Thanks for sharing how you balance an engine. Your special machinery is neat and I know it's made it easier but your balance beam you made works great too. Thanks again Bill.
Another great video Bill please keep them coming! After your tire grinding one you got me fired up about pulling again and I bought another set of rims. Still looking for a set of tires to cut. Also bought another pulling tractor!
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 I bought a Massy Harris 44 row crop narrow front. Going to try putting a 265 flat head out of a combine in it. Pulling 4500-5500. It has 16.9-38 radials on it that would be good ones to cut. Still looking for a pair of 18.4-38 to cut for my 460 farmall. Thanks for the reply. Also keep up the tractor church!!
Thanks for sharing. You have come a long way sir. I'm sure you spent a lot of time fine tuning along the way. You did what it took to get the job done.
Oooh, that’s good stuff! I made an attempt to build a 2.3 liter rocket when I was 19. Of course I had no clue how to do it. I managed to get the reciprocating pieces to weigh out properly, but the rotating assembly didn’t get any attention. Didn’t matter, I got a defective cam from Ford Motorsport and it wouldn’t rev past 4k anyway! At which point I sold it and bought a V8…😂 Thanks for the show! Bless’ns to ya sir, Tedd
Hi Bill! Back in 2006 my local region lost a legendary puller, farmer, and all around fixit guy. He could build things that had the smart guys scratchin their heads. And they WORKED! Well a heart attack took him and like usual, the kids were clever ,but didn't take over his endeavors, so everything he had was sold in an estate type sale--- Go there, make an offer and buy from an executor or pay a marked price. It was pretty quiet as it was a somber occasion. I was there getting some things he had that I needed and I went there for them. Well, I got those things and watched people moving around with purpose. They'd go to this building ,look in for a bit and go to another building , look in and go to yet another. They were looking for something. I thought for a good bit and decided they were looking for the machine tools he'd used to CREATE things with. He didn't HAVE a machine shop!! This guy had created all these gems in his life with torches, hammers, welders, grinders and the like. HE JUST KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOIN!! I finally asked one of the searchers and he confirmed my guess. "Where's the machine shop???" they;d ask. I pointed to the welder and torch there along the wall... they still looked ,because they didn't believe he could have done the things he did with such crude tools. You and him are on the same level....purposeful genius Thanks for posting this, Bill!!
Hey, thank you for the compliment, you're too kind. I hate to hear of these craftsmen passing on, with no one carrying on after them. I'm blessed that two of my boys are as skilled as me, and will probably surpass me. They'll do their best to pass it to their sons when they have kids. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
That was very impressive Bill i have a question how do you blanch the connecting rods on each end if you could share and show us I would appreciate that Ron, thanks God Bless
I use to build them engine dampers that go on the crank And damping devices. I know right where you are coming from. Brings back memories. You checking that crank is the same way we would check balance shafts. The only difference in a balance shaft you are checking unbalance wieght . Many of the newer engines of today run them. That why they turn so many R P M
That is why when they change from cast iron pistons to aluminum in the two cylinders and people wonder why they have more vibration they balanced the cast pistons on the crank
You are amazing!!! God bless 🙏🙏🙏

Great Calvin! Tell me what you got and what class you'll pull.

Great video
Impressive!
Always thought a person balanced their engine parts to keep the pistons from wanting to change slots as you drove down the road!
That's one l've never heard!😆

Thats great video an very informative. God bless
Very impressive the man is telling the truth
That's awesome Bill. I truly enjoy your videos
I appreciate that!
Very interesting video! I’ve heard about engine balancing but never seen it before
Love your video

Thank for the learning 🙏 class 😮very interesting
My pleasure Frank.
Actually learned something

Hey Jimmy! I'll work on that.
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 thanks Bill
Yeap, I know what you mean. I got an awful lot of cyfern and gusintas done back in the day with just a pencil. Very interesting video. I enjoyed it 👍
2 gusinta 4 gusinta 8... 😂😂
Gusintas are the basis for all mechanical equations!

Unbalanced engines go bang quicker. My buddies pulling truck has a big block turning 9500rpm. Gotta make sure it's not vibrating.
Amen Ron.
Hmm. A Christian with a confederate flag
I've got a bunch of 'em, I'm a big fan of the south.
