Yea. Your right. 90 percent of people I've seen cops shooting them is when they don't cooperate. Just cooperate, NO MATTER WHAT, and don't even ask questions, just do EXACTLY what the cops are saying, that way you won't get shot. Because if you don't cooperate the cop thinks you might reach for a gun or something. Comply first, complain later. If you don't like how the particular officer handled him or herself in a traffic stop, complain it to the local police department. Dont just assume you can't listen to a cop of you don't like them. Not all cops are bad.

Had an officer stop me for blowing a stop sign at 3am. My license had previously been suspended. The suspension was up but I hadn't gotten a new one, so I was driving without. He made sure to tell me he could take me to jail for driving without a license. I had my work uniform on and told him I had a box cutter (for work) when he asked about weapons. He was a real chill guy and let me go on all accounts. When we departed I had to ask "do I need to park my car and walk from here or...?". He replied, "I'm going south bound, you're going north, have a nice day".

This officer doesn’t belong on the road. He needs to be in the academy teaching officers on how to perform a traffic stop. Kudos to officer and hope his whole dept follows his example! I see all the comments and I think there is a misunderstanding of my comment. I think the officer handled it 150% correctly and yes the driver complied 150% as well. Both are examples of how public and LE should interact and how a lesson was taught and a good outcome was achieved for all. I have no doubt had this officer thought the driver was impaired he would have been arrested.

That was a perfect traffic stop! That officer was super polite, and forgiving with giving him a ticket. In most states if you're caught driving that fast it's reckless driving and you lose your car to the impound lot and you lose your license and you go to jail. In California if they catch you doing that with one other car on the road they consider it illegal road racing and reckless driving with the same out come except it doesn't end with going to jail, they actually send you to prison. But i can relate with this driver a lot because I've done that same exact thing in my truck, bucking it down the highway early in the morning before anyone else was on the road and i was doing 100+mph and a Michigan state trooper stopped me. I seen him hit his lights and i immediately hit the brakes and came to a sudden stop before he got up to me. I shut my truck off and threw my keys on the dash and made sure I didn't have my knife on me which i think I threw in the back floor somewhere. And i put my hands on the glass. He asked me what my business was and why i was going so fast. I told him real politely and he said ok and went back to his car to run my name and license. Then he came back and said to slow down i have plenty of time to get where i was going and said I got a warning and not a ticket. I said thank you so much, because when he flicked me i looked down and saw how fast i was going and was thinking i was about to be arrested and go to jail for reckless driving. But he instead gave me a warning and said warnings tend to work better for people to learn without getting hurt by the system and that he better not see me doing that again. I assured him i wouldn't or else id put the cuffs on myself. So long story short like this guy, we both did something stupid, nobody got hurt, we got to drive away and a lesson was learned. Good policing like this is a beautiful example of how well our men and women of law enforcement make a good difference every day. And to this day i have yet to drive like that.

@galaxxxi there’s always rotten apples in a basket. I’m just saying that by showing respect to someone who has the authority when you’re being pulled over, will get you out of situations that are often times described on tv as brutality or unlawful arrests. I have never seen an example of someone who is a law abiding citizen get shot, tazed, arrested or killed by the police. Also, you will most definitely be calling those “pigs” in an instance when your life is at threat.

According to his speedometer he was going 108, but grateful he was alive and didn't swerve into the big rig.
Be careful out there, in most car head on collisions the bodies and frames aren't quite designed for things above 60. You have fluff infront to protect you as much as possible, but a slight angle off and things like the wheel base can concave and crush your legs under the steering wheel which is just scary.

Been caught a couple times going over 100. Not once have I ever received anything more than a speeding ticket. Each time the officer(different officers) knocked me down to 15mph over the limit and let me go on my way. The only explanation I have is that each time I pull immediately over, put my windows down, put my hands on the wheel and don't move until the officer is able to see that I am no threat and he can be put at somewhat of an ease. I then comply with his requests, answer politely, and don't insult their intelligence by acting as if I have no idea why they are pulling me over. It's really not that hard. Show respect and you get respect. It's not about a cop being superior and treating them as such, it's about treating them as if you aren't their superior.
