    Both the NovaBlast 4 and the Ghost Max 2 are perfect for heavier individuals. The NovaBlast 4 is overall a bit more comfortable to me because it is lighter and disappears on my feet a bit more. You will need to get either shoe in a wide size, since both toe boxes are a bit narrow. The Ghost Max 2 has a bit wider toe box than the NovaBlast 4 toe box. Both Brooks and Asics have good return policies, so if one shoe does not fit after trying it on and walking around, it can be returned. Both Asics and Brooks return policies are 90 days, but Brooks return policy is better. Asics return policy says the item needs to be "unworn" but Brooks return policy says wear around, use it and run in it and if it does not work out, you can return it.

      I would choose the New Balance 1080 v14. Sine doing this video I bought a pair of the 1080 v14’s and find myself wearing this shoe the most often now. If you can try to find a slightly used pair on eBay for $75-$90.

    I have a pair of all black Triumph 21's and like them. Think they are a very good shoe with some bounce. For some reason these Novablast 4's feel overall great for my needs and I like that little pop (mini trampoline pop). Midsole may feel different for other people, but at my weight 190 lbs and what I use them for they are almost a perfect feeling midsole to me.

  • @filoIII
    @filoIII 5 месяцев назад +2

    Saucony shoulda called the Triumph 22 a Triumph Max, Like the Ghost Max, because it's not a Triumph like the 20/21. They've ruined a really good shoe, when they coulda kept both.

    • @Decisions4u
      @Decisions4u  5 месяцев назад +1

      I have seen some reviews saying that about the Triumph 22's being so different than the 21's. I have two pairs of Saucony's Triumph 21 and Endorphin Speed 3's and like them both a lot. And for my Speed 3's, I think they are more stable than my NB 1080 v13's, even though they are considered more of a speed shoe. I like Saucony a lot, along with Asics and now the Ghost Max 2. NB has some soft and bouncy midsoles, but their stability has been hit or miss and on some of their shoes the toe box has been too short (NB Fuel Cell Propel v5 an example).

  • @limta74
    @limta74 5 месяцев назад +1

    I have a plantar plate injury and was advised to run in a less flexible, rocker forefoot shoe with the lowest drop possible. I own the Brooks Ghost Max V1, and I was able to run in it when it was new. However, after reaching 60 km, it began to break in and became softer and more flexible, which caused pain in my forefoot. Now, I can only use it as a walking shoe.
    How much stiffer is the forefoot in the Brooks Ghost Max V2 compared to the V1? Currently, I run in the Adidas Boston 12, which has an EnergyRods structure in the forefoot that prevents bending. I also find V1 the outsole a bit thin; it started to wear down after 60 km, and now it's touching the midsole.

    • @Decisions4u
      @Decisions4u  5 месяцев назад +1

      The feel of the Ghost Max 2 insole vs the Ghost Max 1 is that the GM2 insole feels denser and a little bit stiffer to me. I do have a pair of Adidas Boston 10's, so I know what you mean about the stiffness with the energy rods. The Adidas Boston 10's feel a bit stiffer to me than the GM2 insole, but the Boston 10's feel lighter on my feet vs the GM2. I am not sure about how or if the GM2 insole will start to break in, since the GM2 insole is a DNA Loft v3 and feels denser, but a bit bouncier vs DNA Loft 2 (GM1). Another shoe to possibly consider is the soon to be released Asics Glideride Max, which will have a 6mm drop, stiff and aggressive front rocker. Will be $170 USD on Asics and link to the shoe is www.asics.com/us/en-us/glideride-max/p/ANA_1011B891-001.html

      @@Decisions4u Thank you for the information. I didn't know that Asics had released a new GlideRide model. I checked some information online, and one of the top recommended shoes is the GlideRide 3. However, I couldn't find this shoe in my country. I watched some RUclips reviews of the GlideRide Max, and it seems much softer than the GlideRide 3. It uses a more flexible forefoot plate and might be even softer than the Nimbus 25, which I can't wear because it's too soft for me. • @Decisions4u
      @Decisions4u  5 месяцев назад +1

      May be for some people, I wear a men's size 11 regular, and my toes are not touching but are close to the end of the toe box but has not been an issue for me. I do notice that when I wear the Ghost Max 1 there is a little more distance to the end of the toe box. The Ghost Max 2 and Asics NovaBlast 4 are still my two favorite go to every day wear shoes. The plus of the NovaBlast 4 is that they are lighter and disappear on my foot more than the Ghost Max 2, but the NovaBlast 4 toe box is narrower than that Ghost Max 2, so a wide NovaBlast 4 for me is a great fit. I do feel the Ghost Max 2 is a bit better walking around shoe, because of the front rocker feel that I like, but the non-gusseted Ghost Max 2 tongue annoys me some. I wear the Saucony Triumph 21's too, but not as much as the NovaBlast 4 or Ghost Max 2.
