is some nutritional yeast, a potato, and the noodles, then I'm good to go! I think I might add peas to it too :) thank you for some awesome, simple food ideas! I may be able to get my non vegan family hooked on the mac :D haha
