You're obviously don't know a thing about football. You have to dedicate two linemen to Davis otherwise he collapses the middle of the pocket. When he draws two linemen who are solely dedicated to holding Davis so he can't get into the backfield. This creates mismatches, allowing the defense, defensive tackles, defensive ends, linebackers, and etc, to penetrate into the backfield to stop the run. Thus, they (center, guards, and offensive tackles) can't get out and create running lanes, or block for their running backs. Still here, are you getting and understanding any of this? Because, of his massive size, speed, and athleticism those players can't move, or contain him. He simply holds the dam shut. Looking in the back field to prevent running to his side. Sometimes, he just powers through and wrap the back up in the backfield himself. Despite facing double and triple teams. It's really not his role to sack the QB per'se, and this is why I know you don't really understand football. His role, is to hold the line, push the pocket and occupy as many players, as possible to create mismatches and overflow for the defense. Qb sack is gravy but not his main objective. He's there primarily to prevent the run, collapse the pocket, to help to sack the qb.. Example, if Davis pushes the pocket "left" to his left, the running back won't be able to run up the middle, Davis is there, and two of his own offensive linemen. He won't be able to run right, to the rb's right, because the left side has been pushed by Davis. So, the only place he can run is to his "left" away from Davis and the penetration. So, where would you flood the defense???? To the right side, which is why backs were averaging 2.9 yds. The defense simply flooded the the opposite side of the penetration and clean up. Well, that's your football 101 lesson today. I've tried to explain it to you like I did my 5 & 7 year old granddaughters. They got it now, hope you did too...
