So happy about this pick for the Eagles. I'm just imagining the wars Mailata and Davis will be having in practice, as well as the lessons he'll learn from Fletcher Cox. Straight iron sharpening iron.
You can tell he relies a lot on his power, size and athleticism. But he’s got good pass rushing technique too. And the way he’s able to maneuver his way to gaps to stuff runs is impressive. He’ll be a dawg in the NFL no problem.
Georgia DT Jordan Davis is a mountain of a man and that is not an exaggeration. He easily stands out any time you watched Georgia last season. man I'm here just thinking what this defense would be like if everyone stay healthy very scary this Jordan Davis is a monster mash with cox hargrove williams wow the linebackers that guy dean should be starting football I q let's get ready to rumble
Thank you Howie!!!! Some fans might not understand how great of a pick/fit this is and that's okay. People are gonna assume he's just a straight up NT and that's just not true. He'll be able to play 0 tech, 1 tech, 3 tech. and even 5 tech sometimes if they want him to. Davis will allow Hargrave and more importantly Cox (who has been slowing down... played too many snaps last year for his age) this year to play less snaps on early downs to keep them fresher to rush the passer. Davis is obviously still a work in progress as a pass rusher, because he wasn't tasked to do it a lot not cause he's incapable. He was playing at Georgia in the 350s to 360s, because Georgia didn't need him to be a pass rusher. They needed him to be a mountain of a man. They have another DT in Jalen Carter (who is projected to be a top 5 pick next year) and Devonte at a much smaller weight was a natural 3 tech. Davis knew to be the player he wants to be and to get selected highly he needed to cut weight to test great and he tested out of this world at 341 (significantly less than he was playing at Georgia) and I think he could cut even more than that with the Eagles and be in that 325-335 range and maybe be even more explosive than his absurd combine. Not only will being at a lower weight help with explosiveness which he still somehow had in the 350s to 360s, but it will help with his conditioning which wasn't the best at that higher weight. I think Cox and Hargrave are great mentors for him to help him progress as a pass rusher. Looking forward to the future Cox and Hargrave aren't under contract past this year and Davis isn't the type of player that comes along often. He wasn't some highly touted recruit coming out of HS. He was a 3 star when he came to Georgia, but he got better and better over his career there and the people inside the building rave about the kind of person and worker he is. All of that is why Jordan was one of my dream picks for the Eagles. So many Cowboys fans desperately wanted him to drop and I kept telling them I know my general manager and if Davis was on the board at 15 that he wouldn't be once the Eagles made their selection. I get trading up ahead of Baltimore to make sure you secure him and we didn't have to give up any day 2 picks to do it. Just gave up our mid 4th rounder and two of our three 5th round picks which are in the middle of that round too. We kept our highest 5th round pick.
As a chargers fan, I know Jordan Davis would be the PERFECT fit to help with our terrible run D. My only concern is his ability to stay on the field due to his lack of stamina, but honestly I think our coaches and staff can help him shed about 10-15lbs and get him in better shape💪🏾⚡️💯

Born January 12, 2000. Played high school football for the Mallard Creek Mavericks. Played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs. Drafted #13 by the Philadelphia Eagles. Hey, maybe 13 isn't such an unlucky number after all.
He makes run defense look as fun as pass rushing. The way he manhandles 300 pound interior linemen then rag dolls the qb/rb is very visually pleasing lol. Really like this pick the more I watch him. His raw athleticism leads me to believe he'll develop into a better pass rusher and when he does... whew we! Watch out!
If Jordan Davis ever actually gets down to 340lbs, he would be unblockable. He's more like 360 and the UGA coaching staff has always told him he would be at his best when under 350
This guy would be perfect on the denver broncos. This guy has quickness and strength and alot of drive. Plus hes tall. Big man needed for the denver broncos!!!
@@isaiahjones3427 Definitely Top 10 after that showing at the combine. If getting him means Grady gets 1v1s until he retires then yeah, send the ticket. ATL picked up a corner, so it seems like Stingley is def out of the question. He'd would have to set the line because we need LBers like a mfer now.
I think people focus on his size or his pure 40 yard or 10 yard split speed, but what is actually impressive is his ability to move his hips. He has a lot of natural left-right movement at his size that you see here makes it hard to defend at times. Traditionally a man that size does not have a lateral hip flow movement that clean and because of that it could make him viable as a DT in a few schemes not just as a 3 tech. He could potentially fufill a role like Red Bryant did for Seattle Seahawks years ago as well depending on how a team views his ability to seal the edge towards the side line. You can get away with pre snap changes on the line when a player can do that in the middle, and while I think he will likely need to develop more moves then his traditional bull rush in the pros to win consistently, he has again the hip movement to allow for it. He's the type of player in this draft where the physical tools are there that even if he doesnt play all 3 downs right away, he can grow into that type of player that routinely comes up on opposing teams scouting reports of "be aware of where # is." I think he's the type of guy where he goes to the right spot coaching wise and we could be talking about a perennial pro bowl or better caliber player; big men just arent made like this often and his combine results will cause some front offices to make some calls if he hits outside the top 10.
He was to great to pass up it seems especially since Fletcher Cox won’t be back after the yr. I know Eagles wanted a CB bad An we got A. J. Brown!!! That was major at receiver…. It was a good pick… now will have to see what happens wit free Safety an Cornerback an Linebacker

Kirby has created a power house. The way they recruit and develop their recruits is scary. This national championship was just the beginning. There isn't a team in the sec east that stands a chance to win that division over the next decade

@Nathan Harrison Guys like Jordan Davis are extremely rare. You will be very lucky if your team does pick him. He will be great for the community and on the field. He was in the heisman race as a DT, I honestly don’t think you know how talented the guy is considering your emphatic 2nd round response. If your team picks him (idgaf if they do or if they don’t) , you will be grateful in the future. The guy is an animal, I’ve seen him run side line to sideline to chase down a running back and actually catch him. Guys like this hardly exist on earth
Steelers. It would be a terrible mistake by every other team to allow that though. Heyward, Davis, Tuitt, with Myles Jack and TJ Watt; potential to be the greatest front 7 of all time.
The only reason for this man to do the 40 and not the bench is because he knew he could run but isn’t strong. If he was Larry Allen strong at his size he would’ve done the bench. What a weak mentality to pick and choose which workouts to do. That’s called trying to trick people into taking you without them having every piece of information available. I wouldn’t take the man.

Guys like Jordan Davis are extremely rare.
We need him in Dallas. Jerry, get on the phone now!
I was thinking the same thing
Yep
FLYEAGLESFLY enjoy your backup OT

Wishful thinking. FLY EAGLES FLY
03:22 When he catches his prey his arms open up like the jaws of a Great White Shark.
Terrifying.
Just call him Wreck. Wow. Flashes of Reggie White and Jerome Brown.
Fletcher Cox and Jordan Davis will DOMINATE
*BIG JORDAN DAVIS!* Love the nickname
Loves spending time with his dog
Steelers. It would be a terrible mistake by every other team to allow that though. Heyward, Davis, Tuitt, with Myles Jack and TJ Watt; potential to be the greatest front 7 of all time.
Welcome to Philly 🦅

Let’s go 🦅🦅🦅
The only reason for this man to do the 40 and not the bench is because he knew he could run but isn’t strong. If he was Larry Allen strong at his size he would’ve done the bench. What a weak mentality to pick and choose which workouts to do. That’s called trying to trick people into taking you without them having every piece of information available. I wouldn’t take the man.
