    I seen a infographic in an Asian language on the sleep discord that has the level 60 ingredient slider showing all the pokemons expected count for each ingredient. That infographic clearly identifies the level 60 meta and they also have a level 30 infographic

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  2 месяца назад +1

      I'll take a look at it, but the ingredient rate only finalized in the last 48 hours. Not sure how accurate any older infographic would be.

  • @Nemosaur
    @Nemosaur 2 месяца назад +5

    In all honestly, ingredient pokemon are already a challenge to get right (compared to berry/skill specialists). There's gacha for nature. There's gacha for subskills. Then for ingredient pokemon, there's gacha for ingredient list too.
    Realistically speaking, it can take weeks if not months to encounter a mono ingredient mon. Even if you do, the odds of it having good subskills and nature are an added level/layer to the RNG. The 1/9 chance gets worse. So the question is: will you starve till you get that perfect mon OR will you work with dual ingredient mons till you find the perfect mono ingredient mon? If you choose to starve, you might miss some of the best dishes. If you work with dual ingredient mons, by the time you get that perfect mono ingredient mon, your dual ingredient mons would probably be capped and at peak performance.
    You argue that mono ingredients can handle any new recipes the game comes up with. There is no doubt about it and I agree with this. But what about new pokemon? What if after many months cacao starving, you find the dream Absol with mono cacao and then they launch a new pokemon that also does cacao at level one only way better than Absol. What now?
    I don't think there's anything wrong with ABB or ABA or AAB to give a major and minor ingredient or even leaving ingredient mons in your team (especially if they have Helping Bonus or BFS or Ingredient Magnet S). Yes, you will have to play tetris with the ingredient mons to match the dishes but that's half the fun!
    To conclude what I am saying is, even though they are awesome, we should not pedestalise mono ingredient mons. Because they too can get power creeped by future mons to come.
    I really enjoy your analysis and the content in general. Watching almost everyday haha
    Keep up the good stuff!!

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  2 месяца назад +2

      Your point seems to suggest that mono ingredient pokemon must have as good subskills & nature as other pokemon. Mono ingredient itself to me is already a really good stat because mono means you already farm 20-80% more of the ingredient that you actually need compared to non-mono. It doesn't need as good other stats (sub skills & nature) to be ready to invest.
      I briefly mentioned if you use a mixed ing specialist, it is possible for it to be as good as mono, but you really have to have near perfect stats. See the apple comparisons I gave where ABA Fuecoco is the second best ing list, yet farms less apples than Pinsir. A single wrong ingredient almost renders Fuecoco useless.
      Absol was already mentioned to be hard to find and I said to leave the cacao problem with Blastoise, but I cannot remove Absol from the mono list at this stage, because it's the best at L30 for cacao hands down (may not be at L60). Even if you just go for AAX it's fine to have a L30 Absol for the mean time. I also left Blastoise with cacao in the honorary mentions in the bottom half of the graphic, and that had always been there. This is not a new discussion. I suggested multiple resolutions: get a mono milk Blastoise + a secondary L30 cacao Blastoise in the mean time while you hunt mono cacao, or wait for another ingredient Pokemon that can do cacao, or supplement with berry specialist that can do cacao (meganium). These are all alternative/supplementary solutions to the issue at hand. And as new ingredient specialists are being released, we are seeing less and less supposed issues with mono ingredient. Potato and apple both got L1 release with cheap catches (5 pips only), allowing us to move towards true mono ingredient build for every ingredient. Moving away from ABB Victreebel and Pinsir is a good thing long term. And Absol being power creeped in the future is also only a good thing. If you can't get a good one, use one of the solutions I suggested.

      @JefferVescent357 2 месяца назад +1

      This is pretty much exactly the philosophy I follow with ingredient Pokémon, especially as f2p. Yes, the mono ingredient meta makes sense and is resilient, but just like @Nemosaur said, part of the fun is tetris-ing out the party. I’m not always going to get the exact ingredients I need to make the same max level recipe 21 times a week, but I’m leveling up three or four good recipes (overheat ginger salad, etc.) that make use of a variety of ingredients.

    • @Nemosaur
      @Nemosaur 2 месяца назад +2

      @@Bropenings OH! Not needing good subskills/nature on a mono ingredient is a good concept. It removes the extra layer of gacha.
      So would mono ingredients with average subskills/nature would work just as well as ABB/ABA/AAB/AAC with good subskill/nature? Ofc mono ingredients with good subskill/nature will be the highest tier. But what about mono ingredient with bad/subskill/nature? Would it be safe to say that a mono ingredient with ingredient down nature and no ingredient subskills IS indeed unusable? Can I please make a video request for numbers and/or a tier list for this?
      There's a 1/9 chance to get a mono ingredient pokemon. Since Subskill/Nature are random, let's say there's a 1/3 chance for each bad/average/good. Your chance of landing,
      Usable Mono Ingredient pokemon = 1/9 * 2/3 = 2/27 = 1/13.5 = 7.4% chance
      Unusable Mono Ingredient pokemon = 1/9 * 1/3 = 1/27 = 3.7% chance
      So technically your chance of getting a usable mono ingredient pokemon is 1/13.5, not a direct 1/9.
      Or maybe I am wrong and even mono ingredients with bad subskills/nature are still pretty viable?
      I hope I don't come off to be difficult/annoying about this. I am trying to figure out a trajectory for other players and myself. I am going to use the ABB, ABA, AAB, AAC mons I have while passively searching for the mono ingredient mons. If I get them, good. If I don't, I can still use my existing mons.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  2 месяца назад +1

      @Nemosaur yes that's a concept for another video I had planned following this one.
      One way to think about it is:
      How good does ABA have to be to beat AAA? Use production comparison and see.
      In some cases ABA needs HB+IF up to beat AAA for ingredient A. I would say HB+IF up is pretty damn good to start so do we really need every other best stat?
      But becareful analysing L60. You'd assume you can hit L60 straight away to see the results (another reason for AAA is beginners don't need to worry for hitting L60 in one go). Also it's not a known stat yet. Does it actually have 1/3rd drop rate vs first 2 slots?

    • @Nemosaur
      @Nemosaur 2 месяца назад +1

      @@Bropenings Yeah, the drop rate is a very good question.
      I was just running the numbers on Raenonx. I have two pokemon
      1 - Mono tomato Mr Mime. IFS@10, HSS@25, STS@50, SLS@75, InvUpS@100. Gentle.
      2 - tomato-tomato-leek Victrebel. STM@10, HB@25, IFM@50. Hardy.
      I was thinking if it makes sense to leave a pokemon between 50 and 59 to just farm the AA ingredients and use it kinda like a mono ingredient mon. Because the Victrebel at lvl50 gives about 95 tomatoes, whereas the Mr Mime at lvl100 gives 89 tomatoes.
      edit: Also, if AAA is S tier. I think ABB is the A tier. ABA would be B tier. But then again, if you keep AAB/AAC between 50~59, they can function like a mono ingredient; so hard to put this one in a direct tier. I would love to see this mentioned in the video :D

    Milk and Potato most often go together in curries. So given that the 1 in 9 chance is so difficult to farm, a mixed good Sprigatito isn't so bad as say a mixed good Fuecoco (apple and sausage almost never go together). Similarly Quaxly's soy and leek does work for the higher end dishes (which are the ones we focus on). So I think a mono Fuecoco is the biggest target from the update?

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  2 месяца назад +2

      Thats one way to think about it. Ultimately it depends on what your needs are, and I'm only generalising for an ideal build.
      Note that quaxly is mono for both leek and beans. Because no one can do L1 leek.
      However, "balanced" farming on mixed ingredient pokemon is problematic as you've ignored all the ingredient productions from berry and skill pokemon that changes week to week and those ingredients would be worth more if they just match recipe instead of as extra.
      Mono doesn't care about what ingredients berry/skill mons are producing and will give you only what you need then move out of the way. Thereby it enables berry pokemon's ingredients to be used to match recipe too.

      Ttar is over 20% better than Kanga at ginger farming. Kanga also harder to get candies both from research and from friends. It'll be an uphill battle raising kanga but if you got a great one, then it frees up ttar to not be mono (maybe do some beans?). I personally still prefer to make mono ginger ttar because it's that good. Your Kanga can be a secondary option if for some reason ttar has a bad healing day (unlikely).

    So it's not worth it to raise ingrediant farmers that are favorite berry even if they aren't the best at the ingredient? I was wondering if it might be strategic to have a skeledirge thats got one sausage just incase that'll be useful on a new ghost island, since there arent ghost types that have sausage. but I guess I'm just trying to cope cause the best fuecoco i've found is BFS with apple-apple-sausage, havent seen any with mono apple.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  2 месяца назад +1

      BFS will nerf the ingredient production in some situations. On top of that if you have sausage at L60 your apple farming essentially halved. Unless your plan is to never run mono sausage charizard maybe that's OK.
      I would prefer to prepare ingredient specialists who can go to any island. They rotate into the team only based on the 3 dish types we can roll and not worry about island berry. Even with BFS they just don't farm as much as BFS berry specialists. So if they can do the right ingredient amounts, it'll save you time to put a berry specialist back on the team.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  2 месяца назад +1

      To prepare 8 AAB ingredient specialists (1 for every ingredient) for every island to match berry would probably take even longer than hunting mono ingredient. And isn't better than rotating back in a BFS berry specialist imo. Gotto check the numbers on that though. I don't personally see the value.

    I want to make sure I understand something mentioned at the beginning. You say that the matching ingredients can be worth up to 300% when you use it as an extra incredient. Is this new? Because in the past my extra ingredients are only worth their base amount, and it still shows that way on the Raenonx calculator. I tend to focus on getting ingredient farmers for the favored berry of each island unless I don’t have them- why is it worse to get a comfey for corn on cyan than using the bewear when it’s not favored berry?

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  2 месяца назад +1

      The reason why Comfey is not a clear winner even at CB is that Bewear would finish farming corn quicker than Comfey, then you can switch to a real berry specialist that matches favorite and has BFS earlier like Feraligatr, Dodrio or Clefable. Certainly 3 berries with IF down on these Pokemon would be better than Comfey who does 1-2 berries only (note: BFS harming its ingredient output if inventory is reached) and you want IF up, which means less berries per period of time. Comfey isn't giving you enough berries if you have great ingredient stats and no BFS.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  2 месяца назад +1

      It's not saying Comfey is bad for CB, but if you need 1 corn farmer for CB, and 1 corn farmer in all other areas, that's a more expensive hunt and heavier investment overall, even more than just doing a mono ingredient build.

    I have to rescind my comment that was a bit negative towards mono ing lists a while back. I still maintain that it's difficult to find every mon with the correct list, but once you do it is really quite strong. Not wasting helps on filler ingredients is a massive boost in efficiency overall so rotating ing mons is a huge part of optimal play in the current meta.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  2 месяца назад +2

      Very good question. Because of the difficulty of getting mono ingredient, I normally accept anything that has at least 2 good subskills or nature. E.g. A combination of some speed + ingredient finding up before L50.
      In some special cases where the berry output can nearly match a berry specialist like Dragonite, it is acceptable to me to have BFS + speed instead of IF. Due to IF reducing berry output, BFS is actually harmed, but speed boosts both berry and ingredient.

  • @rynjrczk
    @rynjrczk 2 месяца назад +2

    is there an argument for best ingredient finder according to island and dish? like golem is the better beans farmer, but what if you’re on cyan beach and need beans, wouldn’t quaquaval be a better option due to berry preference? may be a cool video showing how different ingredient specialists that farm the same ingredient are better than the other depending on the island?

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  2 месяца назад +4

      There is, but it's a very weak argument. Several considerations to make this argument:
      1 - BFS is needed on that ingredient specialist to make it doubly as good at that area to even be worth this consideration to begin with. Just like BFS is needed on a berry specialist to make it good when matching the berry. But BFS nerfs the ingredient output if you don't collect quick enough, so you just lost some strength from what that Pokemon is supposed to be good at doing. This is especially harmful in areas not matching favorite berry you subsequently need to go to. So investing an ingredient specialist based on its berry restricts its usage to only 1 island, weakening its ability to produce in other islands.
      I'm not saying BFS is a bad skill, it just depends on how often you want to open the game. But BFS has fallen out of favor for ingredient specialists with many long term players because of this problem.
      2 - If you get the ingredients quicker, you can rotate out the ingredient specialist and switch for a BFS berry specialist anyway who does more berry output than an ingredient specialist with BFS. So what was the point of having BFS on the ingredient specialist?
      3 - If you simply match the berry and not the ingredient, say, you're at Beach but it's desserts and you actually dont need beans, you're just better of using another berry specialist that matches favourite berry (Ferligatr, Dodrio, Clefable...) or even consider a generalist skills specialist like Ampharos/Golduck. Heck, sometimes my berry specialist matches the recipe.

    The mono ingredient meta is very, very powerful for sure. You really get to use every last ingredient to its maximum potential, but I think that promoting it as the only way to play the game and stating that ingredient mons that don't have a mono ingredient list arr not even worth investing into no matter their list is a dangerous statement. The mono ingredient meta is only better if you manage your pokemon a lot. Producing balanced proportions of different ingredients can be nice for someone who just opens the app now and then to collect some ingredients that they can use. It's more casual, yea, but for a game that is more casual, I don't think we should be telling everybody that they should only be doing mono ingredients.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  2 месяца назад +1

      If you're casual, mono works even better. "Balanced" farming on mixed ingredient pokemon is problematic as you've ignored all the ingredient productions from berry and skill pokemon that changes week to week. Mono doesn't care about what ingredients berry/skill mons are producing and will give you only what you need. You don't need to switch out at all if you feel that's bothersome. Just change them once a day. If you happen to over-farm one ingredient you can use them for the next recipe which is the same dish anyway.
      Mixed ingredient will always have some unused ingredients that must be used as extras or sold. Even casuals would find this problematic.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  2 месяца назад +1

      Example:
      If dragonite farms you exact ratio of recipe ingredients for corn & herb, say, keema curry, then any corn from gardevoir or herb from typhlosion are just extra ingredients when they could've been used as recipe matched ingredients if you run mono.
      Mono actually enables greater power output from the ingredients in other specialities.
      If a casual doesn't care to calculate these numbers and just want to cook whatever they can from whats available, that's totally fine. None of these strategy/min-max/informative videos matter to begin with.

      The matching of specific dishes to mixed ingredients can change, and has changed several times in the past.
      Did you play the game from before corn dishes dropped? Players who saw the release of corn dishes suffered the great shift. At the start of the game, Dream Eater Butter Curry utilized Blastoise + Victreebel both being mixed AB ingredients, had the best combo to complete that dish. This curry has now been power creeped totally by Keema Curry, and recently slightly creeped by Ninja Curry. The AB Blastoise + AB Victreebel combo, while it was fine for DEB Curry, are now no longer as useful. Not to mention the moment you go Salad or Dessert weeks you'll be struggling to get only tomato or only milk as you need them.
      Not to mention Ninja Curry was a rework of the ingredients ratio. If you had got the perfect ratio on a Pokemon for Ninja Curry before, you're now screwed for the same recipe.
