Requiem is one of the best pieces of Halo music. I don't know why I connect to it so well. I'm a space and science enthusiast, and love Rendezvous with Rama-esque SciFi mystery. And Requiem just pulls those strings perfectly haha
Almost as if a ten million year old galaxy spanning empire had more than one architect. It would make as much sense to say that Japanese temples couldn't have been made by humans because human buildings look like Egyptian pyramids.
@@AnEnemySpy456 Sort of... but the forerunners literally uploaded old consciousness to new bodies, meaning they were basically one architect. also as someone who studied art history, changes in architecture largely come out of encountering new groups with different building styles. So the Forerunners would likely experience architectural stagnation after they reached the top, with changes likely becoming simplifications on older designs as the forerunner-flood war ate away at forerunner resources. to note: the forerunners did encounter other species as they traveled, which could have served as inspiration for new styles, but their superiority complex means it would probably work out as happened with Rome: conquered structures are a novelty to get people hyped about conquest, while most buildings retain the usual look. Also as far as setting goes, the enigmatic simple structures of halo 1-3 make the forerunner structures believable. They appear simple and therefore are likely to survive millennia without need for repair (like the pyramids of the world being so long-lasting that at worse they get covered by dirt and become a hill). The designs of later games appear to be hyper-complex, which makes us think they are hyper-intelligent... yet they appear new rather than old, and therefore much of the forerunner mystique is gone. However, it makes sense because 4 decided that we would just straight up encounter two of them, thus ridding the mystery associated with their structures, intent, and name. Tbh hearing the didact call himself a forerunner is just odd...
After 343 finish the reclaimer saga, they should be create a new saga talk about the forerunner-flood and the ancient humanity, with new gameplay and dynamics
I'd love a game where you play as a Promethean serving the didact. It would start it the human-forerunner war then the forerunner flood war. Then near the end of the game we volunteer to get composed and we play as a Promethean knight. Then the final cutscene would show you getting killed by master chief on reqium.
Not every part of the art style tho. The elites, grunts, promethean designs to an extent, and lack of sentinels when they should have been there most aren’t so good
@@sentientmilkshake6059 nah it was halo. It went off of bungie's storyline as well. 4 was great. 5 was boring but still fine. Infinite is just as boring as 5
The Forerunners are one of my favorite Sci-Fi races. Don't know why, but I guess it's because there is a good chance that such a civilization could have existed or still exists in some form IRL. The possibility is out there. There is only so little that we know about the distant past after all. I love this compilation though. I'm glad you took the time to assemble this playlist.
I think the coolest part of the Forerunner race is their architecture. Their method of building in 45 degree angles and using triangles as a main part of their architecture is cool in my opinion. Also the fact that they use a lot of anti-gravity elements is also insanely cool. Like Zyl'Aaria said, this seems like a thing someone would uncover and it would boggle everyone with this exotic type of construction.
I personally think that the art-style for Halo 6 should be a mix of both. The new one doesn't look as ancient and mysterious, but the old one is less detailed and advanced.
It could be that different forerunner architects had different styles, like we know Master Builder Faber built the rings and the Ark, so that could explain the style we see there. While someone else could have built and designed Requiem and that was their style. So it would only make sense if we returned to the ark to see more of that old style.
+batterysurf Many people don't understand that both art styles are canon. The old design happened when Forerunner structures were abandoned for a long time. The new design only happens in locations that were neatly maintained and lively.
I think we have reached the apex of what we could imagine about a super advanced civilization could appear. The Forerunners and their machines, their world, their megastructures, their atmospheres... everything is so well done that I can't imagine how to make it better. But perhaps, human imagination is more resourceful than what we think now. And moreover, we can design civilizations like this in far different ways. Forerunners looks like a kind of super evoluted kind of humans, something like "what would look like human civilization in a far distant future".
Its just an estimated assessment of the array's functionality, i'd say the firing system schedule, on a scale of one to ten (1-10), 10 being mass extinction, maybe it touched +/- 1, 2.5.
just a friendly tip, i can hear the "pops" when each loop track meets, especially on the track "forerunner site." if you use the free open-source program "audacity," it helps to get rid of those pops to give you cleaner sounding track.

I was about to say, if this didn't start with Requiem I was gonna be disappointed.

Love the halo 4 forerunner music
And so we see that perhaps the different styles of music and architecture aren't so incompatible after all...

Requiem could easily work on delta halo if done right.

Unfortunately, though that's a good idea 343i had scrapped the old Forerunner art style completely when we returned to the Ark in Halo Wars 2.
