    First LOL!
    I am hoping OpenCore Legacy Patcher will let you install Ventura on anything you could already patch to Monterey.
    I see no reason why they wouldn't!
    Again, don't get a 2011, not only is it not Metal Capable, it's also known to fail!
    2GB of RAM is up to Catalina despite what Apple says.
    Again, you can patch 2006 any Intel GMA 950/X3100 graphics equiped Mac to Mountain Lion, and Mavericks for Radeon X1300/X1600/X1900.
    I believe Mavericks does have a few issues but I don't have one to test, but Mountain Lion is 100% working for sure!
    With a proper browser these can still browse modern websites fine as long as you have a Core 2 Duo (if you have a Core Duo upgrade is needed to even run Mountain Lion through a patch since Snow Leopard is latest 32 bits), and 2GB of RAM. It will play RUclips, it will do stuff. So not just a vintage thing!
    If you have a Core 2 Duo I wouldn't go further than Catalina. It was a big no no for Chrome but the problem is gone since some Chrome update!
    Office still affected but you can just disable updates and do the terminal fix!

I want to learn to make a newsgroup reader and some games. Hallo!
    Tolle Videos hast du übrigens!

    I have iMac Late 2006 and I used DOS Patcher to try to upgrade it past its official Lion OS to Yosemite, but that patcher bricked my iMac. Meaning it boots up to desktop sometimes or freezes during boot-up and I can't re-install an older OS due to some firmware patch problem. So I think its firmware is corrupted somehow and now this iMac is basically unusable.

      One option is Windows 10 32bit works very well with 2006 iMacs 4,1 and 5,1. Load them up with either 2 or 4gb. Oddly these computers can even run latest chrome browser. Second option is Linux mint 32bit version. Also I found 19.2 cinnamon works best too. However when it comes to macOS you're stuck with Lion as a vintage system as mentioned in the video.

    • @be236
      @be236 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@JessiesFlying I tried to install that firmware you listed above and it said something like 'this computer does not need this firmware," and I believe my iMac late 2006 already has this firmware. I tried the zap PRM three times and then again tried to install Lion and it would start to boot up to Lion installer with the white spinning screen, but then it would just lock up and freeze. I tried Mac OS X 10.4.7 DVD, Leopard, Snow Leopard and they all lock-up or freeze or give the black-screen-of-death... I think during the DOS Patcher (or was it XPostFacto) that I had to force install some GPU driver to make Yosemite work, so it might have corrupted my GPU firmware. alas
