i read a lot of comments about it not working well in low lights. does it really don't take nice pictures/videos in low lights and moving objects especially in concerts?

Manual says it's ok to use NiMh recargeable batteries. Haven't tried yet, but expect no problems.

+Michael Green Hi guys i used to have the l830 and i wanted to go a step up so i got the l840 and now i have both, so from experience the l840 is much better, the zoom is 38x it has built in wif, the focus is better too

Michael Green: For just ONLY pictures (and leave no room to grow into a master photographer) go for the lesser expensive L340. But (always a but) if you think you will grow and start being adventurish and if you can afford (or get it cheaper) go for the smart camera L840 with wifi and a few tricks built in. Good Luck.

I can't upload movies from my L840 to my PC or my iPad. The photos appear but the movies have a big X on them. Any ideas?
The camera came with a box right? Well there is a cable included in there and you plug it in to your camera and the other end to your pc and it will import the photos or videos :)

Is there any way to bokeh with the Coolpix L840? The camera always readjusts its focus when I try to take blurred or bokeh pictures.
That is because at that point the subject must be closure than the minimum distance the camera can focus on...its hard to get bokeh with such a small sensor anyway, but you can try with subjects like bulbs, leaves in the background that easily give bokeh

Do you find that this camera doesnt stabalize photos? Meaning if somebody in the picture happens to move their arm slightly in the picture it is all fuzzy. Do you know how I an fix that? I already have my stabalizer on.
Shoot in Shutter speed mode and keep atleast 150 shutter speed

It comes with the USB cord. Ir you can get a card reader and take the card out and do it that way

If your camera doesnot have WiFi or nfc, you should use a camera connection kit for ipad. It's a cable to one end of which you can insert an SD card

As compared to canon sx410is nikon l840 is very good..........one thing i am confused is about its battery, is it lithium-lion or pencil sale battery......online they are giving lithium and in this video u r showing something else...please confirm

it will depend on on how much storage you have in it 16gb is going to get you around 30 minutes of recording
also depends if you are recording 1080p or 720p

i like the camera but i like the canon SX 400 IS better
I was debating whether to get this one or the canon- I think my mind is set on this one, overall it seems like a better camera... The design, the 1080p recording, the monitor which you can move and adjust, the built in wifi. The only thing I dislike is that it takes AA batteries rather than a Li-Ion battery.
