Did they send you a replacement for that loose port in the metal casing. Thinking if you just got a lemon and they'd replace it for a properly QC unit. It looks like a really cool sleeve if those issues were fixed.
Nothing happens until 11:40 just a bunch of SLOW unboxing , and the final conclusion is the dock sucks ass and is poorly made ..I just saved you all much time , your welcome.
Well I bought one January 2018 and the ports have just failed. Expensive item for what should be half the price or at least have better than 1 year warranty. LineDock is $300 because stupid Apple buyers have no concept of value for money. I mean, $1,000 for an iMac stand!!
Going Awesome Places They told me it’s been too long since warranty ran out. But the same model is $90 plus 25% discount. I will be opening it to fault find and let you know what failed
Awesome review... I do have the dockcase and one thing I noticed is that it overheats like crazy even if nothing is plugged in ! I don’t know if you are facing the same issue here
Apple is just trying to give us life lesson. The fact that we all F somebody but at the same time getting F by some one. Just stair at your daisy chain. You'll get it.
I've had it for three years, and in the last 3-4 months my USBs (external harddrives) are suddenly disconnected and it can't handle HDMI projection to a TV. In the last two to three days, the light has stopped turning on. Not sure if it's the cable or the case itself. If I accidentally plugged in a USB to the wrong port (i.e. the power one versus the data transfer) is there danger of somehow damaging the hardware? I reached out to the Dockcase folks but they haven't offered any real help except to test a different cable.
I know right! It was a good idea and hopefully they'll be able to make improvements but of course Apple is constantly making changes to their ports which is making things hard to keep up for third-party companies like DockCase
this case burns out after lots of usage, and doesn't work with mixers/interfaces. I've used it for about a year and it's broken. such a great idea wish it worked for what I need.
Nice review! Gotta say this saved me that money and I'll go straight for a verbatim dongle. One suggestion for you: outfit kinda nerdy, use less color and you may just follow some Zara models.
I’m glad this helped! Lol totally nerdy but I thought I’d be able to connect with the audience with the somewhat subtle but probably obvious reference t-shirt. I’ll try to get Zara to sponsor me next time 😉
Hey man I have got few questions to you regarding this product. Could you tell me what about cooling macbook pro while it stands on this dockcase, is everything fine with that? What about dirt, let's say that you keep your mac inside a bag which sometimes getting dirty inside, so there is possibility that some stuff just get into these ports, or there is also some kind of protection for it?That is why I am not really into this idea because, it protects macbook but not especially ports.
In terms of cooling, I've never had any issues with the fan running abnormally more than usual. Port wise, you're right in that there are no specific covers on the ports of the case so it's possible that dirt could get into the ports. That said, I've never run into issues with the ports not working. I hope that helps.
Hi! I’m thinking of getting either this or the Linedock, coming out this Tuesday. Would the Dockcase work for running an audio interface, external hard drive, midi controller, and Apple thunderbolt display?
Just checked out Linedock and that looks sleek although I'm curious how hefty it'll be as something with basically the thickness of a Macbook Pro. I'm assuming you're running an MBP as well? With your set up, I don't think you'll have an issue with connecting all of those devices. The audio interface would obviously go through the MBP itself but you'd have more than enough connections to set all that up. I think the difference with Dockcase is that it is really just a laptop folio that has a USB-C adapter on the side vs Linedock which is a device on its own with an ssd, battery, and dock.
@@GoingAwesomePlaces Yes, I have emailed them and it's on the way I was just worried because they never sent me a shipping confirmation so for a brief moment I thought I got scammed. Its been about a week since I ordered it, I guess I'm just spoiled from all the two day shipping packages from amazon lol.
@@gaetanom5242 Ah totally get it - still wouldn't hurt to reach out to ask them about it. I've had packages stalled because of a weird shipping hiccup. There's also the holidays too... Hopefully it comes soon!
What's been your experience with the DockCase? If you're thinking about buying it, what kind of questions do you still have?

Dude, get to the point! A 17 min video that could have been condensed to 3 min.
Thanks for watching!

Has you reached out to
Them for warranty at all? Let me know if you have luck there.

Nicholas Heidl do let me know how it goes!

"So I've been testing this out for the past couple months" 😆
Great review!
Why wouldn’t I just buy a thunderbolt to usb hub I don’t see the pint of the dock case

What about performance? How fast is the RJ45 port...?

Ah I’m sorry to hear. Looks like it’s had a good run but finally died due to west and tear. What will you be getting to replace it?
it was so close to being perfect but it needs to be an openable case where the case is part of the MacBook like a cover

Thanks for sharing your experience. From my observations of the workmanship I can say I’m not surprised. Sorry to hear it broke.
Too repetitive bro
Working on it :)
You talk too much

Does not work with audio interface does work with everything else. Well I’m not sure about apple Thunderbolt Display
Awesome review, just what I was looking for!
Appreciate you watching and dropping a comment! :)
How long did your shipping take mine is taking forever!
At the time for the Kickstarter, they were on time in terms of delivery. How long has it been for you so far? Have you e-mailed them?
