For those that don't understand how Giorno turned his hand (organic) into a piranha: It was severed by Baby Face, who turned it into an object in that same moment Giorno turned it into a Piranha. It was more clear in the manga this time.
Despite not being able to heal the user, Josuke's Crazy Diamond is still the superior Stand when healing allies. The restoration happens in seconds with just a touch while Giorno needs time to create parts and let them attach. Josuke can heal others in the thick of battle with just a touch but Giorno requires a little breathing room to do his own healing. Also Giorno can't restore someone from being blown to smithereens.

Lmao and people say Giorno is a gary stu who wins all his fights with trying but yet here he is trying to call the rest of the gang to help because hes just straight up outmatched and doesn't think he can win. Then after all that struggle and having no other choice than to do or die he figures out a new way to use his ability to heal himself. This isn't even the only fight where Giorno has to struggle like this either so I wonder if they really watched part 5 if they actually think that.
i think a lot of people don't understand the dynamics at play in golden wind. they see bruno being more of a traditional joestar type and don't stop to think about what it means that giorno is quite different from that type. People also say that the part doesn't explore enough the connection to Dio, but it's all completely about this idea of "what if Dio was a person who tried to lift noble people up rather than tear them down".
You say that, but Giorno kinda managed to not only figure out how the opponents Stand works, but also managed to incorporate that information into his own Stand’s ability. All within seconds, while on death’s door. The Gary Stu argument is kinda valid. Granted, it isn’t something that only applies to him. Literally any other character in that situation would’ve died. Giorno only survived because he must have a supercomputer running in his brain at all times, especially if you think about how complicated his Stand is in the first place. Because it isn’t enough to just recreate a missing body part, like making a new eye and just popping it back into the socket. He needs to understand how the body functions down to the most minute detail AND know exactly which part of his body was missing in the first place without being able to see his own body like that, while recreating the missing body part and somehow reattaching it so it can serve its original function again. And this man figured all of this out within seconds, while he was dying. And he’s not a Gary Stu? Okay.

If he actually had to know down to the DNA of anything to know how to create life, he'd be totally useless since he isn't Jotaro: he's not a scientist. It's similar to how DIO wasn't even aware that he had stopped time the first time he activated the ability. It's more than anything something the stand does on the behalf of the user, similar to how you don't have to understand derivatives for your calculator to get the perfect result.
