I am a fairly Young man that lives in Michigan and I want to start a sign collection of my own so when I stumble upon your channel and find this video I thought that was really cool!
I love road signs I like to collect and search for them just like you I find them in antique stores and flea markets which are very cool. Question is how much money was spent on these because I have been looking at them and some are alot of money. Also not that many salvage yards im not sure let you in anymore well where i come from.
Ive been collecting signs for many years and also live in Indiana (right by where your Lake/Porter county sign is from actually) I would like to check this place in Michigan out, but I only collect signs that have a place on them. Examples are state route, interstate (with the state name) county signs, scenic drives, stuff with city names on it etc... Did this place have any of those? Its a long drive for me and I was just wondering if its worth the trip. Thanks.
I am sorry to see your comment now from a year ago! You never really know what they will have in stock, but a majority is warning and regulatory signs. They had lots of street name signs. Michigan-specific, they had some Kalamazoo bus stop signs. I did not see any state routes, interstate or other local interest type location signs - I probably would have grabbed them!
@SignPicker thanks for the reply. I did drive out there on my way to the Gilmore Auto Museum. They didn't have anything that interested me, but it was a cool little shop. If I'm I'm the area again I'd stop.
I usually use eBay to find the stuff that I can’t get in antique stores or salvage places like this - it’s usually pretty specific, since I have to pay shipping, etc.
Thanks for stopping out. Hope to see you again soon! facebook.com/RescuedMetals/
I was lucky to meet a sign worker from the D.O.T who gave me two
What’s the pricing like at this salvage place? Just current scrap metal pricing?
I recall it to be $4/pound when I went last year.

Awesome - thank you for the feedback and for following! Good luck on your sign hunt
@@SignPicker thanks! 😊

Sorry I missed your comment months ago. All the signs in this video cost me around $110 or so.

Do you have a deer crossing ahead sign?
Funny enough, I don't believe that I do.
I have bought a few signs off EBAY and some were not too bad, but usually summer swap meets. I need to make a better video of my signs.
