I'm glad someone noticed! The name (and the bag label) is in honor of the track House Nation by The House Master Boyz and The Rude Boy of House. It's one of my favorite House tracks!
Hi. Thanks for the review! I wonder if you could answer this question. Is the bloom button only for freshly ground coffee? If so, what if you use it when the coffee was previously ground? What do you think? Thanks, I'm going to order some of your coffee.
What the bloom button does is cause the brewer to dispense an amount of water intended to wet the coffee then pause. The pause allows any blooming to occur before starting the flow again. It's a little bit more involved than just "freshly ground" coffee. You can have pre-ground coffee that is still "fresh" and off-gassing Carbon Dioxide. In both cases, the function will serve to allow the bloom to occur and fall before starting the brew again. By allowing the bloom to fall, those grounds suspended by the bloom can now be hydrated and extracted by the water. Even if you were to leave it On with older coffee, I don't think it will impact it negatively.
I'm surprised to hear that other reviews don't mention the Bloom switch. It a cool little functionality that helps to mimic a great hand-brew method. Thanks for watching!
@@onocoffee bloom function usually works better if you brew less amount of coffee. In my case I normally brew about 30 grams and it all get wet with blooming. Love this machine. By the way, it is sold in Europe under CoolHome MasterBrew name and I have seen it out there under different names as well. Redline is also same thing. This can be considered as a Redline 2.0
The Bloom feature means that the brewer dispenses a "preinfusion" amount of water on the coffee, then pauses for about 30 seconds to allow the coffee to "bloom", and then starts up again to complete the brew. Hope that clarifies it and thanks for watching!
In the world of specialty coffee, percolators seem to be frowned upon. The recirculation of the brewing liquid can result in over extracted coffee. We used one in our Cowboy Coffee video and the results were just okay. I'm working on a video that I think will result in better percolated coffee but that won't come out for several more weeks. ruclips.net/video/YgD8eHl5yag/видео.html
@@onocoffee It would be fine if they performed like Tehcnivorm, or even close. I'm getting the Bonavita, because I can't see spending $350 on a Technivorm coffee maker nor do I want something that is junky. Bonivata is just right.
I love that you have coffee named house nation, im from Chicago and started DJing house music in the late 90s

Good review! I hadn't heard other reviewers mention the switch on the brew funnel, which is interesting.

Nice review but I still don’t understand how to use the bloom switch?

Pretty much a copy of the Redline coffee maker.
All of these can be considered copies of the Technivorm...
