Great idea Bob to make a template for yourself around the led housings and punch the locations out! Saved the County thousands. That's why "you the man" the SIGNMAN! Stay safe

Where do you purchase blank ACM, Acrylic and Aluminum sheets

I buy aluminum blanks from Zap Manufacturing in Grass Valley California. I only make traffic signs so I just use aluminum blanks.

Hi Bob, Could you make a video on how to get old reflective that has been worn out over the years off an aluminum blank to refurbish the sign?

Two ways to remove the sheeting. Option #1- Nuclear bomb, although it could damage the sign. Option#2- Seek professional help to remove sheeting. I use ZAP Manufacturing. Removing the sheeting is like fighting a badger for a bologna sandwich. Check out their video. www.zapmfg.com/video_flv.html

3M does not provide warranty when applying new sheeting on existing one without removing it

3M warranty has never been an issue with me. I have never had an issue with sheeting. If this ever did fail 3M prorated warranty would only pay for the sheeting. The dollar amount would only be a few dollars. The cost of a new sign is $1800 dollars, so we have saved more than the warranty could ever save.

nice rebuild bob, i've got a tapco stop sign that must have a bad battery cuz it works some days and wont on others. i've checked the solar output voltage and that is good, so i think the battery wont hold a charge for very long...

If it flashes 24/7 then it’s probably the battery. This system I removed couldn’t rest enough to recharge the batteries. The solar out put was good. They were installed in 2016. Mt Tapco rep said to replace battery’s every 5 years or sooner.
