Because it really shows how close all these cars were even at different model years getting against each other and that at the end of the day it could be anyone's race depending on skill.. Driver/car setup and overall who makes the least mistakes .. All these cars were capable of beating one another and using (tsukuba.?.) as the test track with all the right and close quarters driving really shows how evenly matched they are are... Now it's just deciding which one you want to import to the USA all on your own personal preference.!!. Awesome video.!!

Surprised to see the Subaru Impreza WRX STi and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution beat the Nissan Skyline GT-R so easily with Turbo 4 cylinder against Turbo 6 cylinder.
Spec C is faster because it's making alot more HP and it's also lighter. It's supposed to be about 320HP and some 300lbs lighter too with a more aggressive suspension setup too.
wrx are always good on these shows but in reality at time attack events when both are built to a high level and equally modified, the evos wipe the floor with the wrx
wrx =/= Sti, you are talking about a WRX but not an STi. The Spec-C STi stock vs stock Evo's ...the video is the proof. But also the driver factor is key here so don't get too overconfident with your comment.
WRXs have like 200 hp while the STIs rock at 300 so you can’t compare a WRX to an Evo which have 300 as a norm, plus you forget that people bring modified cars to time attacks and it’s no surprise Evos are faster there because it’s common sense 4G63s can be tuned more easily. They compare lightly tuned, near stock cars here, not 500 hp purpose built time attack cars so what you said is completely irrelevant.

EVO was lightly tuned (exhaust), in a bad way, it lost some mid range power. In other words, it performed worse than stock. Thats why. It would be quite a bit faster otherwise. Somewhere in high 1m 6s range.

If you gave the same car to Hattori or Kurosawa, they wouldnt have been as fast or as good. Its not because its an NSX, its because Kurosawa was behind the wheel. But even then Nakaya mentioned the Zero Counter, which is something he easily does with an Evo but struggles a bit to do with an STI, as shown here.

I agree, 80-90's to early 2000's was the best Gen. Although the 2016< wrx/sti looks really good in person, same with the focus RS.
