If megaton were to go against it or didn't believe in the cause then soundwave would not be loyal to him anymore but he would not kill megaton.

That's creepy to think about. Those couple of years before RID where soundwave could be stalking them or literally walking through cities without anyone knowing while in the shadowzone

In the show I forget exactly how or when they opened a ground bridge or were fucking around with some tech and it allowed him to escape and try to contact the decepticons before I think they got him back in the shadow zone. So as far as I know he’s still there.
He was probably able to collect so much information.

well, he did get out eventually, so its all good.
Must have hit him particularly hard since he was the one that dedicated his life to managing surveillance and communications for the decepticons, only to be stuck where he could never communicate with them again.

Theoretically if Soundwave wasn’t stuck in the shadow zone and was there during the unicron part of the story and witnessed megatron call a end to the war he would probably become a great part of making cybertron into a metropolis.
The problem is i don't think it would have helped the autobots, i think he would have just made what megatron did to fly in exile

When integrating Soundwave, remember where Laserbreak is not around. The AutoBots, were ignorant and didn't realize that Soundwave was trolling to stall time and taking advantage of OP
Given that he still deleted his backup data, he still thought it possible that the Autobots could get access to his drives anyways. Thats the genius of him, even though he knows he will get out, he meets preperations for his defeat
@Jack Willard Soundwave temporarily going comatose was the "proof," he deleted his drives. When Laserbeak found and rejoined Soundwave he revived Soundwave implying Laserbeak backed/replaced the drives.

1:13 It’s impressive that Soundwave has complete control over the Space Bridge at his fingertips. Able to use it how ever he wishes. That’s why he is one of Megatron's greatest warriors.
Both shockwave and sound wave had some badass designs. And I love the way they talk, Sound wave is silent and shockwave always says logical.
I like how in this show every decepticon gets defeated or switches sides at the end except Soundwave cause hes so deadly and effecent they had to banish him to the shadow realm Yu-gi-oh style, and he still comes back in another series
Soundwave's so OP that the writers had to give him a good reason to not be part of the final battle.

Soundwave: Manages to kill the Autobots, turned earth into a wasteland, then he found Megatron

As much as a cowardly snake Starscream is, he is a rather effective military commander. And that's the kind of bot you want as a second in command, especially since it doesn't seem like Megatron is a strategic mind. Starscream's is very dangerous when he actually puts his mind to things, unfortunately he lets himself get far too arrogant.
For a communications officer, you want someone you know will be true and loyal, as information is everything. Soundwave was perfect for that role.

Soundwave has everything. Hes unique because silence and has one of a kind design with that sick visor. Thats design wise, but in battle he offers unmatched utility with opening spacebridges at will, is good in hand to hand combat, has those wires for info gathering and as weapons, records audio and video information while present and has laserbeak as his sidekick that single handedly freed him. Outside of battle soundwave is extremly loyal and efficient, a master at info processing and still opens up spacebridges on command.
I guess soundwave really is superior.
