  • In this video, I give an overview of my experience selling cozy self-care gifts on Zazzle, a POD (print on demand) site. Many online business experts will tout it as a great passive income opportunity, but this video gives my brutally honest perspective that will hopefully give a beginner a helpful overview of what to actually expect.

Wow, I really appreciated this video! Thank you!
I know so many Zazzle sellers who feel the way you do, but they put the “blame” on Zazzle rather than recognizing (like you do) that it’s got its quirks and if you’re going to do it you need to know what you’re getting into. 😉
Full disclosure: I sell a lot on Zazzle (it pays my mortgage and then some), and I built my Zazzle shops while being a full time high school teacher, so I completely understand the time factor issues! You are 100% correct that Zazzle takes hands-on work - at least for the first year. For me, once I knew that I wanted to really build up my Zazzle presence, I made the commitment to spend JUST 1 hour every morning doing intentional work on my stores, and then I just let myself be at peace with the fact that Zazzle is a “marathon not a sprint.” Did it take time? Yep! It took about a year of me following that same 1-hour-a-day commitment to myself, but after that things started to scale very quickly and for the last 4 years it has been a fantastic source of steady income. And I don’t spend an hour a day on it anymore! In fact, I didn’t post anything or even look at my stores in June because I was “off-grid” the whole month! My income dipped about 2%, and frankly I’d blame that more on summer sales than anything.
Anyway, I’m not a huge video commenter, but I really felt compelled to say THANK YOU for this video. I see too many people claiming Zazzle is going to be their “massive overnight success story” and it just isn’t like that. It IS a great source of income if you have the time and patience to nurture it in its “infancy.”
Also, your products are darling, so I just pinned the heck out of them! 😉 Maybe you’ll get a few more sales trickling in!

thanks for this information! I have heard of Zazzle but don't know much about it. POD sounds interesting to me generally, but I have not started that process of pursuing it.

It’s definitely an interesting way to do things! Although the fact that Zazzle takes most of the percentage can potentially be a downside when making a sale. Still, it’s fun to be able to sell multiple types of products!

Hi Kendall, I've never heard of zazzle but I am in New Zealand. Is it an international company? Anyway, good on you for giving it a go. I tried Amazon KDP but my books didn't sell. I'm a writer not a marketer. I'm late to the party but I've just realized I can use my writing skills in the youtube world. So im writing scripts and building my youtube channel. Ive just subscribed to your channel because I want to help as many small channels succeed as I possibly can.❤

Thanks so much! And I do believe Zazzle is a U.S. company but that it can have international creators. Glad to hear you’re using your writing skills in creative ways!

    Hi
Does it show total earnings at the end of the month?
Or whenever someone orders or shipment is done?
    Can you please specify??

If you have a Zazzle account, it will show you what has been purchased and what has been earned.
