Just ordered this for my trip to Jamaica. Can't wait to use it.
After 4 days of use and 200 pics, I got the message "Lens error" and black LCD display. I was lucky that I buy this camera 10 days ago and I returned it.
I have this camera which I like but I have problem when I try to edit my movies with Windows Movie Maker. The video quality changes completely from a clear HD video to a very bad quality distorted colour video. My OS is Windows 7 and I wonder if you have any advice on what movie editor to use that could maintain the quality of the video. Thanks!

dylok4200 You will love the camera my friend! The macro is really a great feature in coolpix L830!
I am having so much fun playing with this camera. It's so easy to use and the zoom lens is great. It does not come with a memory card, so be sure to buy one.

I am a novice when it comes to photography, but I'm deeply interested in taking videos and pictures, mainly of nature and animals. I'm currently using an iPod touch 5, and it's pretty decent for pictures, if you're actually close to the object. Video quality is alright.
Since I'm so new to the world of cameras, I'd appreciate any tips and recommendations in which camera to buy. I really don't wish to spend more than $200, simply because this would be my first time investing in a decent digital camera. Would this be a good choice? I would like it to be able to zoom in and focus clearly. For example, if i wish to take a picture of a bird atop a telephone pole from a second story window, it comes out sharp.
Slow-motion would be a great addition for videos, if it is on there, but not necessary.

AlexanderTheGreatol Εννοείται πως είναι καλύτερα να ξεκινήσεις με μία οικονομική-μεταχειρισμένη dslr παρά με την συγκεκριμένη μηχανή εαν ο στόχος σου είναι η επαγγελματική φωτογραφία στο μέλλον. H Nikon Coolpix L830 είναι μία πολύ καλή μηχανή αλλά πρακτικά μία αυτόματη μηχανή. Για να μπορέσεις να πετύχεις τα δικά σου ανώτερα αποτελέσματα, τότε θα χρειαστείς μία dslr η οποία θα σου επιτρέπει να επεμβαίνεις χειροκίνητα στις ρυθμίσεις της μηχανής.

TheDark Knut It is not so bulky after the batteries. It's a fairly light camera. :)
It can take about 500 photos.

The zoom is amazing. The display is great amzn.to/1uFLeie this is an all around great addition to the amateur photographer or as a basic family camera. Highly recommend!
I like your yellow knife :D anyways I was thinking about buying this refurbished from the manufacturer on Amazon because it's way cheaper. Do you think this is a good idea or should I stick to the new one?

I believe this camera is super for auto shooting and you dont need to buy the new one.

MiniMia03 This is indeed one drawback in this camera. But sometimes is good to be able to buy fresh batteries from a super market or something instead of looking a plug to charge your battery.
It's a very nice camera for starters and I recommend it! :)
Did you get the memory card with it or did you buy it separately?

Hi I have a question... Does this camera auto focus? Example, if I wanted to film a makeup tutorial video and focus on my eyes, would it auto focus and zoom into it? I'll wait for your answer asap. Thank you.
Nazareth Zeuqsàlev This camera does autofocus and zooming but I am not totally sure you will be able to do a good job focusing your eyes or doing any good macro video. The camera has some focus issues when you zooming (in extreme zooming situations). Perhaps I will make a video sample and upload it for you! :)

teachmedotgr +teachmedotgr Hi again, sorry for bothering you again, I just have a concern, I decided to buy the camera and I already got it, bought it from Amazon but it was from a different seller not from Nikon, I bought it from that seller because they had a special package it come with it, but I didn't see the guarantee you showed in this video, I contact them via Amazon and they told me this: " This camera does not come with a warranty since it is an imported model, import is the same exact item created by the same manufacturer as the non-import version except for the warranty, We have our own warranty for a full year just like the manufacturer"...Well, the thing is that the camara looks exactly like your but I'm afraid it might be a fake one. I paid $280 in total because of the black friday sale. Let me know what you think about this whole situation, thank you so much for replying before and I hope you take a couple of minutes of your time to answering again. :-)

Thank you +Adrian Green , I bought it from Amazon because it came with a bunch of stuff, a tripod, 4 rechargeable batteries, a mini tripod and some other stuff, probably that's why I paid that much, thank you tho. :-)

raghavendra raghu It is good for basic photography and fast shooting. I own Nikon D800 but I take Coolpix L830 in my vacations.

Amber Griffith You can find batteries and chargers in ebay really cheap. I believe you can get a set of 4 AA Batteries and a Charger for bellow $30!
How is the video quality/ audio ?
r The quality is really good if you have enough light in your scene. If you have low light you get noise.

No you cannot attach more lens. But also you don't need to. It covers a huge field from macro till telephoto photography.

Πολύ ωραίο unboxing και review.Την εχω βαλει στο μάτι κανα μήνα τώρα και μου φαίνεται άψογη... :) απλα εχω αμφιβολιες για τις μπαταρίες..
Οι μπαταρίες είναι ένα θέμα φίλε Νίκο, αλλά μπορείς να πάρεις επαναφορτιζόμενες και να μην έχεις καμία άλλη αμφιβολία! :)
πάρε επαναφορτιζόμενες, βασικά εμένα βολεύουν επειδή δεν χρειάζεται φόρτιση αν έχεις ανταλακτικές είσαι κομπλέ
