Although many fans, including Nostalgia Critic himself, dislike Etrigan's TNBA episode, arguing that the supernatural aspects of Klarion and Etrigan do not fit Batman's stories, I respectfully disagree. Not only does it make sense to see Batman collaborate with Etrigan (since both characters live in the same city), but it's also quite fascinating to see the Dark Knight forced to fight an enemy like Klarion, who, despite being just a child, is a threat completely outside of Bruce's comfort zone and one who possesses powers so extremely dangerous that he could even make Ra's al Ghul look ridiculous in comparison. In fact, it can be seen in "Batman Beyond" that Bruce still remembers Klarion with fear.
Klarion is definitely not a Child you can't call a Demon manifesting on Earth a Child. It's like calling a 39 year old who Drives a Car has a Business and has a Fighting career a Child it just does not work.

In a shocking turn of events, it turns out that Jack Kirby was pretty good at writing and drawing comic books. I seriously cannot possibly express my admiration for the man sufficiently, a true master of the craft.
I knew about Etrigan's first crossover with Batman Beyond already cause I actually used to own that same issue, only I didn't get it from a Jell-O offer like Ted did. That's also some pretty good cel-shaded motion capture animation for Etri-James.
I like to think that the reason Klarion calls Etrigan "Uncle Jason" isn't simply because such familiarity pisses off the Demon, but because deep down the Witch Boy enjoys his company every time they meet and even considers him a father figure to hang out with. That being said, the relationship between Klarion and Etrigan would be one of the few in which the villain has for the hero an affection that is not caused by s*xual attraction and/or a prior intimate past with them
It's amazing how you actually got a real demon to collab in this video! Especially a famous one like Etrigan, he's pretty busy nowadays with his coffee company.

Yeah, I prefer it to "A Knight of Shadows," though I do appreciate "Knight" for its "Green-Lantern-and-yellow"-style stealth reference to Etrigan's comic-book weakness (iron). I'd have missed it entirely, except they (wisely IMO) gave Martian Manhunter better-focused abilities as a character on this show, so you almost never see him transform into a denser substance instead of turning intangible.
Etrijames' dialogue and character gave me too many good laughs in this vid - ratatoulie, wanting to do a watchmojo video throughout and then actually running it at the end, the cheerleader chant out of the ertrigan summoning - amazing. and to pick a seasonal topic so specific you'd be hardpressed to find people in THIS community questioning it? As someone who will come up with a concept in my head but basically refine it as I talk to people about it, I love Jack Kirby. I don’t know if that story is the same to how my writing works but I’ll start telling my friends my basic ideas and the rest just comes out as I’m talking. It’s not always the best way to write but at the same time it’s a good way to brain storm for people that can’t get ideas straight in their mind like me.
Something pretty interesting about "The Demon Within" is the friendly conversation Klarion and Tim share in the opening scene, as, in the comics continuity, both boys actually get along pretty well despite their different moralities, with Klarion even openly calling Tim his friend. That said, I wonder if Klarion ever told Tim about that time he kissed his girlfriend Stephanie Brown...
Granted, even if the blonde wife of Tim in Return of the Joker is an iteration of Stephanie, I doubt she ever interacted with anything Batman-related, Klarion included.
What I love most about Etrigan's TNBA episode is the fact that they directly adapted the original Klarion created by Jack Kirby in the 1970s. Although the later depictions of the character are pretty good, nothing could beat the white-skinned evil teenage brat obsessed with eating candy and committing antics from Kirby's comics. That said, it's a shame that the original Klarion made very few appearances before being completely rebooted with the post-Crisis continuity. It is at least a consolation that Jack Kirby's Klarion was featured in TNBA and other animated shows like "Young Justice" and "Justice League Action"
Helps that it's also part of the DCAU proper canon by its authors. Hope they'll do the same with the other comics, like the "Two-Timer" tale... rest in peace, good old Richard Moll.

Honestly he could have two of them the first being what you just mentioned and the second being a host of an angelic being who doesn't like etrigan simply on the basis that he's a demon and to the angel all demons are evil but the only reason the angel begrudgingly works with etrigan is because it knows doing so is for the greater good

I just stumbled upon this channel, grew up with the DCAU and this channels content is pure quality. Etrigan is underrated, one of my favorite DC characters and favorite episodes from the DCAU. I hope Gunn adds him to the upcoming DCU. He has a chance to become a household name like the MCU did with Rocket, Drax, Dr Strange, etc. who wouldn’t love a rhyming demon? I think a cool host for Etrigan would be Zatanna. They both have talkining gimmick tied to their character: Zatanna speaks backwards to use magic, Etrigan only speaks in rhymes.

I think a cool host for Etrigan would be Zatanna. They both have talkining gimmick tied to their character: Zatanna speaks backwards to use magic, Etrigan only speaks in rhymes.
I refuse to believe that like every single person that uses youtube fairly reguarly (even less than other social media) isn't just trippin' on life somehow.
