  • @nemhod
    @nemhod Год назад +3

    Loved this! Great debut, but I do have some questions, since I want to maximise the learning.
    So the first one is an assumption, and that is that you airbrushed the contrast paints on? Followed by a question/suggestion. When you did your glaze priming, your explanation was great, but I think it could help people like me to see you prepare that, since I almost assumed you dropped the thinner on the paint. And working with paints to me is also working your palette, so that could be beneficial for inexperienced oil painters like me to see.
    The last question for now is, how long does it take for a layer to dry? I do not know how long you spend between the blue layers, but one of the things you always hear is that un-thinned oil paint takes ages to dry, so that threw me off a couple of times.

    • @omegonedge
      @omegonedge  Год назад +3

      Thanks Homie!
      I did note that as i watched it back and its already corrected in the next section. So thanks for calling that out.
      So because we are using wet paint first and then blending thick paint into it, it ends up thinning out to a nice crisp layer. - this allows the paint to go from thick to thinned so it dries much faster. As lond as you’ve blended it will dry after a couple of hours - and dry to touch over night.
      Hope that helps and will keep you up to date

    @CarlMartin_1982 11 месяцев назад

    Hey man. Came back and rewatched this a few times to get myself prepared. Going to try and produce some EC marines using oil. One question I had was relating to the prime glaze. Do you have to reapply that every time you paint? Say if I only have an hour or so to paint. And want to come back to it the next day, do I need to reapply or will the layer down suffice?

    • @omegonedge
      @omegonedge  11 месяцев назад

      So let’s use the EC as an example,
      You’ve done one layer of the leg and you come back a few hours later, you will still need to do a prime glaze but not using pigment, just a very very thin layer of thinner and then you can use your opaque high light colour onto of that. This will prevent you from needing to change the colour. The prime glaze is usually made darker because it allows us to blend our lights into the shadows and vice versa.
      If you need help ping me. But I’ll do a demo for this when we begin our fundamentals series

      Oil paints are not dangerous so long as they’re not ingested. So just make aure to wash your hands with soap. The masks are for the spirit which is why i recommend painting in a well ventilated room.
