We had to drive 3 hours one way to get to this guy in his broken down bus. He had called numerous other recovery companies and they all told him he was too far off the beaten path. Can we help him? Check it out!

There must not be a lot going on in that area if the people know where to stand for a cell signal.

Paul doing right thing while others leave a family stranded, world needs more decent people like Paul!
Don't be too hard on the other tow companies. I bet their insurance won't cover them off road.
I know ice fishing in Wisconsin, insurance coverage stops when you drive out on the ice.

Dad and son doing things together to help other people out is something worth watching.
And something seldom seen anymore.
Best way to enjoy the day, as how else are they going to justify, roaring around on desert roads in a well built buggy like that?
May as well get a few dollars for the chance of helping out.. (by way of RUclips paying them for all the Adverts that @Davegodfrey03 "pays" to have a halfway clean screen, with less adverts than he deserves.

Paul, not sure you are ‘skipping church’ since you are going out of your way to provide a service for a person in need. Which at the end of the day is what it is all about. Best to you guys!

Most mechanics have a couple of screw drivers they keep just for that purpose.

Yeah, seeing how you and Landon were lending a helping hand to some folks who were down and out, I'm pretty confident that God will certainly forgive y'all for missing Church this time! Y'all did a really good turn for that family!!!!! THIS is why Fab Rats is my #1 favorite channel on RUclips!!!!!!! May God continue to richly bless all y'all!!!
I was taught that Service counts for butt time in a pew. I can't tell you how many times my youth groups would be out doing compassionate services for the homebound and elderly within the bounds of our congregation's area, regardless of denomination.
That was definitely a good deed, which is what the church wants everyone to do when they can.
The knowledge you have to just walk up to a vehicle, diagnose and get it started is really great! Keep doing what you’re doing.
As a skoolie owner, I want to thank you for going to rescue a fellow skoolie.
BB us life is where it's at....until no one will come out to help because it's a bus....you guys are Legendary 👣❤️👣
I've said this countless times, you're not only a good person, but also someone that anyone would be proud to call a friend. Much love from Tennessee ❤
Paul, you are a good man. To takeoff on a 2 Hour drive to help someone in need. From just a message and no confirmation.
3hr drive .. 5 mins to fix .. nicely done guys
and what gets me is the amount of solo travelers relying on cell phone signal knowing they are going remote traveling ??
I used to fix computers for people, and sometimes it was quick. You pay for the knowledge and experience.
Paul, you did not skip church, you took church on the road! God Bless you all for the awesome ways you bless others and the way you mentor your crew/family, or is it family/crew.... Fab Rats are AWESOME!
Landon is a heck of a good kid. Works hard.
That guy is from the South and you showed some "southern" hospitality out west going all the way over over there to help him out. He'll be talking about this forever.
Not me hiding in the bus 😂😂. Thank you guys for the rescue, thank you to the towing company that told us to call y’all (even though they couldn’t come get us), and thank you so much to the couple that had to do the slots in the dark because they were kind enough to let us use their phone to make all of those desperate phone calls. Verizon… of course they’d have bars in Escalante.
It’s amazing how many people have found out about Escalante since the first time I’ve been out there. This was the first time I’ve probably been thankful for the “crowd” because if this was even 5 years ago we would’ve been screwed 😮💨
Nothing like being in the middle of nowhere, no one can help. That is why in the oilfield we always tried to help. You never knew when you were next and needed something.
There were other people around the stranded guy, I'm surprised nobody knew how to get it going and offered to help. Every time I've seen someone stuck or broken in a remote area, everyone stops to help and there's always someone with enough mechanical knowledge to get it going if at all possible.
The people who y'all help when no one else will shows what good people y'all are ✓
The tow truck looks so good with that Rim and tire combo completely transformed the whole look I love it
That road is way better than most of the roads in my farming neighborhood that get farm vehicles and semi traffic.
“Which one of you who has a sheep, if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out? Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” - Matthew 12:11-12
Ox in the mire.
Or, we can just dispense with the whole sabbath nonsense altogether.
@@stargazer7644 it's up to you if you get no satisfaction from church nobody's forcing you to go, very simple!
God approves of good karma. He also likes good humor or he wouldn't have created atheists.

Hey Paul buy a starter remote button throw it in your toolbox will save on screwdrivers. Great job U2.
He has one. It's permanently attached to the ratback.
If the solenoid is shot, a remote starter button isn't going to do anything. The screwdriver is used to make a direct connection from the positive battery cable on the solenoid to the starter.
2:40 I was the bike the was out in front of you guys until you turned off on highway 12. It was a great Sunday morning to play hooky and enjoy a ride/drive. It absolutely made my day to see the wrecker on the flatbed.
i was watching the gike and hoping they would catch up so i could see what it was. i would love to take my old zxr750 h2 on those roads. in scotland its never that sunny for long unfortunately.
@@marswalkerpilot2303 Its a 2024 Yamaha R1 (has been a bucket list bike for me for a long time). I have to admit that I caught up to them (and blew past them) earlier. I slowed down hoping they'd follow me into the next town and I be lucky enough to catch a picture. By the time you see me in the video I had been on the road for 3 hours. The @FabRats team lives in some of the best places in the world to ride. Lots of varying terrain. Miles and miles of straight roads, lots of long sweepers and great twisties. Its usually extremely dry, always warm and extremely beautiful!
We have an "Escalante" here in Western CO, but we pronounce it, ' Ess - Kah - Lon - Tay ' 😂
Love the channel, we were created to help and love others. God bless.
there are two starter relays on that bus, one on the panel on the firewall and one by the driver's left foot.
the one under the hood is the one that goes out the most often! if the starter spins, I would go relay first, it's a lot cheaper repair.
as a retired school bus mechanic I have seen a lot of those fun problems, and they never happen in a convenient place! great job getting him out of the middle of nowhere.
It's sad that no one would help the guy, except for Fab Rats!
So Very Nice of Y'all to go help this man & his family way out there. Just another reason why I'm So Proud to wear your Shirts! God Bless Y'all 🙏❤️👍🏼
I'm wearing my FabRats T Shirt right now. ❤❤❤❤
Welding wrenches and Meltin screwdrivers RUclips has been good to us lately!
Good job getting that starter to go one more time.
He seems like a good guy I'm glad you were there to help.
The boys & I from Oklahoma passed y'all on your way to this rescue. I told them y'all were missing church today.
You are a good man Paul and Fabrats crew. You set a fine example of what it means to be good person.
I was so sucked in to this video that sighed with happy relief when I heard that starter crank over, and had a big smile on my face when that engine caught. Whew!. Great job. That was one happy bus driver. I hope that trip was cheaper for the guy since you didn't have to tow him out, but I know just the time and the trip must have been a substantial amount even without the tow. Everything is so expensive these days, and time is money. But it's also nice to give people a break when you can.
Amazing how much Land has grown in the time I have been watching you. Good show guys! THanks!
Nice job guys! Reminds me of a Bible verse: Matthew 12:11-12 NKJV
[11] Then He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out? [12] Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
You might be missing going to a building, but you're not missing church. Going out to help someone in need is doing church. That's one of the messages you can give someone. GOD tells us to help those in need.
Thanks captain obvious...😅
I bet he was glad to see you guys
I've seen our off road rescue community do some amazing things for stranded people over the years. There are people that will drop everything and drive for hours to rescue folks. All people have to do is post their GPS coordinates, a picture if they can, and a phone number if they can.
That guy lucked out getting in touch with ya'll, YAHOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm proud of you both for taking care of a stranded stranger a bit outside of your normal area. Getting him running again and on his way safely as possible with the condition of the bus was a great day. Besides you guys had a good time to be alone and have man time.
Thanks Mechelle for finally answering my question from three months ago. I wanted a hoody but will only by the heavy weight as I’m constantly out on the farm in the winter and the light weight ones just don’t cut it. I’ll send my sister down from Panguitch to pick me one up.
Y'all inspire us to do better helping our fellow humans in need. Thank you! My favorite YT channel by far
It sucks when you can't get someone to help out. It's good that you were able to get the bus running but it would have been a lot easier if someone that was more local could have helped him out. You and your son did good Paul.
Thank you Paul and Landon for the adventure , seeing some amazing scenery and great recovery !
Watched an older FabRat video and wanted to comment on diesels.
Carbs don't last a month sitting here in the heat due to the goat piss gas.
One time I was working on an old John Deere back hoe that hadn't run in 15 years. (Diesel engine of course.) The owner had lost the key, and I was trying to figure out which wires to hot wire it. When I just barely touched the starter wires, it started and sat there idling perfectly!! I swear it didn't even make a quarter turn and it was running!
What a difference compared to the problems we fight with today's gas!!!

I helped a guy and his family in thier bus. Broke down for like 6 weeks at a truck stop in SC. Had a mechanic come out.. threw a air dryer on.took him for like $3k.then never came back to finish or help him. He gotten under back.saw air tank blew out.order a tank. Spent a week trying to get it out..
Paul I’m making you a honourable Aussie you are the best
Awesome helping that family out, when nobody else would. Your heart is in the right place. God bless you and your family.
You might be skipping church but still are doing Gods work. 🙏
I'm glad you guys step up when people are in need of help, when no one seems to want to help! Fab Rats 🐁 are the real deal! The world needs more people like you who are willing to help those in need of a rescue! Good job. Catch you on the next. ✌️ 😊
Good you could help'em out. There's still good people around.
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
You guys are a blessing! Brad and angela are two amazing people who have helped me more then i can ever thank them for
FabRats should probably invest in either a Satellite Phone or a Garmin inreach text device Just in case.. they are no that expensive...
Been stranded. Plenty of good folks stopped and offered help. There are still good people out there but only a rew with expertise to repair stuff. Good stuff Paul...you too Landon. 👍👍
Absolutely wonderful people doing wonderful work to help people in need! God bless you all!!
Thanks for helping him out,Paul !!!
Thank you for helping The bus Man ❤
Awesome video! The two of you helping that group were awesome. Thank you for sharing!😊
Love that area and thinking about spending a couple weeks there this fall.
I've been starting my John Deere tractor with the screwdriver 'key' for several years. I kinda wished that guy would have wanted to see exactly what you did to jump the solenoid starter in case he stalled it out, shut it off or next starter failure. 5 min jump solenoid lesson versus a $1,200 big rig tow bill. Glad you helped him, thanks.
That was really nice of you two going out and getting the guy going. I hope some day this good deed will come back to you. Take care. Great video. 😊
Wish there were recognition awards for the most helpful folks… Paul should be an *award nominee.* (Sport awards seen, but not many; *“outstanding”* helper awards seen).
Thats what im talking about guys always willing to help when nobody will thats what puts y'all apart 👌👌
Another great job done by the Fabrats crew!!!!
Bless your heart that you were able to get them started and back on their way! A lot of people nowadays
wouldn't lift a finger to help anyone! You and your son are phenomenal!
You are a great guy Paul. Taking care of someone that nobody else would is called great service.
BEAUTIFUL part of the country you live in Paul!
This channel does more than entertain. You lead by example. And the comment section is proof there are still good people in the world who appreciate the good in other people. Thank you.
Well done!
Good works are blessed ❤️
You guys are the best! Although I admit I wonder how you get anything done at the shop with all the rescues you do, It is so good that you take the time to help people out. Love you all.
You made that look so easy. I know it wasn't because I've done it. Great job and beautiful country.
I have to agree with a lot of others. Paul and his family and crew are genuine caring people who help others. Fabrats is my favorite RUclips channel to watch, but I also watch Matt's off-road recovery for the sheer entertainment of it, because he makes some of the poorest decisions I've ever seen anybody make regarding mechanical equipment. He also is too stubborn to take anybody's advice when it comes to the Bombi, and install a torsen differential that all snow cats use, including me when I worked for two different ski areas at Tahoe!
There are at least two Peekaboos in Utah. This one is on the Hole in the Rock road, which is five miles east of Escalante. The road is an easy, wide gravel road, until you get to the last 10 miles and then you better have 4x4, high clearance.
The bus was at the Peekaboo Parking lot.
Nice drive with your boy and a somewhat easy job, not to shabby for a Sunday morning !!!
Great Job Paul and Son. Nothing worse that being down and out with no-one willing or capable to help you out. Our world needs constant reminders of the need to get out of our comfort zone from time to time and look for the good in providing help and assistance where and when we can. Good on you guys for using your skills and capabilities to help out. I'd be stuffing $100 bills in your shirt for helping me if I was in that situation. I hope that you get more than just a great feeling of helping out from time to time. People paying it forward is critical in our quest for a better society.
Great father and son rescue mission and lunch thanks for sharing drove side by sides from bigwater to escalate last summer awesome drive
Watching how you pour and invest your talent and example of what a good man should be when he’s around those that are younger.
It refreshing to say the least Paul.
Thank you for doing that. 🙏🏼
It is a wonderful thing to have that knowledge. I have helped a lot of broken down people get going again but it's far more difficult since electronic everything.
Good video Paul and Lan! Length of video was perfect too!
Thanx for All the Great Videos

That was Awesome you went to rescue , when no one else was going to
That great feeling when I go to make my daily vote on OnX offroad builds, and see the fab Rats jump up the ranks 🤙 bout time!!
Good job there. If the owner had known a bit more, he may have been able to start it himself but like me, I've forgotten a lot that I used to know. Good to know there are people like Paul who will come out and help, even from that far away. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the beautiful scenery
Thank you for another great video. The scenery was amazing as tends to be throughout the areas travelled.
Awesome job, thanks, be blessed
Thank you guys
What an amazing country you guys live in. Thank you for pointing the camera out the window!
22 Years in the Marine Corps , came up through the ranks as a recover mechanic. Loved it when we could get a vehicle up and running vice towing it in. Learned how to do all kinds of crazy repairs from a Vietnam vet who showed us some amazing stuff that would save our butts in a combat environment.
When you are in the service of your fellow man, you are in the service of God. I'm sure going out to help someone who needs it is an OK reason to miss church. Good work!
Hello Paul. We see you run a business, employing some men, opening your world to the world, keeping a family & raising those young fella's, saving the day at some expense to your time. Barely scratching the surface here, but I mention some bulkier factors. I feel compelled to tell you, I respect you. Your efforts are magnanimous , we meet a lot of people, before all you achieve regularly on your own. Is found! Respect sir. Top effort !
Thank you! This means a lot!
Glad you helped him God bless.😊
Great job and I am sure HE was okay with you helping a fellow.
Service to others is another great way to spend a Sunday.
Some don't understand that service to others is a large part of it all.
Good job Paul and Landon. Sad that no one nearby was willing to assist. It is not like they were stuck off the road. 😊😊😊😊😊😊
