@Jeff Pryce NO other team has four consecutive SB appearances. The Dolphins and Patriots had three. And other great SB teams like the Steelers, Broncos. Packers, 49ers only had two. But some had two, multiple times. The Bill's stand alone, here. Yes winning matters. But you dont have a chance to win if you dont make it to the Super Bowl. So, IMO, the Bills' four straight is the greatest SB feat.
Looking back on their roster no wonder the Bills went to 4 straight Super Bowls. Jim Kelly. HOF. James Lofton. HOF. Thurman Thomas. HOF. Andre Reed. HOF. Bruce Smith. HOF. Head Coach Marv Levy. HOF. What a freaking team! I think even Steve Tasker was considered the best on special teams, at least at the time. Any other HOF'ers on the Bills? Can't remember them all.
9:50 Funny that Raiders DC said "we have to score with these guys, we can't expect to control the ball and keep them off the field", and then the Giants did exactly that a week later.
They should've won against the Giants. It was theirs and then...wide right. The other 3 SBs, well, those were just pathetic. Buffalo got killed in them and didn't deserve a W.
if you ever wanted to know what it's like to get hit head on by a freight train you just witnessed it. Unbelieveable performance by the whole Bills team. I was at this game and watching it again brings back the chills just like being at the old Rich Stadium. There was nothing that could match the rumbling of that stadium when the Bills were on a roll. Never experienced anything quite the same ever since. A shame they couldn't carry the momentum to win the big one this season. Still one of the best teams of all time though.
You knew after that opening drive that the Raiders had absolutely no chance of winning this game. That was about as perfect a drive as any team could imagine.
This is my first time seeing this game, I was pounding Sand in Kuwait for this game, thank you for putting this on youtube !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though we lost 4 bowls, I bet it would of been 4 wins if Upper management didn't get in the way of play calling after the half. All 4 bowls the Bills were beating the opposing team until after the half. Upper management made Kelly go to the normal offense changing the game entirely.
This is a tough game to watch if you're a Raider fan. I remember watching this game in absolute horror. It just kept getting worse. A complete nightmare.
The 90 team goes down as one of the greatest teams of all time if not for a horrible game plan by Marv Levy and the retainment of that bozo as their field goal kicker.
DryAssChicken Kinda like them Bills with Joe Furgeson before Kelly ? I'd dare say my Pats were relevant in the early mid 80's under Grogan...making the SB 5 years before Buffalo. Even in the 70's losing to a Raiders team in the Divisinal in 76 that we CRUSHED. Y'all sound like new fans who think they know the Patriots history, but don't even know the Bills.
I remember after this beat down, I was really hoping for a Buffalo Super Bowl win, especially when later in the day, the 49ers lost to the Giants. I was so heartbroken a week later when Norwood missed that kick.
Other than the birth of my children and getting married these AFC Championship home games were the best days of my life. Unforgettable memories being there.
I picked the Raiders to win this game but was not enthusiastic about it. I knew the Bills could beat the Raiders but did not see this level of beatdown coming. If the Bills had found a way to beat the Giants the following week, I think they would have won multiple Super Bowls. Everyone was down on them for losing four straight Super Bowls when it happened, but that is an accomplishment none of the greats have been able to pull off, winning four straight conference championships. We may never see that again, with free agency being what it is.
The Bills should have beat that Giants team. Hostetler was a good QB, but he was a backup that season and the Giants were overly reliant on the run game. Also getting BTFOd by Mark Rypien and the Redskins was lame. I can forgive the Bills for losing 2X to the Cowboys, that was a dynasty.
+Lindsey Summers Free agency, teams just picking up and moving. Outrageous ticket prices. Owners not caring about decades loyal fans, last but not least these ugly U.S.F.L. uniforms destroyed football.
@@kellymarshall8878 Thurman Thomas doesn't fumble on the 3rd play of the second half of Super Bowl XXVIII when they had a 13-6 lead, they continue to wear down the Dallas defense and score more points and win that Super Bowl. They had beaten the NFC East during the 93 season.

I was there. End zone seats. It got to the point where we didn't even bother to stand and cheer for the last couple of scores. Just wanted the game over so we could get out of the cold.
This game makes me wonder how the game would have turned out had Bo Jackson not had his career ended the week before against the Bengals. Maybe he makes the score 51-10 or 51-17? Who knows.
The game would have been a lot closer had Bo Jackson played. Would not have to rely on Schroeder passing the ball and throwing INTs. Jackson had 77 yards on only 6 carries the week before against the Bengals, that's a game changing player.
I'm a Bills fan. The way old ass Anderson ran all over us in the SB. Bo would have made it a lot closer. We were soft on D. Not good at stopping the run. We had the lead early and didn't have to worry about teams running and beating us up like the Giants did. Even though we had the big names like Bruce, Bennett and Conlan. Bruce was the only D linemen who was good against the run. Playing in a 3-4 our olb were light and not stout against the run. Jeff Wright was probably one of the worst dt/nt against the run. That's why The Giants ran it down our throat and win the time of possession game.. They were built for speed and rushing the passer. Just like those Colts teams of 2000 to 2010. Polian believed in this style. You see how those teams fared in the playoffs.
you're 100% correct. This is why we lost those 4 super bowls, #1 because Levy got outcoached, and #2 because we got beat in the trenches by those beastly ass NFC East teams that had maulers up front on both sides of the ball. A decent kicker wins us the first one against the Giants, but those two against Dallas and the one against the Skins we got killed at the point of attack, even had Thurman so rattled he was fumbling, forgetting his helmet, the whole nine lmao.
The Raiders weren't this bad. It was just a snowball effect. They actually played Buffalo very well the other four times the two played, winning two of those games and losing another after being up 27-14 in the 4th quarter. But this...this was Buffalo at its apex. This team would've given San Francisco, Dallas, the Giants and Washington trouble. They just never could replicate this level of performance in the biggest game.
Really? I bet if they somehow got another QB as good {or even half as good} as Kelly they'd start winning again. It's not a coincidence that they've had multiple top rush attacks and defenses in this drought but never once had even a top 15-20 pass attack in it. QB's control games and w/o a decent one your squad is nothing
I remember watching the Bills during this era-1988-1994-thinking that I should enjoy this as it may not happen again for a long long time--little did I know that 17 years from the last time the Bills made the playoffs (1999) they still have returned to the post season-and likely won't for some time yet to come
Raiders fan here, down low periods suck. For us, it was 2003-2014. Then we become a Super Bowl contender and Carr goes down. But Carr is young and the Raiders should be good for a long time.
@@Brendan-Black I'm not sure anymore-very very angry that Leslie Frazier wasn't fired--that meltdown in KC with 13 seconds left was inexcusable--the Bills defense was overrated-their schedule wasn't actually that hard--and when it counted (games against Tennessee and Indianapolis) they couldn't stop the run. Frazier wasn't offered a HC job because of this game and the fact he was a bust when he was HC with the Vikings--the Bills schedule next year includes the Rams/Bengals/Chiefs--let's see what Frazier does then--if they fold-he should be fired

I'm surprised Norwood wasn't cut after missing what would have been the winning FG in the Super Bowl. I'm sure he thinks about that to this day 28 years later.
He misses and they say his long for the year was only a 49 yarder. And he attempted a 47 yarder to win the Super Bowl, right at the edge of his range. I blame coaching. The Bills should have tried to get closer.
The 1990-1993 Buffalo Bills were a dynamic and ultra talented team loaded with future Hall of Fame players. Can't understand why they didn't win at least one out of 4 appearances.
Parcells was a genius nobody had an answer for this bills team. Everybody thought buffalo would beat the giants by like 20 points. This was an amazing buffalo team and after this game I thought they were gonna easily beat the giants, but the giants found a way to shut down that offense, and they were the only team to solve that offense.

Jesus is Lord I am a Servant lmao. Green Bay has never hosted a super bowl game. Wtf are you taking about.
@@jesuslovesyou1702 It's usual too cold up there in winter to have a Superbowl in Buffalo lol, no way they were going to send teams there for a Superbowl... The Giants also were a cold weather team with a great running game so I don't know about it would have been a wrap if they played there, they were used to that weather as well. If you are talking the Redskins or Dallas though the proceeding years forget it, they had no shot in those Superbowls and never were in any of those games. NY was their best shot and they lost at the end obviously on the miss. That was the one to get..........
@Randall Denison Yep, that usually comes up when they mention the Bills and it's true.
Randall Denison 20-19 and missing a field to win it at the end is getting slaughtered?
Make the Bills Great Again
Most teams don't even get back
@Jeff Pryce NO other team has four consecutive SB appearances.
They are 3-0 right now better then my bum giants .

that's right. Another great player. Cornelius. What a talent
Peter Skilj Steve Tasker too for special teams
I don't think Reed was ever inducted.
Reed was inducted in 2014.

The Bills' finest hour.
Let's go Buffalo!

Yup, I was 12 and it was amazing but also heart breaking…especially the first Super Bowl.
@@REDSHlFTman that first SB. I cried for a week straight lol
9:50 Funny that Raiders DC said "we have to score with these guys, we can't expect to control the ball and keep them off the field", and then the Giants did exactly that a week later.
Opening drive PERFECTION!!!
Great as this team was, its hard to believe they'd go to 4 straight super bowls and come up empty.
They should've won against the Giants. It was theirs and then...wide right. The other 3 SBs, well, those were just pathetic. Buffalo got killed in them and didn't deserve a W.
Turnovers always killed them in the SB
Redskins and Cowboys were better.
Kelly later said that the Redskins team was the best he ever played. They must have been fantastic considering how good those Cowboys teams were.
if you ever wanted to know what it's like to get hit head on by a freight train you just witnessed it. Still one of the best teams of all time though.
thank you #NFL for showing this #NFLClassics
I have been a Buffalo Bills football fan for 30 years.Very proud of the team.
I’m sorry.
You knew after that opening drive that the Raiders had absolutely no chance of winning this game. That was about as perfect a drive as any team could imagine.
Wow, some of the most loyal fans in all sports, let alone the NFL. Not an empty seat in that stadium, even at the end. Incredible.
I was becoming a big Raiders fan after they moved to LA and I'll never forget them going to Buffalo and losing 51 to 3. 51 to 3.

Same here.....as a life-long Raiders fan this was the worst game I ever saw....I've never been able to re-watch it.
At least it was relatively quick. That K-Gun offense was like lightning.
@@dcbandnerd better a quick death than a lingering one. Agreed.
Even though the BILLS couldn't win the Super Bowl they were still rock solid in those days and one of the greatest teams ever
The 90 team goes down as one of the greatest teams of all time if not for a horrible game plan by Marv Levy and the retainment of that bozo as their field goal kicker.
Darryl Talley’s shirt with the spiderweb sleeve would be a uniform violation with a fine today.
A time and era where they weren't afraid and bullied by the Patriots
Its FaDed No, they still don't put up enough points to keep up against a mediocre defense

Kinda like them Bills with Joe Furgeson before Kelly ?
I'd dare say my Pats were relevant in the early mid 80's under Grogan...making the SB 5 years before Buffalo. Even in the 70's losing to a Raiders team in the Divisinal in 76 that we CRUSHED.
Y'all sound like new fans who think they know the Patriots history, but don't even know the Bills.
C S the pats didn't become consistent until Bledsoe was drafted. He, Curtis Martin and Parcels was a great combination during the 90s

LOL, I think the Patriots were 1-15 in 1990. This was a decade before Brady and Belichick too.
I remember after this beat down, I was really hoping for a Buffalo Super Bowl win, especially when later in the day, the 49ers lost to the Giants. I was so heartbroken a week later when Norwood missed that kick.

Here after Buffalo beat Baltimore
I was 8 and this game was when I fell in love with football. Go Bills!
I was stuck in a midtown Manhattan office doing transcription for $12 an hour so I couldn't even listen to the first half. I go outside and I hear "But it won't matter..." Score was 41-3 I had 50 on Buffalo was very happy.
I wish Bill Walsh called more games. Great to hear his input.
I just saw a game after this season with him coaching Stanford University and beating notre dame and did he ever comeback to the TV booth after that?
@@ericsigersmith2831 He did the 91 AFC championship the next year.
Wow! You're in dreamland. It's good to be a fan, but not irrational.
What's irrational about the truth. Explain yourself or do you even know what I was getting at.
you're 100% correct.
I bet If the Bills went back to the red helmets they might start winning again
I agree , the Bills should go back to the red helmets
@@jimijakjones99 No way. They made the playoffs last year with the white helmets.

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are on their way up. Super Bowl bound by 2023 or 2024. Bank it.

Norwood misses wide right. Foreshadowing?
I'm surprised Norwood wasn't cut after missing what would have been the winning FG in the Super Bowl. I'm sure he thinks about that to this day 28 years later.
He was almost, he had one more season and then Christie came and Norwood was out
He misses and they say his long for the year was only a 49 yarder. And he attempted a 47 yarder to win the Super Bowl, right at the edge of his range. I blame coaching. The Bills should have tried to get closer.
@@gavvino1 Yeah, 47 yards is no chip shot for any kicker.
