- Soldiers' Angels volunteers hand out blankets to veteran patients in VA Hospitals and ship them to deployed service members around the world-- which means we need donations of blankets throughout the year!
If you don't sew, quilt, or crochet but want to get crafty in how you help our troops and veterans, creating a no-sew blanket is a great project for you! This simple, fun project will create a beautiful, warm, and soft blanket that our volunteers will hand out to veteran patients and ship to deployed.

I crochet - how heavy do these blankets have to be? I have made them before, for use in VA hospitals, but not for anyone who is homeless. Thank you for all that you do.
Great question! Any weight will do for the blankets. Soldiers' Angels provides blankets for homeless Veterans via VA hospitals across the country. Our team will get the heavier/warmer blankets to VA's in colder states where our homeless Veterans need as much warmth as they can get! Lighter-weight blankets will be great for southern states where winters are cold, but not quite as frigid as the north.

Are both pieces of material fleece?
Yep! Both layers are fleece. You could use two pieces of the same color/pattern, or add some color by layering two different colors/patterns.
