Tube Lights are my favorite light source for bases in the early game, when I don't have much unlocked. They provide a decent amount of light and don't need electricity. Saves a TON of time in placement over wiring the whole base for the pill Lights.

I totally get it. For me it's just not sufficient light. I tend to go with the lanterns, but I certainly understand and agree that it's a viable solution.

I love the format in which you have created this. It feels like I’m watching an Udemy course. Thank you!

Omg been playing for 300 hours now. Was a avid Fallout builder and just now realized i can "expand" some of the parts

    Nice video!!
I have one question on power basics though... When you connect things like solar panels and other technology, do you have to connect each and one of them or is it enough by doing like a closed circuit ?
When I place solar panels in my base (and basically anything that works with wire), I connect each and one of them to the battery, so everything has the same connection. I usually get confused with all my cables...So from what I see here.. What I should do is just create a closed circuit between the battery and panels ? Connect all of them in line, and then JUST THE LAST ONE to the battery ? Will all of them supply the battery? Or in the case of extractors and a generator... Will all extractors get power when in a closed circuit with only the last one connected?
Thank you so much, and sorry if I didn't explain myself quite well.

Thanks, the next part will be out in a couple of days. In short, there's no need for closed circuit. Anything you connect to each other will receive power, and there is no need to connect all to the same point. In fact, any power connector can only have 10 wires attached to it, so you should actually avoid connecting everything to the same point.

@@goodguysfree Oh okay. So the closed circuit indeed seems like an easier way... Sometimes I get mixed up with my cables lol.. I didn't even know there was a limit and I was so close !!

I like to built stone structures, at the beginning and in the missions, because you farm the material for it with the terramanipulator in a insane amount and that material you can only use for glass, stone structures and loading the terramanipulator. (Maybe more, love to get more ideas for use it....I have so much of that s*it. ;) )

I can't think of other things. No. But there are a few things in the NMS Assistant app that get repaired by it. Check it out.

@@goodguysfree I built a stone building with slanted windows for the roof. How can I close off the ends? Walls?

@scottc.5142 that really depends, but there actually are parts for this.

I find it so sad that there's really no reason to build on extreme planets :(
I always dreamed to build a base in an extreme cold planete so I could enjoy watching the big storms from the safety of my base... sadly the storm effects go away when you enter a build (or maybe that's just a thing for low graphics settings)

Now that's an interesting thing to try... My graphics card is a RTX4080. Maybe you I could meet in game, and record what the exact same place looks like. Then we could create A video showing the differences.
Would you be interested in helping me with this? If yes, please DM me on Discord?

@goodguysfree I play on Geforce Now so I can't really get a good quality for the recording, but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't change that much, their PC have a 2080 and I play with almost everything on ultra.
The thing that disappears is the strong effect of the blizzard and I also noticed that the sea disappears when I'm inside the base.

If you wouldn't mind that : please for the love of god don't overuse wireglitch in your tutorials, it's so god damn weird to use, I get it it allow building in completely new way but I would prefer to see normal building tutorials without bugs/glitches/exploits and such, cheers and thank you very much for understanding. :)

I may be showing thing I made with various glitches, but I was not explaining how to do that in this video.
The next video will also NOT include any explanation of doing any glitch-building.
Showing things I made with glitches as examples of what can be done - that's part of giving people a taste of what's still coming in future videos.
I hope that won't cause you to stop watching my content.

@@goodguysfree Nah don't worry, I'm not that soft to stop watching certain youtube videos because of "x" reason haha. :) I'm trying to understand this wire glitch on my own but if you need it to make impossible extremely good looking builds then..ugh it's kinda annoying tbh.
