My buddy who has a subie says it sounds just like his before he went to 3". I thought about getting rid of the cat and keeping the resonator but was afraid of it being too loud or bringing the inner civic out lol

Actually it is a bit too loud to where you gotta give it less throttle when you are cruising/daily driving, especially from a red light. Its right on the line with of being too loud and being acceptable. Im getting a muffler soon, as im running a 2.25 pipe instead of a muffler. I have a smaller resonator than the OEM one so it is a bit louder too.

I had a white ej8 coupe with these headers on, with a muffler delete. Sounded pretty badass but I crashed it haha. Just bought a silver 98 coupe just like yours and installed the headers yesterday. Idk if I should go straight piped or just muffler delete because even the muffler delete was too loud 🤣

There is no adapter for it, On the website, it says that it would need to be spot welded. My 3-bolt flange was welded on, So After unbolting the Cat(2-bolt flange).. I cut the 3-bolt flange side of the cat off, leaving me with a cat with both flanges on, include the 3-bolt flanges, so on the exhaust system, where there would be a 3-bolt flange is all gone, leaving me with bare pipes. After that I installed headers, the downpipe, and the test pipe(2-bolt flange side) and drove like that to the guys that welded the 3-bolt flange of the test pipe, to the oem piping. Other than that, you can weld the test pipe to the OEM 3-bolt flange easily. Or you can just buy 2.5 piping all the way along with the headers + downpipe and test pipe. Mine was cheaply done, but it works :D
Dont forget that the test pipe that comes with it is 4-Way Adjustable. So if you do get it welded, you need to weld up the "adjustable" parts too, or else you will get minor exhaust leaks on the 3 spots
Okay ill check it out when it gets here. I weld as a hobby so ill probably just cut off ends of the cat and weld up new flanges. Or i might go cat-less, not sure yet cause i dont wanna run a muffler. I just have a side exit with factory resonator and a cat. Scared to delete the cat because of it being too loud lol. Just curious what im in for. Thanks for replying quick man. Same for me lol, i have it all on OEM piping. But if you have the stock resonator and get a decent muffler, like the Greddy Evo2 in my other video, or maybe a HKS, it wont be loud as in raspy, it will be very muffled but loud in a way lol. on the video with the Greddy muffler, im running a smaller resonator, if i had the stock one, it would be perfect
they fit perfectly fine. the downpipe is 2.5 inches, so if you have a stock Catalytic Converter, the flanges wont line up. When you order these headers, it comes with a Test pipe, Gaskets, and hardware, so you would have to use the test pipe to make the headers connect. or you could just buy a 2.5 inch Cat. I just went to a muffler shop and have them cut my take my cat off, and then cut the stock flanges, having them weld the test pipe.
depends how long the resonator is, if u want the deeper tone with the 3" then you should get the Vibrant ultra-Quiet Resonator, it wont make it ultra-quiet like the name, but it'll make it have a really deep tone because the resonator, but still loud because the 3 inch straight pipe
@@tohkamocha Iv actually got a del sol with a buddy club spec 2 exhuast off of a civic. I got it cut and welded to fit the shorter del sol. Do you think I could still run a similar setup to yours if I put on some UEL headers on with the buddy club?

@@findingwhoasked4649 but just know they they're D series universal, so the depends what car, it will either hang low, or perfect, my friend had his del Sol slammed so maybe you'll have good clearance, mine was not good at all and had to raise the car a lot

Almost all 4cyl would sound like this with an UEL header! Just 2 pipes has to be at least 30% longer than the other 2.

Yeah, no cat, no resonator, but those pieces were cut off from the stock piping, so it's stock piping with the parts replaced with a straight pipe
Also an adapter to fit on the header's 2.5 inch collector, yeah it's a cheap setup
