What's incredible about the men's 400m hurdles finals is that the previous world record was not only broken by Warholm, but also by Benjamin! Props to him as well!
It’s so crazy that warholm broke his WR by almost a second. That’s truly unheard of in the world of athletics. For something that normally gets broken by 100ths of a second
@@enyazogd5325 cause MJ broke by a small margin a 27yo record from my compatriot Mennea and after a month took down another 34/100 which on a sub20 race is a huge improvement. it reminded me of KW's 400h in tokyo. Bolt's record on the 200 flat is impressive but not as much as MJ's
Rojas broke a record that had stood forever, and Warholm would have shattered the record for the 400m sprint at the pace he set. Easily the best record breaking moments at the Tokyo Games.
Rojas felt like the accomplishment of a quest but I think she can go a lot further. Warholm shook the entire track and field world didn't think this time was possible
That and the men’s 800m from 2012 are my favs. I had been telling everybody who would listen that the 400m hurdles would be THE hype event of the Games because of the top 3 guys and so happy for them all that it turned out that it was.
Rojas shattered an incredible world record set by another incredible athlete. She will be the best triple long jumper in history without a doubt with every year that passes. Amazing athlete.
The fact that Rojas obliterated 20+ year WR on the last try is truly amazing The best day at Tokyo, Rojas's WR, shared gold in men's high jump and the literate nobody winning men's 100m out of wedlock (I mean this as a high praise).
Or the women's 1500m. In fact Faith Kipyagon's olympic record isn't even shown here dispite the title claiming this clip shows ALL world and Olympic records.
Elaine’s 10.61 was done against a -0.6 headwind. If it was under the max allowable +2.0 tail wind, it would have been around 10.47. Despite that, she Still broke Flo Jo’s Olympic Record from 88.
Where do you get your wind advantage calculations? Do you have a website you recommend? I know that 2 tailwind is around 0.1s in the 100m and that headwind had a bigger impact on the time comparatively.
@@SilencedButNotForgotten Ooops, didn't know that..I just read on it. Apparently the drug (oxycodone) IS NOT a performance enhancing drug but a pain medication...LMAO. Like I said, they should just allow doping because they are all doping
Thanks for this post, because I can see Ryan Crouser cool appearance from 2:24. Excellent performance by him : all of his throws were over 22m, one of them reached 23.30m which is a new OR.
Italy, Canada, Sweden and Norway all had more individual golds in men's track and field this year than the US, Kenya, Ethiopia and Jamaica. Doubt we'll ever see that again.
Do you think it has something to do with Tokyo olympics being delayed for one year so a lot of athletes fell from training and others got better with additional one year they got. In think Paris we will see USA, Jamaica and Kenya claiming most medals like 2016 and before
Yes, PEDS have pushed athletes almost as far as they can go. The rest of the world is slowly making up for that advantage now and will soon catch up to the PEDS users. Look how the 100m mens record went since 1896. It made very small upgrades till the late 1960's, then exploded in the 1970's to 2000's (where PEDS were in heavy use) and now barely moves.
This is incorrect not every record as stated is shown. Faith Kipyagon's outstanding 1500m olympic record is missing. For some reason that great race has not been uploaded at all by this channel. Faith's brilliance seems to get overlooked far too much. Much of the media have constantly underrated her incredible talent and in many quarters even tried to claim her victory was an upset with her victory over Sifan Hassan which is ridiculous as Faith has beaten Sifan 4 out of the last 5 global finals(Hassan's only victory over her was in the 2019 world championships when Faith was returning from pregnancy and had being recovering from an injury). It's baffling how many people have totally ignored Kipyagon's clear dominance at 1500m for the last 5 years. I wonder what she has to do to get the credit her outstanding achievements deserve. Also we constantly hear how remarkable Allyson Felix and Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce are being outstanding atheletes while being mothers(which indeed they are) but Faith rarely gets the same kind of credit for doing the same and infact more as she is more dominant in her event than either of the other two great atheletes.
I’m just asking myself if somebody is gonna beat Bolt record one day... Congrats to those athletes they look so happy when they realize their performances...
Ok but something about the name Warholm is just..so badass to me. Idk why. Also Rojas, been rooting for her since Doha, never knew i could be so happy for someone who isn't even close to where I'm from
The sound we hear goes through speakers and such to be recorded, making it seem late (also soun travels slower than light). You can see their reaction times online if you want
Why people make these videos and put music on it rather than the moment just blows my mind. Might have well made it in windows movie maker to capture the real 2008 vibe

Warholm has the most powerful stride I’ve ever seen in a 400m runner. It’s like a lion charging at prey.
