I loved Joe Kapp. I was crushed when they lost the Super Bowl to the Chiefs, but I knew that they would be back in 1970. However, it didn't happen and I remember hoping that Joe would come back to the Vikings somehow. He was as tough as they came. RIP Joe Kapp.
The Vikings management should have given Kapp more money instead of letting him walk. Biggest mistake they ever made. Unimaginative bean-counters will be the death of many an enterprise.
VERY SAD ,you can't find full games of his blowouts - of the Colts - where he threw 7 touchdowns - and his regular season games in 1968 and 1969 .Who cares he lost SB 4.Kelly lost 3 Super Bowls. So did Elway. But they never threw seven touchdowns in one game.
5:08 That was awesome! He threw a flying knee at that dude. That guy was out before he hit the ground! Joe Kapp played for the BC Lions well before I was born, but I heard all about him when I was a kid. Even though I never saw him play for the Lions, I was still a fan. Then a few years ago when he punched Angelo Mosca in the head and knocked him down, that made me a bigger fan!
Don't think we have one of those posted yet at www.imasportsphile.com/category/football/....but we do have lots of Vikings videos already posted from that era....plus we have 7700 more vintage videos to post with the 2300 currently posted....so bookmark our site and stay tuned....as we post more every day.
Thanks for your interest and comments about Joe Kapp. I am in the process of posting over 2300 hours of sports, comedy and music on my web page www.imasportsphile.com and have an extensive NFL video library that covers the NFL from it's inception up through the mid-1990's.
He was tougher than nails! He played the position like a man you take dust oppose greatest of all-time Tom Brady and putting back in this era, he would whine and cry after every hit and he wouldn't last for 2 years if that, the fact of the matter is Tom Brady couldn't carry his jockstrap!!!!!
I remember watching Kapp when I was a kid. He might be the toughest guy to ever play the QB position. He had the toughness and roughness of a linebacker! That was back in the days of the Purple People Eaters. If you can’t spit out all 4 names of that infamous defensive line, you are not worthy to tote my beer! Lol !!
I was a young boy and Joe Kapp was my favorite QB to ever play. He was not afraid of Dick Butkus and when Butkus spoke about Kapp, he wished that he was on his team. When Butkus likes you, you are special!!

Alzheimer's is a horrible disease that robs both patient and family of a lifetime of memories....as our beloved Pops battled it for 8 years before turning off the lights...so our hearts at ImaSportsphile go out to Kapp & Mosca and their families.
B.C. Lions Q.B. two Grey Cups !963 a loss 1963 a win. We loved him in Canada. Don't like the remark about his throws his passes had a hole in them but he could throw the air out of a ball.

Jpe Kapp was fun to watch. He was a quarterback, but ran like a full back and seemed to enjoy contact.
The Vikings management should have given Kapp more money instead of letting him walk. Biggest mistake they ever made. Unimaginative bean-counters will be the death of many an enterprise.
Well had they kept him they probably wouldn't have reacquired Fran Tarkenton
Joe Kapp...Former QB of the BC Lions and winner of the 1964 Grey Cup...
Rest in peace Mr Kapp!
"His passes had nothing more on them but the commissioners signature." What a line.
You know how a lot of people make distinctions between old school and new school football? Well, Joe Kapp is the personification of the old school.

Kelly lost 4
His two grey cups are available on the CFL website.
I respect the guy but he had 1 good season in the NFL.

I need a rams-vikings game from the 60s/70s right about now..

rss empresas thank you will do..
At the Met in the snow?
JK is one tough hombre. Plus, he was a tough QB who is still a winner 🏆.
Joe Kapp started in the CFL and was essentially a 29 year old rookie in 1968.
Great quarterback.
Tougher than DVD packaging.
He was my hero. I'm half Mexican like Mr. Kapp. Growing up Joe Kapp and Anthony Quinn were my heroes
incredible leader

i wish football was still like this not 5 man spread 3 yard passes
Tough as nails.

Fuck you 58.....I'm laughing so hard I'm crying!

I would rather see Joe Kapp play one football game rather than see Tom Brady win 6 SB
5:09 RIP #82.
Joe was one legit tough SOB
Awesome swagg !! 4:34

Ima Sportsphile Alright , thank you.
"Joe Kapp's passes looked like ruptured ducks. But he got the job done." --Alex Karras
Tough man
1:01 Trombone player had absolutely zero situational awareness.
He was down at 00:50
Back when football was worth watching
It's sadly ironic that both Joe Kapp and Angelo Mosca are now battling Alzheimer's.

Angelo might be battling a concussion from Joe's big right hand!
the Vikings QB in between Fran tarkenton's two stints with the team.
