Nice to see you making your own gaskets. I have an old Massey that parts are nearly impossible to find. I had to rebuild it several years ago and I couldn't find any engine gaskets except for the head gasket. My dad showed me how to cut gaskets like a pro with a ball peen hammer. It's quick, its easy and you get perfect gaskets every time. It was a trick he learned during WWII working on aircraft engines. Nice video! It's refreshing seeing younger folks like yourself maintaining and keeping old iron running. Keep up the good work.
Those tractors usually leak oil at the brake rod seals that go into the axle tubes. Always good to change em on an old tractor like that. Only a few bucks each.
Awesome video. My manual doesnt show things and this helped me actually find the axle site bolt n fill port. Great job. Please post the seal change video too
The fords with drum brakes used 303. wet brakes use the universal trans hydraulic. New Holland still sells it as well as agstores such as tractor supply . Even available at walmart
Scraping the edge with a razor blade, using a file on the edge seems like a bad idea. You're risking getting that trash in your gear box, especially metal shavings. Also, cork breaks off in little pieces when you cut it. I would have traced the top plate and cut the cork before placing over the hole.
I did change the seals. I can’t believe I didn’t post a video. I remember filming but things Musta got busy and I didn’t finish the edit. I have to go dig up that add I did change the seals. I can’t stand having a tractor leak.
I sure feel like it was about 8 gallons in the rear differential. you wanna check the specs for sure. There is that sight plug that you pour until you see it come out.

You don't need cork just put a thin layer of great stuff on it .
good job keep posting
Thanks, appreciate the kind comment.
Where is the rear differential drain plug???
Did you make a video on fixing the leak
How do I get the drain plug lose its really tight on I’m guessing the threads are probably rusted
Did you ever replace the brake rod seals?
That would be a good video.

Live Free do you have that brake repair video up? I have a Ford 4400 with the same issue. I’ve searched the web for a video to no avail. All the best!
@@livefree6878 I hope you posted it, mine are leaking. How is it done ?
Differential fluid wasn't drained?
From the looks of that dipstick string and a grinding noise I don't think there was much to drain out.LOL....
U mite want to put some better rubber seals on gear stick water going in there
Good job
Do you know what size that drain bolt is?
Anybody help with changing a hydrolic pump from a 1969 ford 4400?
Is your hydraulic pump in the nose with the power steering cylinder?
how many gallons did the differential end up taking
