Mainly run trail but recently got the NB 1080v13 for those occasional pavement ventures, and it is oh so soft and comfortable. Can't beat it as an easy day recovery road shoe.
I prefer the ghost max 2, it is more versatile with better energy return for faster paces. Another advantage for GM2 is it more suited even for lifestyle use & all day travel. The 1080 feels more plush but is an energy sponge.
Pretty spot-on comparison. NB 1080 v13, lighter, softer, more comfortable feel, but in my experience is laterally unstable. Brooks GM2 heavier, more substantial feel, but its front rocker is its star.
Weirdly I don’t find the 1080 v13 suited only for recovery runs, they actually feel easier to pick up the pace with than the Rebel v4…have no idea why, probably by being a touch stiffer they work better with my mechanics. I really love the 1080 ❤
I also prefer the ghost max 2 over the 1080v13. Hoping the 1080v14 is more like the Balos. However both of these shoes are superb casual shoes as well which is a bonus.
@@ahmaadulhassanbajwa9906 maybe the 1080v13 is a bit more accommodating. Also the ghost max 2 is a bit more structured whereas the 1080v13 is softer all round including the upper. There may also be an argument to go up 1/2 size in the Brooks compared to the new balance..
@@Bodhished i wear 2E wide in the 1080v13(feels very slightly snug on my right foot though) should I go for extra wide 4E in ghost max 2 or is sizing up half a size gonna be okay as I have wide feet?
@@ahmaadulhassanbajwa9906 sizing up is for the length not the width. I'd say if you have plenty of length in the 1080v13 you should be ok. As far as widths go I'm not sure as I never buy wider shoes, and don't know how the brands compare but I feel like normal D is narrower in the Ghost Max 2.
I had 1080 v11 loved it. Wore out went to get a new yesterday could not get a good price so got a 680 v8 which also has the new soft foam have not wore it to run in yet but thinking 2024 fresh foam is not really running shoes think nb has changed to fashion a bit soft for running and think wont last even the 1080v11 did not last that long may be wrong but think more very over priced beach shoes at 160 for 1080 and 110 for 680 but may be wrong
I underpronate a bit and out of these two shoes, Brooks GM 2 is better for underpronators, my NB 1080 v13's are not stable laterally, whereas, my Brooks GM 2's are. But, I prefer to wear my Asics NovaBlast 4's which I think are a great overall running/wearing shoe and disappear on my feet a lot more than the Brooks GM2. As an FYI, my Asics NovaBlast 4's ran a bit tight in the toe box for me, so I ended up getting a wide and it fits perfect.
@@garethmorgan7474 Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with the Puma or Hurricane 24's, but I do want to try the Hurrican 24's. I have a pair of Saucony Endorphin Speed 3's , which I like a lot. Just an FYI on the Brooks GM2, for me, I prefer my NovaBlast 4's, since they disappear on my feet more, but my Brooks GM 2's do not and feel quite more substantial on my feet, but the Brooks GM2 front rocker saves it from feeling like I am wearing a brick.

I recently had the SL2's - light and springy - great midsole, but shoe ran tight and a bit short in the forefoot for me (I wear most shoes in regular width). I ended up giving them to my son to wear who is a 1/2 smaller than me.
Great comparison for us wide feet crew. NB and Brooks normally come in 2e width 👌
Looking for that glycerin max next month.

Oh wow very timely video. Considering the Ghost Max 2 and already own the 1080s. So this is a perfect comparison! Thanks!
Same situation here. Did you had the chance of getting the Ghost ? Feedback?
I got ghost max 2. No regrets. Extra room for comfort too.

How does the GHost max 2 compare to the glycerin 21? can you make a comparison on the two?! :)

Is the volume and width in the toebox similar between ghost max 2 and 1080v13?

Which one is better for wide feet, and is more durable?
Brooks outsole outlast NB 2 to 1. Incredible value!

How is the length on ghost max 2 ? Does it run short?
Which toebox is more roomy?
I normally wear a 10.5, I need 11’s in both of these shoes.
The V13 should be going on discount soon.
The max v1 was so firm upon stepin that I did not even try running in it. How does v2 compare to that in terms of firmness?
could u recommend a good running shoe for someone that underpronations

Brooks is a nicer looking shoe than the NB. I'm quite partial to Brooks so I would probably choose it over NB.
