The extroverted Aphex Twin.
7542 1534 LMAO
Indeed haha
Or the Colin Furze of audio diy... 😉
for real? Never saw machines of the Aphex but I know he is a Voltage Pioneer. Love his work
You and Wintergatan are my favourite channels on whole YT. Real creators, who made tools... to create art. So damn cool. LOVELY!
how about a MarbleSynthMachine?!
how about colinfurze?
You guys are awesome!
Furze don't create art. He make cool things, becouse they are cool, not creative tools.
you should check this channel

The shit you make is some kind of insane magical wizardry and I understand none of it. but please for the love of god keep doing it.
it's pretty easy to understand, you send pixies to the correct wire, and the wav trigger sends singing pixies (i.e. sound) out according to which wire they came in.
the arduino saves the time you take between each button press and sends pixies out on the channel it's recorded in with the same timing.
manaquri There's always one.
@@XChillX42 there are lots of pixies
Why couldn’t my physics 2 lab been more like this...
Marissa Hamra haha!
I have simply never seen a comment I have agreed with more than this
'cuz you could have fun, and there is no fun allowed there...
Feel u bro
What an insane genius you are!! 😁😁😁
YES! Just got my own Big Button to work. Not as fancy as yours. But it works. And by now I'm utterly and completely hooked on building my own modular. Thanks a lot, I guess :D
One more great soul teaching the public that electronics is a wonderful art form. :-) 🦊
I like "Big Button" and I cannot lie.
Each video I'm seeing from you, I'm aching more to build a DIY Synth..
I just thought about "but which part do i start with" and it seems that this box will be it :D
Upload the code with a....... COMPUTER!!??? AHHH!
in theory you can do this with a phone.
phones have computers in them
Understatement, smart phones, or rather the ARM chips are one of the smallest and most efficient computer processors in their class ever made, at least for the consumer market.
There's an arduino microcomputer inside the box lol
@@tomm7273 As long as it's hidden in the enclosure, mom won't see it
Haha, great commentary, like an enthusiastic sport radio commenter :)
Mirodin Right? Like in a professional soccer game, but way more fun, interesting AND educational! :)
You need a tv show but tv sucks. But if it didn’t then you should have a show.
>wav trigger costs more than the drum sequencer
You can get little MP3 player modules that take an SD card, and they cost < $€2 each.
8 of them gives you a full(ish) drum kit.
I thought I was the only one who knew that spray deodorant erases Sharpie!
rubbing alcohol...? Works on pen.
Anything with alcohol will do
You'll be handy as hell in the zombie appocolyps.
youtube need more knowledge, need more people like you, thanks!!
Do you build custom synth stuff for folks? If so please respond. Peace Christo 🎶🎶👏🏻👏🏻🕺🕺👍🏻👍🏻🛸🛸🔦🔦👽👽🙏🙏🐕🐕✌🏻✌🏻
Christo Roppolo sorry Christo but no! My soldering is shoddy
I don't know why, but your face remembers me Bono Vox from U2
Look, no computer!
Except for the arduino...
hello from a computer
Mylar: Ace.
LMNC: Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
Does something need to be plugged into the clock in, or can it be used by itself with the wav trigger
this video got me way too excited at around 2:50, now this gets on my building bucket list
Why choosing Arturia MiniBrute 2S for this video if it already has it own sequencer?
for a clock and synth, this sequencer i built is for drums
You should do a tutorial on diy voltage controller like a keyboard and how you hook it up to control a oscillator
Trying to learn about making my own modulators
Very very cool...
Hey, we send you an invitation to The Creativity Podcast recently. Are you in?
Max Maker hello! I think I missed this?
LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER Jeremy just resend it.
This is so sick definitely wanna make this, Always need another drum sequencer
why do you dont use the "pinMode(pin,INPUT_PULLUP);" instad of pulldown resistors?
Mihi Gyver I don’t know anything about coding. I’ll use that next time! Thanks 🙃
its the internal pullup resistor of the chip all you have to do is proof for low level instad high. if you need help just ask ;)
7:13 gave me chills, love it
Does the sequencer have auto quantise?
Sam Gordon yeah. It’s super simple. And it’s quantised. To the clock steps.
Just killed the Tr8s lol
lol not realy. but still a nice thing ^^
LOVELY video
Didn't understand anything as always🙃
No worries. Peace Christo 🛸🎶🎶👽👽🔦🔦👍🏻👍🏻🐕🐕🙏🙏👏🏻👏🏻🕺🕺✌🏻✌🏻
Nice tutorial Sam! Im going to watch and eventually build one myself! Or I might try and make another handheld video game or maybe build a UFO!
This is fuckin' awesome! That's it, I'm building this thing to trigger Visuals from Processing as well as the drum sequencer. I'll send you the results when I've build it. Recently I made a modular visual console called P_A+L (Processing_Arduino+Lots of sensors!) and this will be a great complement. This is fantastic, cheers!
I ought to smack myself for not building more shit.
I had to build a guitar pedal of my choice to graduate physics 2. We had to source the parts that weren't on hand if we wanted to make something cool, and even draw, treat, cut, and print the circuit boards ourselves based on the schematics we had to create or find online.
When the project started I was dumfounded our teacher thought we could handle this, and when it was done I was more surprised I hadn't tried it before. There's not much out there more rewarding. Everyone should build more shit, it makes the world a little bit better.
wise words
Thank you for everything you do on your website and RUclips! You've made a fantastic channel unique in so many ways. Here's to 500k this year :)
i literally have everything on this build list already in my electronics stash, except the damn standoffs >:(
SSSSSSam!!! You added the following: "THERE HAS BEEN A MODIFICATION TO THE ABOVE IMAGE. the wire going off to the BIG BUTTON LED. is now on pin A3, so just solder that wire to the point on the stripboard that is connected to the arduino pin labelled A3" just after I printed the dang drawing! BUT! Where does the 3-pin D. C. power jack get connected? Saaaam!
Oh good.....you remembered to add the 303....
You know by far one of the most fun and simple to use drum sequencers is the Boss DR-660 drum machine. The sounds are kinda crap though. If only I had a kind of MIDI break-out trigger box with MIDI Velocity controlled VCAs I could run analog drum modules through so that I can trigger any drum module with velocity to volume control on every sound! I'm sure that would be supper expensive to set up in Eurorack format. :(
I have the Raleigh Chopper (Lime Green since I was 10 now I'm 62). But where can I find some negative legs of some LEDs?
Please, make a New version this project with midi out. To Control Midi sound modules... Its great !! God bless you.
Great concept! I have several sequencers but I might gonna try this, looks like a fun way to jam. btw, have you ever overfed your furbys to turn them evil? Might be an option for your furby organ. Or doesn't it work with the original models? ruclips.net/video/R5O6jae9kYM/видео.html
I just built this and i'm having some problems, mainly its the big button and its LED. when I press the big button nothing registers at all and nothing happens with the LED. I know the circuit is working because the FILL button works. I'm not good at programming but can understand whats going on. Can someone explain why the big button that is connected to A5 is called pin 19 in the code, as there is no pin 19 on the NANO. Also Big button LED which is connected to A3 is called pin 20.
Cracking channel..wish i could spend more time doing stuff like this, rather than fixing other peoples stuff.
can you explain how the clock input is handled in the arduino? i see no reading of clkIn. the pinmode is set to input, but i can't find where the input is actually used
ok, i changed the line for the interrupt to this: attachInterrupt(digitalPinToInterrupt(clkIn), isr, RISING )
Does this type of sequencer have a name? A clever name. Not going for "BIG BUTTON SEQUENCER".
I don't understand anything of what you're doing, I just love listening to your accent
It can seem challenging at first. If you really want to do this, it might be good to start out with a kit. Maybe a MFOS Weird Sound Generator. Or a guitar pedal from DIY guitar pedal. The 6 minute fuzz is easy. You just populate the board with the correct components according to the directions and soldier them in. Or in the case of the 6 minute fuzz, just soldier the components. Just for anyone looking to get into it, it's possible. If a chowderhead like me can do it, anyone can. Lol.
shit I might actually do this man. You are a true inspiration.
All I've ever done is replaced the fuse in a synth
I want start on coding and building sequencers. I downloaded pd and python. Anyone knows where to start in terms of terms and overall knowledge? I'll appreciate! Thank you!
Sam, sending u alot of resisters. Thankfully they don't weigh much
Just out of curiosity... are the bases of the switches on the synth bike blue? I may have ordered 20 of them :D
I love seeing you confortable with your design. This is what diy is about.
2020 and everytime I watch your videos I am amazed at how brilliant you are with electronics. You are far beyond your years. Never stop. Bring the world your incredible knowledge and amazing music. Thank you. 😁
Is your pops called Howard Jones ?
He's like edm Colin furze
do you have a 3d printer if so I got a project I am trying to take all the axiom 25 pcb and but in a box and create expression module basically just hook up to editor and fill the banks with expression pedal goodies and then but ready to go ...pitch bend can be assigned to expression pedal btw since midi 2.0 system is used.
Gotta build one with analog drum circuits instead of a Sparkfun. Total drum machine
Cool information. Shame it’s delivered in such a migraine inducing way.
I have been dreaming up a device that will do this - but then send the triggers from the big button module to midi out so I can trigger any midi drum machine ( that does not have trigger inputs)
I imagine it would be called " trigger in to midi out" - but I cannot find a eurorack module or device that does this anywhere.
Lil help please!!
I un whit the hormiguero
I saw you on Point Blank, and here I am! I'm nearly finished a resto job on a Tek 2467B 'scope and then I'm starting to build an analog synth. I'm on enough weed and tramadol that your antics make perfect sense... your delivery kind of reminds me of a mental, middle-of-the-night, staggered-in-from-the-club-hungry cookery program from the nineties. Chip butties with crisps and pepperami, sort of thing. I learned useful lessons from that, too!
Carry on!
Gerry James Edwards WHAT?
Why dont you have 12 million subscriber????
I’m binge watching all the videos I feel so nostalgic like I haven’t seen this stuff in years
also wow man 10/10 for building such awesome stuff you are totally rad man
Did I miss winning the Big Button of Bass???
Real Question.
Buup Beop Blup Blup Bleep Bleeep Bumvvvvvva .
No, its not that easy, in the video you forgot to cut the stripboard connections between the rows of pins of the arduino 😅
I'm getting serious Daft Punk vibes! 🤖🤖
Do a video on how to make something without a workshop or many tools :)
"Hopefully he doesn't get high on lead" 🤣
Man you you crazier than a snake in a hat … tops… I can see your brain tweeking a million hours a second keep the info coming subbed
If I would be making any videos, I absolutely would ask you to narrate all my vids. :-)
I love how u showed the parts makes it alot easier to find and reconstruction the idem thanks Sam keep up the amazing teaching and working your dream to the fullest

I never knew that Travis Bickle's son was into synths. Don't make any killer sounds.
Too bad for the annoying style.......part from that the projects are ok
I don't get the clock part. Can i use the drum computer without the arturia?
“... and plug it to a computer, _what ever that is_ ” 🤣
That's like, the most entertaining DIY video I have ever seen.
Mouser, Digikey and Excess all have me as a platinum buyer
omfg the synthbike
I wish you would show the mysterious shuffle function... I have to build one to know now 🤔
nice code, I had to do search al little bit to find the interrupt pin, as you wrote, it's 2 but later you used the old name 0 ...
I'm sure this has been suggested many times but is there a compilation LP containing your music?
Can you make a drum machine from old Band/ guitar hero Drum sets ????
The Digitakt killer!
what happens i u dont put a clock in? the difference is that it still makes sound but not looped? thanks!
Question can you use a sequencer with guitar? Like is it possible to build something that sequences input?
Can you make tutorial on building diy midi controller please
this box doesn't make sound on it's own, it only tells sound to... sound. So we got plug it into some... sound :D :D
What is it with your font? I've seen this font somewhere before...
Did Prodigy use some kind of similar font?
Merlin Erdogmus Similar, but i don't think it's exactly the same. I think he made it up himself. I mean, he writes it with sharpies on his stuff.
Looks similar to the font makenoise uses.
That Furby Organ definitely needs a sequencer.
very sad that the furby organ has no sequencer. otherwise
joe biden just gave me $2,000 and now i see this video. correct.
Insta subbed, cant wait to build my own. But I need to start at step one. Which I dont even know yet lol
This man needs to be stopped, but I truly can't wait to see what he comes up with before he is
Meh. Needs more cowbell. 🤪
that's what this is for
It doubles *AS* a cowbell.
Nice!
The winter olympics needs more cowbell
Have you ever done anything with pocket operators may I ask
Sick tutorial, lovely jovely loveit. But sadly, sadly it's not quite the tut I was looking for. I'm trying to build a master clock which generates a tempo sync signal in the form which a Td-3, Pocket Operators or Volcas understand. I think they generate something like 24 "clicks" per sixteenth note, similar to an audiosignal, but that's where my knowledge ends. Does anyone know how I could build such a clock?
Hello! quinxx12 im EXACTLY looking for the same
A DIY buildable hardware that can function as a tap tempo master for to give sync tempo to different devices
example: to the CV input of a isd1820, or a PO 33 ko
i want to build a diy sampler based on isd1820 chios that can have tap tempo sync in its channels
you can check Jay Wiggins channel, it has what you are looking for
www.jaywiggins.com/2017/02/21/adafruit-trinket-based-sync-track-for-teenage-engineering-pocket-operators/
I have no idea what you've did, but it was pretty cool lol!
Can we connect this with your simple diy oscillator?
