*I usually kick back in my Tahoe during my breaks and lunch breaks, THANK YOU!!! Im definitely doing this this weekend now i can finally layback during my breaks lol!!*
I cant say thank you enough for this. I have hated this about my vehicle. I need to be able to sleep in my truck vehicle but I have to much stuff in the back to sleep back there. I also have to sit in the front and be able to get out easily.
It a round nut so you can't grip on it to spin it forward you have to cut it off. I just did mine I guess us Tahoes dont have the springs just the nut.
Thanks for the info. Not sure if I’m looking at the proper angle but looks like the passenger seat is slid more forward than the drivers seat? Causing the gap between the back seat? If so you probably already figured it out. May not needed the notch cut?
Nope it won’t slide forward enough to clear the back seat. I didn’t cut a notch on the passenger because just removing the nut makes it go back far enough. I just wanted the driver seat to go back as far as possible
Well, there might be a reason for the default angle, at least for the driver side. It can prevent accidents if there is a runaway on the motor for the back rest. Since the seats are the same for left hand and right hand driving it would explain why they are on both sides. However, it does not explain why the spring is only on the right side.
Yeah, this is def. a return spring to keep the motor from wearing out. There's probably a higher torque load on the motor at the start of the lift - It may be fine if you use it less and baby the mechanism, but for some of the guys in the comments taking every-day lunch naps.. ;) It'll probably wear out the motor, I engineer stuff like this. The motor will probably wear out faster than you'd think, it's simply spec'd for the load it was designed for. I would actually be more worried about the wiring harness, there's a chance the current draw is now higher than the design spec too. It'll likely just melt the connector or something.
No problems yet. The further you go back the more strain on the motor. Specifically going back up. As long as you don’t go all the way back every time you go for a drive then you should be good 👍🏻
6:55 it’s because the passenger seat it further forward on the rails than the driver side currently is. Push it back more on the rails and it will be sitting as far back as the driver seat is…
@@jeffdeshong bro it’s right in your video 😂😂 look at where the seat is at on the rails. Not the back rest but the actual rails the seat slides on 🙄 the passenger seat is forward more on the rails than the driver seat is
@@christophersmokeyday622 that doesn’t matter at all. The seat can’t go back farther because it’s being stopped, it’s really that simple. Sorry you can’t understand.
6:32 you pinecone.. you literally said this is as far back as it goes and tried to say it doesn’t go as far as the driver seat, when the driver seat is farther back on the rails than the passenger is
This is a bet I have a 2004 GMC Sierra I just got and man I can’t even sleep in here definitely doing this tomorrow I can’t believe you pay hella money for it to be so uncomfortable tbh and then the thing that pumps up the seat is broke I guess because it won’t decompress the air

I just did my driver's seat ('06 Denali XL) and it feels like a new truck. Lunch break naps are going to hit different for sure!

Now I got so much room for "Activities' !!! 💀
Nice! Thanks bro! Been sleeping sitting up since 03…this is gonna change things up a bit.

If it is just a nut. Thear appears to be more threds on done the shafte. Dide you try just scrolling the nut done further on the shaft.🤔
Yes you could do that

I got the lever too. Is like to see someone do this video for the lever seat 07 Tahoe

Do you think this will work on a 2011 Escalade?
If the seats are set up the same way. If it has the rod that moves and a nut that stops it, it should work.
Can you put the seats more foward then decline them back more to get it completely flat ?
How did you get that white thing behind the spring off
@@JorgeAlmanza-o7t I didn’t
If you push the seat forward and remove the headrest. It should recline back plum with the back seat.
What is that spring for? Is it bad if you cut it off?
That’s my question too I’d like to do it but if it’s a safety feature then I’ll leave it be
Did you ever find out what that spring you cut does?
Probaby to build tension to help lift the back up again to go easy on the motor.

Have you had any motor problems with this? I would think that’s there to protect the motor from potentially going too far in one direction

Good to know, going to do this thank you!
Eso mismo crees que se pueda para las de atrás para hacer reclinables las dos bancas traceras ??
Yeah should work. The seat motor should be the same
this the same mechanism on most all seats with button adjusting?
Not 100% sure
dope mod , thanks for the video bro
Nice video, too bad my trucks a single cab 😂😢
Anyone knows how to modify the seats for more leg room
is this mod still working good for you as of june 2024 ?
Yup working great
Would it work for the seats with the lever
I’m not sure actually, if it has the same rod and nut stopping it, then it should work.
Ok, so what's the verdict? Did you find a way to get the lever activated on to go back further
I can NOT stand to try to sleep in them
Is it still working or did this motor blow?
Still working

One of my favorite mods so far lol
Genuis
Well I respect 🫡 your decision but I wouldn’t do this to my 06 Escalade platinum ESV 😣
Comfort > everything else
06 Chevy silverado not the same.. has a rod with teeth and where the teeth stop is why it won't go back further😢
Is your seat electric or manual
SMH... "there is a spring here, I know we don't need it". RUclips can be a great resource sometimes, but not all the time, clearly.
