    Great video! Thank you for posting in such detail.
    I'm wondering is a two pole 15 amp fuse will be okay to use? It's the small rectangle type and it's for automotive. Or is it better to get the glass, or like the one you have?

    Very helpful video. Just bought the same ts-30 off amazon, mine came with wago 10 gauge connectors and a plastic cover over the relay.

    • @blah987t5
      @blah987t5 3 года назад

      Also the documentation off the gopower website for the ts-30 is better than what came in the box. The documentation that came with the transfer switch didn't have labels for the lugs even though it referred to them as 1, 2, 3, 4 etc.

      The progressive dynamics version of this box is the pd5100. The installation documentation is poor but does detail replacing the circuit board controlling the switchover delay. It also specifies soldering in a wire from the j1 jumper to disable the generator 20-45 second timeout.

    I ran into the exact same problem today. Everything seemed fine. Until I tried to get power to switch and it seemed inverter had priority all the time. If I turn inverter off no problem, shore power takes over. I used the WAGOs so this will be a quick swap tomorrow. I think their diagram sucks BTW. I have no idea why you would want to prioritize your inverter. Especially if you have an RV with Air Conditioner and Microwave.

      @JoePetrakovich 3 года назад +1

      Nice, yeah the wagos should make that an easy fix. I think the priority thing is because they intended it for switching between a gas generator and shore power, and you'd want to prioritize the generator because you wouldn't want it burning the fuel and not being used.

      @infinityphotorob I had no problem running my A/C and Microwave ETC, with my Solar. You just have to Size Your Solar to accommodate Your max loads...I use my Solar as my prioritized Power source and Shore or Generator as my secondary backup source of power...

      @@DirectCurrent4u mine is sized with my electric skateboard charging in mind for peak load. 500watts for a few hrs. I used an 800watt victron. I sort of wish I went with the 1500now. As I couldn't run my vitamix blender to make margaritas. Had to do the damn generator. But my transfer switch worked flawlessly. I wish I had the budget and roof real-estate to run my air conditioner.

    I wired it differently. My setup is for shore power to take priority and when not connected to shore power, for my inverter to take over the power load... In order for that to work, I wired the two power sources the opposite of this video. Success.

      Yeah at the 10:20 minute mark I put a disclaimer because I ended up wiring it like you did after realizing that the instructions are for prioritizing inverter power.

    • @YZViper50
      @YZViper50 4 года назад +1

      So your inverter is wired into the bottom 2 lugs and your shore power is connected to the middle lugs? What you described is how i want mine to run. I just want to wire it up correctly inside the switch. Thanks

    Can yo just switch off the breaker used for charger manually every time you go on inverter power to make sure you don’t charge the battery when inverter is engaged?

    • @DirectCurrent4u
      @DirectCurrent4u 3 года назад

      @ Valentyn Kropov Yes, You can do it that way if You like. That is what I do because I have 1000w of solar on my RV so I don't need to charge my batteries more than two or three times a year with shore power. You just have to remember to turn it back off when You go back to Solar...

    I used this same transfer switch in my truck camper, and cannot get it to work right. I can't get shore power to bypass my inverter no matter what I do.

    • @G1M3G
      @G1M3G 4 года назад +2

      it takes about 30 seconds for the unit to make the switch. When it switches, you can hear it make a click noise that's loud enough to hear and be very noticeable.

    • @YZViper50
      @YZViper50 4 года назад

      And make sure that your inverter is on the bottom 2 lugs, the shore power cable is on the middle 2 lugs and your top lugs are wired into whatever you are wanting to constantly power

    I had a question, Sir? Shouldn't the Charger/Converter supply be on a 120v 15a breaker? I really did like your idea of running the Charger/Converter from the Shore power line and I'm stealing that idea.
