@@forester9267 Porsche boxer engines only became reliable on track by using very expensive dry-sump lubrication systems. If Subarus used dry-sump, they'd be at least 10 grand more expensive and would have worse fuel economy! Modern Subaru engines aren't that bad but certainly not as reliable for hard track use as your standard V6 or Inline 4 engines, but boxer engines have many other advantages that make them worth it for daily driving.
Nakaya is a crazy fanboy, but got skills. Big fanboy of Lan Evo and Porsche. So it would do everythings to make his fav brands won in those battles. The shifting you saw is the best proof of it.

I think I know what happened to the WRX. Subaru’s flat-4 engines are known for having some issues with oil collecting in the cylinder head in road racing. It’s not a problem in rally due to the lower lateral g-forces, but it can make them unreliable for racetrack use. (People have figured out ways to fix this, they can also be very successful on a track too.)

The world is very well flat in motorsport not only for Subarus, but also for Porsche, Ferraris, Alfas, etc. Subarus have proven more than once in WRC that they are strong cars
That AYC controller is beast mode on a track like Tsukuba. Although, pitting these cars against each other on different tires is pointless. Why can't these comparisons ever put the cars on equal tires? Anyone that participates in real racing knows the first thing you do is require a spec tire across the board.

I remember racing a wrx when I had a mk3 astra gsi, we were doing 140 ish and then boom and I couldn't see a freekin thing! I was sat right up his chuff when the engine let go! 😳😬 I didn't know him but was gutted for him none the less
That's the Tommie Makinnen Edition. It had an anti lag system and more torque than a standard Evo. Also the Evo Zero Fighter which is not shown was the fastest and rarest Evo to come from Mitsubishi. In the UK their version was called the Evo Extreme.
@@ponta20102010 I doubt ABS is the cause of the difference here. ABS on my TMAC won't help in this type of driving. GSR is in controlled slides in those turns. Driving harder than others I think, but also making most of Evo's handling. This is the best way to drive an Evo, and where Evo's tend to compete best (sliding around bends). These conditions should suit the factory AYC parameters, which are set for driving on the limit of traction, with all four wheels on tarmac. My TMAC works best when pushed this way in these types of conditions. Dust or even damp surfaces just make things happen a little earlier. If each wheel has very different traction conditions, or you have standing water etc., then I would expect the mechanical diffs of the RS to perform better and more predictably than the GSR's AYC. IMO, NSX would probably compete better on straighter track. Rear wheel drive super cars tend to perform best at higher speeds, when AWD transmission and sedan aerodynamics losses can't compete. I imagine that GTR has a lot more to give too.

インプレッサの基本性能?基本設計?の高さが光ってるよね。他のランエボやGTR等はFMCしてあの速さ。そこに80後半~90年に開発された車で細かい所の更新だけでこの車達と肩を並べて更にそいつらよりも速さを見せる。

The drivers say that the road was dusty/slippery and the RS didn't have ABS. (GSR had ABS)
