Most of the time for vehicles in service the keys are hung up on a board in the shop. In this case of a break in well… rip lol. I’m a salesman in cali we lock up our keys in a machine but the service side does exactly what I mentioned above. I’m sure almost all dealers do the exact.

They came back 45 minutes to an hour later to steal a Cadillac. Nobody is that brave with the inside knowhow of that business. The second theft was a decoy.

Yep. Overpriced and hard to sell, and after so many months, the dealership has to pay 10% of the vehicles until they sell or are paid off….he was getting out of a couple of vehicles that were costing him money and hurting his business. I know a couple local used dealers that did this as well.
Just a mere couple of years ago that was a Don Massey Cadillac Dealership. He used to have mobile security after business hours. It's not the neighborhood, it's how diligent you are in securing your business because crime can, and does happen anywhere.

The idea that the security system was turned off would have been recorded and reported to the owner of the property with the persons name attached who was given that privilege. I guarantee that the police would have been notified immediately when the break-in occurred. This whole situation looks like a complete scam.

They would go to home depot, Kmart or some such store where they left pallets of merchandise outdoors all night & after closing, they would go & load up their truck with whatever & sell it. One day the dad wanted a new car. This is 1960's. He search the wrecking yards till he found a car like he was wanting, totaled. He bought the wreck then one night he went to the new car dealership and hot wired a new one & drove it home. He carefully removed the VIN tag off the wreck & switched it with the new car. Well, it wasn't too long after that the 2 slipped up and the both of them ended up in prison. !

You usually have about 30 sec to a min to enter the code to some alarm systems
It might not have been a monitored alarm system, just an on site alarm system with a siren. That's probably why the cops never showed
