From day to night video . The amount of time and work that goes into your videos for our entertainment and learning of car products . Never disappointed
Something I wanted to add, Sandro. I believe that a foam's ability to clean rather than foam is more important. And those two qualities are not necessarily related to the other. There are some foams that foam well, and have very poor cleaning ability and vice versa. There are of course foams that foam well, but do a brilliant job at cleaning. I think this fact was missing in this video and that's the most important reason we want to foam a car before hand washing it....so we reduce marring during the washing stage .
Excellent information. Let me add to the question put forward by a few. "How do I make the foam thicker and cling longer". Firstly, foam or its correct description, a surfactant, is generally Sodium laureth sulfate, which is a very mild netural ph detergent, is chemically engineered to reduce surface tension and acts as colloidal, which is carrier of dispersed soluble particles, those particles being the added detergents. The surfactant/ detergent ratio cannot be modified by the end user. All control you process is the ability to change the water/concentrate ratio within the foamer. But if you require a thicker foam with the ability to cling to both horizontal and vertical surfaces for extended periods to allow both the surfactant and detergents to penetrated more deeply into any contamination, I recommend the addition of agricultural marker foam. This product is completely inert and will not chemically react with added detergents, will not aggressively damage any coatings, those being clear coats, raw paint or other waxes and depending on concentration, will cling to vehicle bodies, or in fact, any surface for hours without dispersing. Purchased as a 25 litre drum, it is expensive but will last, without breaking down, for up to 5 years opened. And you require very little to achieve excellent results. I personally use 100 mills of Bowdens Nanolicious ,400 mills of ag foam , filling the rest with water to fill the container, at a ratio of 1 to 10, using a 2200psi/ 10 litres /min pressure washer. The foam produced will not run freely from the vehicle, and will cling, without degregation or dilation, for 3 to 5 hours. It will not stain, as stated, is completely inert, and will not dry out. In the 48 degree summer heat that regularly occurs in my area of Australia, I trialed this on my personal car. Close monitoring,in full baking sun at peak temperature, which was at 1520, revealed that the foam retained moisture for 3 hours before the evaporation became to great and degregation occurred. Just some friendly advice to those interested. Oh, and if you suffer from hard water, a solution is to run all water thru a pool filter, as this will remove 98% of all particle matter, silimar amounts of chremical contamination and produce a very soft water that will not streak, tastes very similat to natural spring water, but can cause foaming difficulties.
There couldn't be a spec of dirt left on that car after that session!! lol, great video mate appreciate the effort you put into this one, very informative, well done sir. =D
Meguiar's never ceases to amaze me. This is a mass-market company that nevertheless seeks to honestly produce the best products they can, and there's really no truly _bad_ product in their lineup. Thanks for the review, Sandro. I respect your opinion more than anyone else's on RUclips (and there are some really good detailers out there, so I don't wish to offend).
Fantastic video Sandro! I got given a Bowen’s snow foam canon for Christmas, your video gave me all the information I needed....thank you! Really appreciated 😄🇦🇺👍
I know this is a little dated Sandro, but it's a great video none the less and very appropriate information. One other thing........Your Alfa BRERA is one SWEET RIDE buddy! I'd love to have me one of those but they were never offered here in the USA. That was before Alfa returned to the USA for sales. Maybe someday after the import time limit has expired.
The best way to have the cleanest water is to attach a carbon and mineral fitler to the main taps you have or will use with your pressure washer, which will make your pressure washer last a lot longer and you will use a lot less products when washing your car truck or caravan and especially if you have the mains done ie: the main water line coming into the house is filtered and you have all the main water lines with Hi grade plastic piping instead of the old steel water piping, but if you have a older home with the old steel water piping then it would benefit to have a mains filter put on, which stops an carbon and minerals from reaching the taps and also the main taps which is used for drinking water you have a carbon and mineral filter connected under the taps. :)
Tip...fill cannon with water, Mark level with Sharpie, measure and pour in soap, Mark new level again with Sharpie....throw away measuring cup. Hahaha, I'm just being a bit cheeky but that's what I'd personally do to speed up the process.
Thank you for your excellent videos. I'd like to mention that if using a less powerful electric power washer with a foam cannon is not producing a thick and clinging foam, then change the orifice or nozzle screw jet to a the smaller 1.1mm and it will greatly improve the performance of any soap.
Very nicely done....a greatly informative piece. Thank you. One observation that I would make with regard to pressure washers, which are seen more frequently than they used to be.....and are used at Car Washes. Pressure Washers work at pressures that can be extremely damaging, especially when they are used to clean caked or dried mud from underneath a vehicle....the sort that gets into crevices and sills and other hard to reach places. This is because they are capable of cracking and then stripping off any underbody protection that has been applied at the time of manufacture. Think about what a pressure washer does in cleaning a wall or a decking area and you'll get the idea. It never ceases to amaze me when I see people using a high pressure washer on their vehicle, when all that is required is a modest flow of water from a hosepipe. I sometimes think there is an element of 'boys toys' about things where a pressure washer is concerned. The small triggers you can buy for a hosepipe work well enough and usually give just enough of a small concentrated blast that will clear mud but not do any damage. James Hennighan Yorkshire, England
I love the GC soap too! I found that if you put extra in the container, set the foamier to max suds, I get a thick clingy foam that doesn’t run and breaks down more dirt grime with a 2500psi gas washer. It may take more water to rinse off but it’s better to have too much soap like Meg GC as it give me better results. 👍😃
That was awesome! I have only recently entered the world of detailing my car myself and the differences and minor usage applications of the gazillion products has had me quite confused. Sandro.. Dude.. YOU ARE DA MAN!

meguiars and bowden's are a good choice, i also use the auto glym is also anothoer good product. SAD to say after many years of using armour all products they really are not that good compared to the other 3 i mentioned above.
Hi there, great video. Told me just what I needed to know, lots of practical info to make an informed purchase. I'm going for the Autoglym product as I have paint protection on my car and I'm an Autoglym fan anyway. Thanks a lot.
Thanks, this video had a lot of products I was interested in and seeing this comparison was very informative on which one to use for different use cases.
gek wash is the best, it will not take off any protection you may have like any type or band of wax and especially any SIO2 sealants or hybrid sealants ,so best to use if you dont want to effect the existing wax protection no matter what it is and also with built in wax snow foam car wash soaps, they will induce minor swirls or hazing if you wash the surface on a warm day always make sure the cars surface is cool to touch with your hands, plus use of cold water will make even cooler as well, but never wash it when it hot to touch especially the bonnet and wheels?
It was a beast but is retired in the shed for a few years now - I can’t remember the LPM but I’d guess it was something like 12-15. It just got too difficult to start reliably, was very noisy and the vibration of the unit made it walk off on its own. But it was a great cheap unit in my mobile detailing days that serviced its purpose.
Does a pre foam do any more than just a rinse with a pressure washer? I would like to see you test it I just cleaned my white Patrol that had driven through a storm the day before. No mud but crap from the road. I foamed 1 side and let it sit for 5 minutes and then pressure rinsed (petrol karcher) the whole car. I couldn’t really see a difference in the sides!!
Hi Sandro, would you please explain what dilution ratio you used here for Meguiar's Soft Wash Gel as a snow foam? And if that dilution ration is pH neutral?
Is there any product that you or somebody recommend, that removes all the dirt that sticks to the car, where it is not necessary to scrub the car with a sponge?
Generally anything that’s going to do that will also be damaging to the paint and trims especially with repeated use, using lighter chemicals and detergents with safe car washing methods is a better way to go to maintain the condition of you vehicle over time.
It’s really about the results and specific foams. I’ve used some that don’t work well when on the thicker side while others stick dwell and perform great in that thicker consistency and vice versa for thinner foam applications. Because products are different, you can’t always all of them the same with the same results, it’s really about assessing each one and seeing what works best for you.
A great review! I appreciate your explanations for the subjective evaluations of the different products. Your common sense approach, adjustments to the manufacturer's suggestions and results are all greatly appreciated.
Great video! To me tho i wouldn't waste my money on autoglym products as a snow foam as they do not stick and add full coverage. Also I wouldn't recommend autoglym for much at all as the products are very overpriced for what you get.
Hoping you respond but it's an old video so who knows. You have a black gloss paint job on your car, how would you maintain that gloss look for the longest with the least amount of washes? I'm thinking Maguiars soft wash foam, then hand wash with the same soft wash, then hand wax with meguiars gold class carnauba wax. That should protect the car for 6-7 weeks apparently. Would you just foam with meguiars wash and wax every fortnight or so to keep it looking great or would you hand wash on top as well? (I live in melbourne too so I know how great our weather is ;-p ). Thanks!
Excellent video as always, thank you. I love that you can recommend adorable accessible products that the average person can appreciate. I would have loved to see how these soaps go coming out of a shitty Karcher (that I'm sure a lot of us have) haha.
It would be closer to Gold Class overall, I probably prefer NTX a little more, it’s maybe a touch slicker and nicer to use but honestly I don’t think there’s a whole lot in it between them.
I’ve watched your very informative video twice now thank you. I’ve ordered a new car that hopefully arrives in July I’m going take it to Melbourne to have a ceramic coating applied I’ve bought a snow gun and other cleaning products from Supercheap Auto’s Could you please tell me if meguiars gold class shampoo and conditioner is ok to use on the ceramic finish or do you think I should take it back and change it for Bowen’s snow foam....Jim 👍👍👍
Hey mate your videos are very informative. Have you used ct18 for a strong foaming wash? That's what I'm using now for cars that are going to be polished. It foams up nice and very economical at $0.30 for a 1 litre mixed 1:10.
CT18 is perfect to spray under your car, leave it overnight and pressure wash off for THE best clean you will ever do! Great stuff but it will strip off all other protection.
Hi Sandro once again a great vid. I have just started with a foam cannon and love it. Just as a note I love the Megs Ultimate W&W it gives my Yellow duco the best shine I use it as a topper to FK1000 and it rocks BUT on my last visit to Super Cheap the Megs NXT was on special and I have been wanting to try it. Well I didn't use the foam cannon but the NXT just loved the FK1000 and the trial side panel I have with Nova Jet on it. Without trying to gush to much the NXT super charged the reflective Hard Candy look of FK1000 and Nova Jet even more. Have you seen any results similar to what I just have ? All the best Danny.
The Benchman Agreed, however do yourself a favour and try the Bowdens Own After Glow. You only need a relatively small amount and is used as a drying agent that leaves a good sealant behind and an incredible gloss. I'm a meguires man in most things but nanolicous and After Glow are both fantastic.
The Benchman I also use megs x wax, love the stuff. Hard to believe that after glow leaves a better shine than x wax but it does. I'll never give my x wax up though lol
Another great informative video. I would like to know your thoughts. I would like to do a maintenance wash but also want to remove traffic road film especially from where I am located, it rains quite often especially at the end of the year. I do not coat my cars and I just wax them. I do not mind the shampoo stripping the wax because I will be applying wax again. It is difficult to get a high ph shampoo from where I m staying. What do you suggest I can use as an alternative.
I have Permagard on my mercedes and I was wondering to retain the finish etc I'm looking at the soft wash and then top up with carpro exlixir - do you think that is ok?
Thanks Santo! I spent 4 hours watching your videos lol I ended up buying soft wash a maintenance because reload is too expensive as a daily, so soft gel was the go with echo20 if I need to waterless with exlixir for the top up !
Have you used Concours Snow? That is what I'm currently using but was thinking about using Soft Wash instead. The car is only just over a week old and was sealed with Menzerna Powerlock. At the moment I do the snow foam then use Optimum No Rinse Wash and Wax. Plan is to start using Nova Jet as well.
Got as far as the second detergent - why on earth didn't you save yourself some time and mark 50mL on the foam bottle itself? Much less hassle. Lovely Alfa, by the way
I understand that you can use almost any wash product to foam up with. But I'm just curious as to why you compared 1 product that's actually sold and marketed for foaming up against a bunch of car washes. Why not compare foam products against other foam products
HI I just subscribed to ur channel, I live in Brisbane, I just had my car coated with Ceramic pro 3 weeks ago. Yesterday it was my first wash after the coating. I used Autobrite magi snow foam and meguire ultimate wash and wax for two buckets method. Do u think it is safe for my coating with magi snow foam and meguire wash and wax? If not, which product would you recommend me. I'm thinking of Bowdens snow job as I always want the thickest foam. However in ur video, u did say Bowdens Nano is the best out of all.
Would nanolicious be better for ceramic coated vehicle or combination of snow job, using snow job as pre foaming and nanolicious as a final waterless wash?
I also do have Meguiars NXT and Snowfoam Australia, would either be good as waterless wash?? Snowjob as pre wash foam then use either NXT or snowfoam aus as the final waterless wash?
What do you think about Fireball Hydrophobic Snow Foam/Shampoo as a maintenance wash by hand/foam gun?? Still doing some research and I found some sites that say more alkaline base car wash gets rid of dirt etc... for ceramic coated vehicles, what are your thoughts on that?
Thats the thing is that I don't want to waste money on product that will strip away ceramic coating, I am leaning towards NXT, Snowfoam Au which I currently use. But am thinking about fireball HSF, Nanolicious, Carpro Reset-(seems a bargin for 1L) to not strip away paint but also boost ceramic and remove dirt easier
Great video mate! I'm getting a new mazda cx5 in metallic machine grey in a couple of weeks. I opted out of the paint protection. Not really sure what it comes coated with from the factory. Which do you think would be good to start for a rookie at proper cleaning? All of your options look great!
From day to night video . The amount of time and work that goes into your videos for our entertainment and learning of car products . Never disappointed

I was happy to see the auto glam shampoo because I got it for free and I use it without rationing it

Time for a 2021/2022 snow foam vs snow foam I think Sandro
Fantastic video Sandro! I got given a Bowen’s snow foam canon for Christmas, your video gave me all the information I needed....thank you! Really appreciated 😄🇦🇺👍

Personally I feel Snow Job from Bowdens Own...I also really like the smell of it :)
Carplan trade valet hi-foam wash is amazing and if bought in 25l it costs £1.20 ($1.54) per litre!! Just as thick as snow job! Dilute 1:1
Great video mate!! Might try Bowdens to support local companies.

I sometimes think there is an element of 'boys toys' about things where a pressure washer is concerned.
The small triggers you can buy for a hosepipe work well enough and usually give just enough of a small concentrated blast that will clear mud but not do any damage.

Very nice comparison! I find meg gold class is pretty good too thx for the video!
I love the GC soap too! big fan of Meguiars Ultimate. thanks for showing the effects in a foam cannon.
That was awesome! I have only recently entered the world of detailing my car myself and the differences and minor usage applications of the gazillion products has had me quite confused. Sandro.. Dude.. YOU ARE DA MAN!
Thank you for your reply
I appreciate you getting back to me....Jim 👍👍
I found that Bowden's Own products work the best.
Great vid Sandro, a nice effort with the differing soaps, thanks mate 👍👍👍
When I tried snow job and soft wash the soft wash can out on top in my opinion

i use meguiars gold class and auto glym polar blast snow foam the auto glym is amazing
Thank you Sandro for your once again excellent and inf
ormative video.
Snow Job! I am doing my best to keep a straight face, for a 32 year old 😂
Great video bro , here in the States meguiars is easy to find and economical .
Awesome video, great info!
Keep doping what your doing ,your the best info and direct car detailing products and how too u tube channel around. :)
Very lovely video. Could you test the cheapest shampoos you can get your hands on? Would be fun to see if some do a decent job.

BOWDENS 👌
This is also a question of who you wish to support. The UK, the USA or Australian jobs.
What is the litres per minute rating on the petrol washer? Seems like an absolute beast.
It was a beast but is retired in the shed for a few years now - I can’t remember the LPM but I’d guess it was something like 12-15. Well said awesome info
Hi Sandro, would you please explain what dilution ratio you used here for Meguiar's Soft Wash Gel as a snow foam?
And if that dilution ration is pH neutral?
Yes it’s pH neutral and at 1:10 (I part soft wash to 10 parts water)
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thanks so much for your reply. Much appreciated 👍🏼
This was of so much help I am very grateful Sir
Is there any product that you or somebody recommend, that removes all the dirt that sticks to the car, where it is not necessary to scrub the car with a sponge?
Generally anything that’s going to do that will also be damaging to the paint and trims especially with repeated use, using lighter chemicals and detergents with safe car washing methods is a better way to go to maintain the condition of you vehicle over time.
Thicker foam seems like a gimmick. Thicker foam would mean less of the active ingredient making contact with the surface.
Opinion?
It’s really about the results and specific foams. I’ve used some that don’t work well when on the thicker side while others stick dwell and perform great in that thicker consistency and vice versa for thinner foam applications. Because products are different, you can’t always all of them the same with the same results, it’s really about assessing each one and seeing what works best for you.
Another quality informative video. Thanks
A great review! I appreciate your explanations for the subjective evaluations of the different products. Your common sense approach, adjustments to the manufacturer's suggestions and results are all greatly appreciated.
So I'll guess and say you live in the northern suburbs like Thomastown?
Great video! To me tho i wouldn't waste my money on autoglym products as a snow foam as they do not stick and add full coverage. Also I wouldn't recommend autoglym for much at all as the products are very overpriced for what you get.

I would have loved to see how these soaps go coming out of a shitty Karcher (that I'm sure a lot of us have) haha.
Great video once again
Meguiars vs Bowdens? I suppose Bowdens was made for our Aussie conditions?
Great video was looking for something like this, also have you used the CG cherry wet wax?
Thanks but no I haven’t
Thanks for the awesome video! Very helpful
Thank you Sandro great like always
Just wondering have you tried Gyeon snow foam
Any of these products can be used on PPF ie expel covered car
You should test the pro nano snow foam
What type of pressure washer have you got?
How is Meguiars NXT for snow cannons?
It works great in foam cannons
So out of Gold Class and Wash n Wax from Meguairs (as each I've heard work very well) how would NXT compare?
It would be closer to Gold Class overall, I probably prefer NTX a little more, it’s maybe a touch slicker and nicer to use but honestly I don’t think there’s a whole lot in it between them.
I’ve watched your very informative video twice now thank you.
I’ve ordered a new car that hopefully arrives in July I’m going take it to Melbourne to have a ceramic coating applied
I’ve bought a snow gun and other cleaning products from Supercheap Auto’s
Could you please tell me if meguiars gold class shampoo and conditioner is ok to use on the ceramic finish or do you think I should take it back and change it for Bowen’s snow foam....Jim 👍👍👍
Which wash would be better for a car coated with CQuartz Finest Reserve? Nanolicious?
Really helpful, thanks!
Nanolicious!!
Thank you
If that hi pressure water machine HOT + COLD or only cold ?
Great video Sandro.
what about carpan one ? as its cheap see in uk , thank you for your video you taught me a lot all in 15 minutes
Have you ever used chemical guys or Adam's products? Like your vids and would like your opinion.
love the vid i really liked nanolicous but i found snow not long ago and i am in love lol. Have you used it and what are your thourts
thank you for your input and hope to see more vids soon

Nanolicous is brilliant stuff!
Great video, any recommendations on the snow cannons themselves? Have a ryobi pressure washer.
Car Craft Auto Detailing Thank you for your great solutions. Will definitely try all your suggestions.
Great video!!!! What’s the PSI and GPM of your pressure washer?
Car Craft Auto Detailing Thanks Sandro! 12 liters is about 3 GPM. I have a 2800 PSI 2.5 GPM PW. Works great for foam.
Great thanks for that very much appreciated. Looks like I'll have another big order coming up for Waxit soon.
Great video your the best
what lance are you using
Got as far as the second detergent - why on earth didn't you save yourself some time and mark 50mL on the foam bottle itself? Much less hassle. Lovely Alfa, by the way
Cz its always advised to put warm water in the foam cannon bottle first, and then add the car wash shampoo.
Hey i need help, I have the same pressure washer, what connector/adapters did you use to connect the snow foam lance?
I’m from Melbourne also where was the pressure washer supplier?
Thank you so much man!
Subscribed 👌🏼👌🏼
great video
alfa *.* i have a gtv 916
valet pro ph neutral snow foam
I understand that you can use almost any wash product to foam up with. But I'm just curious as to why you compared 1 product that's actually sold and marketed for foaming up against a bunch of car washes. Why not compare foam products against other foam products
What is snow foam??
HI I just subscribed to ur channel, I live in Brisbane, I just had my car coated with Ceramic pro 3 weeks ago. Yesterday it was my first wash after the coating. I used Autobrite magi snow foam and meguire ultimate wash and wax for two buckets method. Do u think it is safe for my coating with magi snow foam and meguire wash and wax? If not, which product would you recommend me. I'm thinking of Bowdens snow job as I always want the thickest foam. However in ur video, u did say Bowdens Nano is the best out of all.
Car Craft Auto Detailing thanks for ur reply,
sorry, i got another question to ask. Is it good to wash our car with rain water? I have a water tank, and i often wash my car with rain water.
Thanks I'm going to try out Bowden snow job for pre-wash and Bowden Nanolicious for two buckets method.
Bowdens. Not Bowens mate haha
Yeah hahah a lot of people do haha
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing i don't think Dan would be too unhappy with such a great review Sandro....good job mate!
I have ceramic coating and what do you recommend to use either online purchase or through my detailer in Sydney?
Hi Sandro, not sure if this has been covered before but what pressure washer do you use/recommend? Petrol or Electric and how many PSI? Cheers
Thanks for the prompt reply and that was super helpful. Thanks heaps. I’m shopping for one now and will keep you posted!
Cheers
By the way, I hope maybe I’ve inspired a topic for another post! 👍😁
What pressure washer do you use mate?
Very cheap for something that powerful!
Just putting it out there, the Bow part of the name is pronounced like Bow down, not Bow tie
its boden ,thats how its said in australia at least? just add the g and you have it made, bogen car wash, lol :)
@@7071t6 Nah mate, my name is pronounced how I said it, and so is theirs... Go and watch their videos. It's not "boden" trust me...
Great video mate! I'm getting a new mazda cx5 in metallic machine grey in a couple of weeks. I opted out of the paint protection. Not really sure what it comes coated with from the factory. Which do you think would be good to start for a rookie at proper cleaning? All of your options look great!
This is a great video. Thanks!
Hey mate. Question. @11:41 what's that blue gadget under the rear tyre ??
LOL, no one has picked this up yet..
Cheers
Ahh !!! Very good. I want one now. It's frustrating when trying to pressure wash and the hose gets caught under the tyre. Who sells them ?
