Great video. I was in The Villages in early March 2020 to visit my brother who purchased in Virginia Trace. Had negative ideas on the area but it is beautiful and every house and neighborhood is clean. Most villages are gated and the amenities blew me away - so much to do. Whether it’s pickle ball, tennis or swimming or the variety of group activities and clubs. There are “state” clubs like The Kentucky club that’s for Kentucky transplants in the villages who want to meet more of their home state neighbors. Music at numerous venues - prior to the Coronavirus - every night of the week! If you can afford it, it’s a nice retirement option to look into.

Underground utilities are great. No overhead wires. No poles. As the trees mature the yards won’t looks so bare. As homogeneous as theses neighborhoods appear I see the appeal of not living next door to a lazy hoarder type neighbor with multiple cars stacked up in the driveway. Keep this in mind too, for those of you with all the negative “too boring/too plain” comments: people who enjoy clean and tidy surroundings aren’t bad or boring or sad, they are busy doing other things. They aren’t home because they are at the clubhouse teaching a class, learning Italian, shooting pool, playing bridge, knitting hats for drug-addicted premies, packing their days with satisfying activities. But what they are not worrying about is if they need to add bars to their windows. Or getting a ring video doorbell to catch the neighborhood porch pirate. Or wondering about that strange unmarked van parked across the street. Bottom line: a plain and simple life is not boring, it’s liberating.

I've lived in villages on and off for 30 years. I hate living in the suburbs . I got sick of having neighbors that played loud music day and night, fighting going on between neighbors, etc. I'm never bored in a village. What neighborhood offers
free use of a swimming pool, pool room, Men's workshop fitted out with good quality power tools, a gymnasium, and nice Recreation Halls just to name a few things. I'll never go back to live in the suburbs.

Mostly uninformed people who haven't figured out what life is about and probably don't know how to save for retirement.

Dame $500,000... you're directly in the middle of the state no matter which direction you go it's going to take you two hours to get to the beach for $500,000 you could buy a huge house all screened in with a pool and hot-tub brand new 5 minutes from the beach.... when you retire you're living off Social Security which is under $2,000 a month you would think as you got older things would be cheaper for you to me these prices are outrageous..Wow I just watched the part where the houses are $800,000 the only people that can afford that are retired doctors and lawyers and Dentists...I live on Melbourne beach Florida I had a brand new house built 3500 square foot I had Blue Marlin Pools put in a huge pool and an acrylic hot -tub all screened in plus I had a six foot Shadowbox privacy fence and Hayward equipment a heater that would heat the hot tub and the pool all the upgrades you can think of for $325,000... after looking through the community it doesn't look like you're allowed to have a privacy fence.... don't forget when you live in a deed restricted community that is not free you have to pay for that every month for the privilege of living in that neighborhood you think when you get old people would cut you a break but it looks like they're taking advantage of buy younger people or greedy Developers.🤑🤑🤑🤑😤 Money- Money-Money...🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

These villages are very popular in Australia. They are called over 50's villages. My wife and I have lived in various villages for over thirty years and we prefer to live in a village rather than in the suburbs. The prices you quote are much cheaper than in Australia. The houses you show in the video is similar to the houses in Australia. Prices in Australia usually start from $ 290.000 to $350,000 and up to $500,000 for the luxury style home.

I don’t think of it as depressing at all. After all, this isn’t a community built for college students. This is a .. wait for it .. retirement community for 50 and up! Sorry to be so snarky but the sunset side of life, like the Realtor just said, can be the best part of life. Children raised, grandchildren can visit, and there are tons of things to do here. It’s time retired folks got to do something for ourselves after being a wage slave for years as well as the chief cook and bottle washer at home!😁

Wyn Naylor Pulte Gomes in Del Webb are made with concrete block and stucco and, except for roofs are hurricane resistant. 2 x4 stick homes with vinyl siding blow apart in hurricanes, even with metal reinforcement brackets on all exterior joints. The Villages homes are way overpriced for middle of nowhere lots and cheesy construction. Examine homes just as much as lifestyles. Only a small percentage of people remain active after a couple years in any active adult community. The snowbirds run wild, but full time residents basically enjoy their homes most of the time.
