David Kaye voicing Hardshell's the best part about Prime, not gonna lie. It's like Beast Megatron was reincartinated as an Insecticon after being defeated in Beast Machines XD
They should not only showed more insecticon characters, but more Predacons, Dinobots, heck even more Decepticons. This Hardshell is probably my favorite, heck these insecticons are probably my favorite version of them.
And since the war for and fall of cybertron games are a part of the cannon this is also technically a prime bombshell as bombshell was referred to as hard shell in the games
What's interesting is that hardshell is voice by David Kaye who voice Megatron in Beast Wars and Beast Machines and Optimus prime and Lugnut in Transformers Animated.

Fun fact about this, this was originally supposed to be the debut of lugnut in transformers prime, as to the extent of getting David kay back, but due to budget and time constraints, they decided to just reskin an insecticon a tiny bit. A shame, I do believe that when Megatron was going to go to the insectacon hive he was going to actually call upon all the decepticon gladiator warriors, maybe we would have gotten some cameos like blitzwing and Astro train, six shot, and a lot of others, what a shame. Hopefully someone will reanimate that episode and replace Hardshell with lugnut.

The TFP version of the Insecticons, specially Hardshell, is great... but its potencial could have been beter explored
I like how they felt and acted more like insects in the aligned continuity such as having them being cannibals and roaring.
