Thanks Peepaw this video was a massive help. Having some issues with a IGBT stack off vacon NX drive. I didnt find a issue with converter or the brake chopper but this did help me with my faultfinding. Best tutorial i hope you get some kind of kickback.
I have problem with SMD bidirectional TVS diodes code , i have VFD to repair but some SMD TVS i dont know how to find it . Do you know how to find SMD TVS ? some code printed on SMD are not correct but i cant use any type. only the type that used by the manufacturer who manufactured the VFD.
I have started to work on traction system on subways and there is a problem which we couldn't solve with my coworkers that is the burning failure of c/I unit. The igbt of converter/inverter unit is burning time to time. This failure happens more especially in one train comparing others. We changed it with new ones, talked with producer but couldn't find the reason. Do you have any idea?we are testing the fiber cable and other cables. Do you have any comments on this matter?
Do you have the model of the machine and converter/inverter board? Do all the boards fail in the same way? is it always in a particular motor phase (U, V or W) ?Does it fail in the rectification area ? You can focus your trouble answering those question. I hope you already fixed it and can tell us how you did it
I have a question my friend so the snubber capacitor like you said in the comments that removes the current spikes and that's right I think so my question is what do you think will happen if you don't use one ???? for the record I have been making alot of Igbts like six one of them to drive a motor but failed I think because I didnt use snubber do you think that this is my problem please want to hear from you......

300 Vdc /0 = BOOM
yea in real world divided be zero is NOT zero! its boom! heat and smoke! the milliohm resistance . makes heat fast with that much power.
