Nice video! There's actually no need to set your HS in silithus then fly the way back to the dungeon. I just play in windowed mode and hard exit the game when all the feeders are dead, then log on the other character and run the instance with him/her. After a few minutes, the boss attacking the first character despawns and that character gets teleported right next to the entrance. This happens while you're farming with your second character.
Thanks a lot for making this video! I had nearly lost all of my sanity farming those bears in Winterspring when I stumbled upon this guide. After a day of grinding the Silicate Feeders I got my legplate drop! Thank you! :-)
For my fellow monks out there that are farming the leggings(or anything else) - use your Zen Pilgrimage at the end of the dungeon, to be ported to the EXIT of the dungeon! Just leave and reset! With the pre-patch our Zen Pilgrimage went from being 30 min cooldown to 1 minute. Happy farming!
also if you run back to the boss and wait for about 10 sec youll get stunned and promptly one shot. release and BAM. back at the entrance instead of hearthing. easiest way to do on one character continuously
Thanks for the tips! i suggest arcane mage for this. u can pull all feeders with spellsteal without killing them. double blink glyph and blazing speed talend. Also if u use priest use ability dispel magic on mobs to pull them, much better than mindflay that is suggested on this guide. I personally use a brewmaster monk and pulling all the mobs with dazzing haze and the mage described earlier. Moreover, u can use a mage also to solo farm this, by using invinsibility at the end of each run, getting out of combat, mount up, run out and reset.
it indeed is. to max out speed, join a grp in group finder and instantly leave it as soon as u enter the corridor. then you will get ported out as soon as u kill all feeders at the small room. i used invincibility to mount up before this happens to save more time. also battle horn is very useful coz spellsteal is very expensive spell mana wise. best of luck!

Since the prepatch, Ayamiss tends to kill me with paralyze not long after the fight starts. Had to skip the 3 larvae behind it, and just pull everything else without aggroing the boss.
It took me literally 2 days of nonstop farming before I got my pair. Well worth it though! Earned 150K gold while picking up random greens and selling them on the AH! :D
An alternate way to leave a dungeon without using your hearthstone is to open looking for group, find a group and then leave it. This will send you to the nearest graveyard which is right at the entrance.
You can also start a group, leave it, and it'll do the same thing without inconveniencing other real groups. Make sure to leave the group by clicking your portrait and leaving. Just de-listing the group won't port you out.
Unfortunately you can no longer reset AQ20 more than twice. You have to wait 30 mins to and hour outside of the instance for the trash to reset. I just submitted a ticket to a GM about this and he told me it is specifically so people cant farm AQ20. I told him "That's a odd thing to do in a game like WoW."
A faster way to exit the instance is to que for proving grounds then teleport out, go to the ruins of AQ20 kill the feeders, then port to proving grounds. now it can bug out sometimes and take u back inside the instance where u were initially but if u start the bronze for proving grounds just port out and you'll be outside the instance :) happy farming.

This was my old wow farm spot, the best way to road these guys up is with piercing howl, as a warrior, you can tag aoe without having to target em or do damage. Also, it's a good idea to queue for a skirmish when you're done. Then AFK out of the skirmish and you'll be outside of the instance. I went here a few days ago after being AFK for over a year and got Lofty legs (not the highest value but still a nice rare drop to get). Also I figured out that you can kill all the generals before Rajax (or whatever) boss fight, then feign death and they will all respawn. They had pretty good drops like glorious chest, exalted chest, legs, hands, etc. But i came back a few days ago to find they had nerfed this :(
I have been farming these feeders for two days now...so far I have been gotten two vanguard pants and a lofty...still waiting for my second vanguard to sell!
I remember farming silicate feeders back in vanilla for some sort of drop they would give, same as the grubs in EPL. Can't remember now but it used to sell on AH for a bit.

Hello, I've just done 2 full days of farming just as you're showing us. It seems like a really good way of getting the glorious legplates, but they haven't dropped yet. I wanted to ask you, since they dropped 4 times for you: how many days or weeks or months does it usually take to get one? Thanks in advance! Going back AQ for my 3rd day of farm lol.
Entertaining video but you would do much better to farm with a brewmaster monk or a druid of any spec, even resto so you pull with soothe on the druid or keg toss with the monk.
Ran AQ 5 times got a pair of these on 5th run and sold it for 75k pretty quick. I'd suggest bringing the Battle Horn item in order to round up the feeders quicker.
I can confirm Glorious leg plates drop. Its taken 3 weeks farming, aprox 4hrs each day. Dropped in the area described, near Ayamiss the Hunter (Boss) not from a silica feeder but from either a Hive Zara stinger or wasp. Tip: Use at least 2 characters, if unsuccessful on your run, log out at in the instance instead of running back and log in with another character. Rinse & repeat. Good luck
+saksero I already explained , basically each charactet has a different outcome on loot drops, for example, one time I was doing runs on a death knight for an hour and got nothing, then I switched over to a priest and on the first run the sillicate worms dropped glorious shoulders, and it happened on 2 ocassions.
Based on WoWhead stats, the chances of a drop are about in in 10,000. Since there are 41 Feeders per run, you might be considered "lucky" if you got the legplates in under about 244 runs, which translates to about 24 hours of straight farming, assuming you reach the 10 instance per hour instance cap for each hour. I for one have broken that cap, which is not unlikely to happen at all. So, be sure you're committing to having no life for a while if you want this drop.
You might be wondering how to reach that 10 instance cap in just 1 hour. The only easy way I could do that was to play a monk. At the end of your Feeder farm, use Zen Pilgrimage to go back to your class hall or the temple, repair, sell, and sort gear there really quick, and then reset the instance and Pilgrimage back to it.
thing is this is an rng grind and no matter how much math you do it wont give you a good answer. i have had a friend get the glorious leggings on his 10th run, i have gotten the vanguard leg piece within first half an hour i have been at the farm. its all luck

I dont know if you are facepalming because of the new tmog system, but when he made the vid, you had to get an entire set for each char you wanted to mog. Again, I don't know if thats the reason for your facepalm.

Been doing 10 runs and got the Lofty shoulderplates on the first run and no drops since. There are however Loty boots & gloves lookalikes obtainable from a questline in Netherstorm! Look at wowroleplaygear,com for the lofty set details. There are some links in the comments. Farming on my lvl 100 warrior pulling the first 3 mobs, kill them in a safe place. Then pulled the mobs at the boss and killed in them in the same place (ensuring being fully enraged!!!) Then I've used taunt and piercing howl to pull the Silicate feeders and kill them in batches of 3's ensuring again Ill be fully enraged after each batch. Otherwise you can't use piercing howl! This way I can easily farm them grouped. It will take a ton of time though this is guess the only way you can manage it on a warrior. Tried it on a lvl 87 mage but then you will aggro every mob you pass from the beginning of the instance, so that's no option! Guess the minimum will be lvl 100 to pull this off. farming on a druid works well too. You can use soothe to pull the worms and not kill them. And you can run fast with dash and stampeding roar.

Mages work well, too. Use Slow to pull, Blink for movement and Slow Fall to float over that pit.
