Only on CFA could you start on Guntersville and end up in a little creek catching pan fish and small LMs and be happy you switched things up. Awesome video.
Great prefish choice and then a detour on a newly discovered creek??? Mind blown 💥. You had 2 beautiful and rewarding fishing experiences. Blessings brother
Your go pro is quality it's like being there with you, I never knew there was that much rock in Guntersville, i know there's not much in the lake, it's neat how you found that creek, it kept you busy though!🎣👍
A beautiful little Creek John and just loaded with fish. God bless you sir and your family and friends and best of luck on your tournament my friend...🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏
That opening spot looks just like my favorite " Pickeral Palace" here in the Pocono Mts! More weeds than water, but loaded with fish, and nice size ones at that! :-) !
My cousin and his wife live in scottsboro and they fish lake Guntersville and catch a great looking fish. Great video and great looking fish. Good luck on the tournament when it starts. Hopefully you will have those kind of fish and win it.
Mainly on tbe refuge and redstone arsenal. I have been wading wheeler in areas such as flint creek, bulla bay, and white springs and never had a problem with them. Been in the water with them. The only time tou have to be careful is if you get near one of their nests. They will try to steal fish off your stringer if arent careful. I worry more about cotton mouths then I do aligators. Swan creek and blackwell swamp is covered up with them!
Good creek action ! The big G lake has so much grass and other vegetation, I would get impatient and anxious trying to work through it. I have fished in lily pads up in North Idaho with success using the KVD caffeine shad. Their small lakes have a lot of nice largemouth in them. Those man made rock structures are always intriguing. I always wonder how long they have been there, if any were from the Civil War days. Always be careful. Pap Blevins
You need to come to guntersville more often. The weights are starting come back....maybe not like back in the days of the Donnie Mac tourmanents but overall weights have improved over the last several. Most due to TVA leaving the grass alone and the inteoduction of eel grass. I use to hate the eel grass but I have finally figured out how to fish it.
I've been going to G-ville for the last 5 years and as much as I love that area and lake, the fishing and health of that lake is decreasing by the yr. It is so overfished by the pros and local tournaments. That lake could do for a few years off from big tournaments.
Guntereville is coming back you just have to know how to adjust. The eel grass has changed the migration routes of the forage such as threadfin and gizzard shad. I finally figured out how to pattern better fish on Guntersville. They are also transitioning to setting up on boat houses. Trust me....there are some true rod breakers on Guntereville. I have also figured out the night bite on Guntereville is better then it has ever been. It is unreal the contrast between daytime fishing on Guntereville and nighttime fishing. FFS is also making the fish change how they set up.
@@alexrawleigh3167I go with a guide down there every yr that also does some tournament fishing. He knows that lake and everything about it like the back of his hand.
Have you noticed the fish aren’t hitting large baits like they were this whole year up until recently? I can’t seem to catch much on anything bigger than 3-4” long max in the last couple of weeks lol. Course I’m in ohio, but I wonder if that’s part of the “fall transition”..?
Siebold and chisenhall branch. Jones creek also hot right now. Lower end such as browns creek lower end of pine island. If TVA is releasing any water....lower end of pi e Island. Black and blue 1.25 jig with a green pumpkin paca craw trailer. Pulled 25.3 pounds off of it not long ago. The humps in browns creek are hit or miss. All depends if current is present. Been doing really well at night on the browns creek humps but that doesn't help for a day tournament. Churhill slew is good with Zara spooks but it is being hammered. South saughty....bust.
After all these years, how hard is it to reach your hand down like one foot and place the fish into the water? Why do you have to throw them back like that, even flipping them around and stuff? Can you not respect the fish you catch or what? Whether it's hurting them or not, that's always been an inherently tacky habit and you do it constantly. I could understand if you were up on a bank away from the water, but even when you're wading or in the kayak like you are here, you just HAVE to make sure the fish catch some hang-time up in the air before making it back..? Love all your videos but I'll never understand this. It seems like it's almost intentional at times and just to spite people who call you out for it or something. Respect God's creatures.. it gave up it's time and suffered just to be put in this video, which is putting food on your table. So respect the fish, man. It's not hard.
It’s not hard but it’s also not necessary. I don’t know what you know but I have studied and watched and asked as much as a I can to people that know about fish and have learned fish are very tough and hardy. Plus it might look like they are falling far but they really aren’t. Anyways if tossing the fish in is hurting them, then what does yanking a hook through it’s mouth and jerking it out of the water do? I don’t ever want to mistreat a fish if I can help it , but I do plan to treat it like a fish.

Couldn't agree more! Great video John.
i caught more fish there than i have in any tournament i have ever fished
@@CreekFishingAdventuresyou'll still catch fish but the quality and quantity have gone down from it's once really high standard.

If you see Richard gene the fishing machine tell him hello for me lol
AND, you failed to mention you’ll be fishing it in November for the knuklhed--I’ll be there on Gramp’s team.
thats right, i hope i can find fish like i did this trip
Largemouth are Sunfish. 👍
I've never been the first view on one of your videos. I feel privileged now!
Good luck in the tourney; I know you will do well.
Do you have a recommendation for a cell phone chest harness? Thanks.

hmmm, i caught a ton of bass on spinnerbaits here
Great fishing u should have tried catching a fish on a pice of that pizza
Back to basics johns in a Creek llol
lets go to win this tournament
What line do you use?
When I went to Guntersville in my youth it didn't have that grass. The state should work to eliminate that much grass.
People have been trying for years to get the weeds under control without any success.
Beginning of video looks like carp territory 😂
there was gar everywhere in the grass
nice
What is your preferred kayak if you only had one?
thats tough, maybe the bonafide rvr, its great for rivers and for lakes, i do like the old town with the pedal drive though
Replaced your lost net?
no but i need to get something soon
Picked up a nice rubber coated floating net from Academy for $20 today. ForEverlast G2 Floating Wading Net. Perfect for YAK fishing
I live near there
Prefish siebold… thank me later.
