Hot take before watching this video: People don't zipper merge because they see the signs and arrows five or ten blocks' distance ahead. Some advance notice is necessary, but everybody sees the blockade too far in advance, especially on lower speed city streets. EDIT now that I watched: Yep. And then everybody who is now stuck in traffic is mad because other people flew by. And when the clog gets several blocks down, everybody is upset because nobody can get through, AKA a traffic jam. At least in the cities (off highways), it almost would be better to give a very last minute notice with none of those huge yellow light arrow signs.

The "Except When Turning Right" sign would've been used with a stop sign. If you're going left or straight, you need to stop, but if you're going right, you don't.

0:17 I could be completely wrong about this, but in the area I’m from, (PA) there isn’t a difference. In fact, I frequently drive by a road, with a no outlet and dead end sign on THE SAME POLE! It’s insane to me that the municipality messed that up! Other than a couple odd streets out, every “road leading directly to… nothing…” in my area is a no outlet. Of course other township towards the south and/or west of the US know traffic law’s better, apparently. I was so excited to see you make a video on this, because no outlet streets, are the reason I got into signs! Why do I like going down no outlet streets? Not that you asked, but I have no clue. Today, my no outlet sign collection turned into an EVERY street sign collection! Now I have 7 no outlet signs, 1 dead end sign (because they aren’t common in the area) and a grand total collection of about 65 signs!

I have Exempt for a railroad. Sign drought. This summer I got very little. My favorite was S with line thru it meaning, no salt. I think it was a Colorado one and he had multiples for $5

The sign at 0:07, Chick Fil A has been using a variant of that in their parking lots. The new one in Loveland, CO off of I-25 has them, mine in Cheyenne WY also has them. Except it doesn't say school crossing.

There's a bunch of oddball signs near me. Examples include: An advisory speed sign with the colors of a speed limit sign A Right Lane Ends(symbolic) sign in a white square with a black border And a Right Lane Must Turn Right sign in a yellow diamond with a black border. The locations respectively are: Dollar General on Old US 35 in Jamestown Centre Drive in Beavercreek OH 4/235 Southbound approaching New Carlisle and Upper Valley Pike in Huber Heights Yes these are in Ohio, near Dayton, but I assure you they'd look best in a sign collection.

In the Madison, Wisconsin area, you can find a lot of warning signs on traffic islands with only one arrow. Funnily enough, the federal MUTCD explicitly allows this, but it is not illustrated in the 2009 edition (Wisconsin has yet to publish their amendments to the 2024 edition).

Wow! That's a nice haul. I got a traffic orange light in an Eagle housing with a bunch of piping on it. I want to light it, put in a glass caution arrow, but it looks complex. Not exactly sure how it was used, but $40. Hoping I might find a sign or 2 at the big swap this weekend.

They are usually used on a specific brand of reflective sheeting. They aren’t anything special.
