You guys are so lucky, all seem to have normal shaped feet! Would love you to get someone with really wide feet to try a few brands as tends to be a lot more limiting. Brooks and NB at least good for wide feet as can get 2e width so interesting review 👍
i hear you. i wear mens size 10 extra wide and its extremely hard for me to find running shoes specially at good price. people with normal feet have no idea what we have to go through just to get good fit shoes.
I just returned my nb 1080 10.5 2e and got the brooks ghost max for a work shoe. Honestly both are nice but for a walking/working shoe the brooks feels so much better in my own opinion
I would agree that the ghost max is a bit more soft, stable, good rocker, and protective. I love it. Helped me get past 8 miles in my first half mile training.
Will like to see the Ghost Max up against the new Glycerin 21 which comes out next month. The glycerin 21 adds an extra 2mm of foam and uses a slightly softer formulation of dnav3
I tried the 840 and instantly returned them after one 10k run. As a heavier runner at 90 kg, the cushioning pretty much gave up after 5k. My feet never hurt more than after that run. I love the firm cushioning of most Brooks. For me the Ghost Max feels soft but stable whereas the fresh foam X 840 felt like sinking into mud.
I think you are probably right. I am 87kg and slow. In the 1080 I was in quick sand (literally almost fell backward walking). In ghost max, I got compression and a little pop back with the rocker . I really like it
@@jamisons2504 great feedback! I love watching these videos, but I wish they would have testers in a range if shapes and sizes. Kofuzi, for example, is great, but his running experience will be very different from ours! 😊
@keorbats9429 Yes, so very true. I piece together my choices from so many channels. Take a little from each channel to help with my choices. Maybe one day we'll have more representation.
@jamisons2504 thanks for sharing. I'm about the same weight as yourself (13ish stone in old money!) & was trying to decide between the Ghost Max & the 1080 V13. You've made my mind up for me (👍)
Same here - I'm 89kg and the Ghost Max feels great. I tried the NB fresh foam X 840 and it felt like sinking into mud. And the cushioning effect was almost gone after 5k. I ran a single 10k in them and returned them. Also because of the horrible quality. There were some plastic pieces sticking out at the side of the tongue that shouldn't be there.
if my daily job same kind as a nurse, have to walk or stand almost daily from morning till evening. Which one is the best to support not to get the heels pain?
NB is nice for standing and walking, just not for running 😂. At least not if you weigh over 70 kg. I'm guessing the fresh foam stuff might work good for lightweight runners but didn't work for me at 89 kg.

@@darkdorm-l5qyou could try the Brooks Divide 4. Those have the widest toe box of the Brooks I own (Ghost 9, Ghost 14, Ghost Max and Divide 4).

I got the same problem
Seems like the Ghost Max is a good replacement for my Saucony Endorphin Shift 2/3. The firmer cushion works well for me

Really curious to see how the 1080s will hold up over time since the foam is so soft.

How much do you guys weigh? I’m 83kg and it sounds like the brooks would suit me better…

At 240#, i could never call the max firm. And it needs no break in. Feels like mush out of the box. Obviously, weight has a huge impact on experience.

Try Brooks Glycerin. You can get last year's model for under $100.
Very nice review i am waiting for your comparison review for 1080 v13 vs novablast 4
Thank God both shoes are too expensive for a daily trainer 😅
😂
Ghost Max while last longer
Please tell us how much each of the reviewers weigh
The latest 1080 are dreadful! Gel Nimbus 25 all the way!!
Asics and NB are third class brands, Brooks and Saucony are on another level

Haha did the person at 3:29 steal those shoes?
