I think that your brain just doesn’t go to a dark place right away and explains what you’re seeing with something simple.
Yes that is exactly it! It isn’t that store mannequins were just laying around in the ‘50’s - but most people have not seen a dead body laying around somewhere (other than in a casket or funeral home) and because the body is pale and not moving the only thing your brain can liken it to is a mannequin - still, pale and unmoving. I once saw a person flying through the air at an intersection after being hit by a car (i didn’t see the car strike the person - just the body flying through the air) and thought - oh someone most have thrown a mannequin off the back of a truck or something (not that that made any sense) but I had never seen a living body flying through the air before- and it wasn’t flying through the air like it had any real weight to it - but of course it had been struck by a deadly force and was catapulting through the air and the person was likely (hopefully) unconscious- not holding himself upright and rigid like a person in control would. I didn’t think of WHAT it might be- my mind just jumped to the conclusion that that couldn’t be a real person - so therefore it must be a mannequin - cause what else could it be??? It is a surreal feeling when you actually realize what you have just witnessed - like you can’t believe that really just happened. I will never forget seeing that. Ohhhhhh.... I can not wait to hear what you have to say about Johnny Gosch!! I've researched that case a ton and am excited to hear your thoughts!! I think about his poor mother almost daily.
I'll never understand when the urge to be a part of a story that captivates you overrides the decency not to give false info in a murder case. Why do ppl lie about seeing missing people?! My friend Amanda De Guio has been missing for 5 years. Whenever ppl post about her on social media, there's always some idiot claiming to have seen her here and there. It's bullshit and it's rotten.
Tip: If you’re ever faced with reporting a missing person, *ALWAYS* tell law enforcement that the MP is special needs of some kind. Or that they are on a medication which they have to take, in order to stay alive. - I know it might seem wrong to use those suggestions, but we are talking about your friends, your family, whoever. They need to be found and even if police think it’s a “runaway,” That MP would be considered “endangered.” Which puts a timer on finding your loved one.
I’ll never understand how LE can be so quick to say “they ran away” and do nothing. Even if they HAD, they are still minors who need care and would not be safe out in the world alone? So frustrating. Missing persons should always be taken seriously IMO. If the person is found safe and wants to stay gone, great. But at least there are answers and we aren’t leaving people who didn’t go willingly without investigation. About the movies... there used to be a theater near me that played movies for 1.00 (not new releases, but after they’d been out a while) and I saw Titanic, 10 Things I Hate About You and She’s All That an embarrassing amount of times 😅

Just scrolling through the comments while I watch and came across yours! I hope you’re better now! 🖤
Thank you dears, I just got out and can walk again! The bill is catastrophically high even with Obamacare, but at least I'm alive! Hope you're both doing well. You made my day.
Ohhhhhh.... I can not wait to hear what you have to say about Johnny Gosch!! I've researched that case a ton and am excited to hear your thoughts!! I think about his poor mother almost daily.
Mary Beth Wylie so sad, so frustrating 🤬
It's so deep. All I gotta say is: A Conspiracy of Silence.
@@lex61519 Yes!
Johnny Gosch is one of those cases I wish more people knew about. So excited to see Stephanie's take on it.
@@ladyblakeney It really is a fascinating, twist-taking case.
I'm so sorry about your friend, Amanda.☮️💜
@@maryjocassell48 Aww thank you… she’s still missing. This month will be 7 years! Her two daughters are getting so big.
@@Voyeurrrr 😋😎I can't even imagine what you guys have been through. Praying for you and her girls.

What a nice day!
@@StephanieHarlowe I was sketching my she-shed plans out. I want to build one this spring. Haha.
Oh no! That ding! 1:30 am Australian time 😱😱 no sleep (again)
You’re really spoiling us this week Stephanie - 2 in 2 days 😘😘
You're gorgeous 😯
yolanda gerges trying to keep you all happy! I’m going to have to start posting at like 3am my time so it’s a normal time for you aussies!
Stephanie Harlowe welcome to our club (the no sleep club) 😂
She's All That feels so nostalgic to me.
@@coffee8599 that s not old movies 😂 but you are young , I am not😅.
"Saturday night fever' or the first
" Starwars" or " Hair" and older ones. Try watch them !! 🌍🙋♀️from Norway
That new intro! 🔥 all crime channels should be shook.
Sara Delic 😂😂😂 awww thanks
I went to see Titanic 11 times in the theater and dragged my little brother with me 10 of those times. He was there for the popcorn and candy, I was there for Leo and Celine Dion.
I always assumed I was the only crazy person who did that! I also watched Moulin Rouge like 5 times in the theater! 😄
I absolutely adore you and your videos! The depth you go into is actually amazing and you’re always super respectful!
Adriana Diamandis thank you! 😍❤️
Stephanie I'm literally going thru a life change and it makes me want to lag on the things I have to do but when I see your videos it hypes me up again to throw you on the speaker and get started . Thankyou.
I love this new intro!!! I’ve never commented before but I just started subscribing since October after having back surgery and needing something to occupy my time with, your videos helped me a lot through the recovery process. I love how much work you put into your videos, I rewatch your series all the time and each time I learn more and more even though I’ve watched it before. Love you!
Adriana Gonzalez thank you and I wish you a speedy recovery!!
ive lived in Chicago my whole life and it would be so cool if u did a chicago crime series
Olivia M Yesssssss I’m from Chicago too
yeess
Okay I love the opening the middle and soon end! The attention to detail is always amazing and your way of being so kind to victims!!! I love you tons!
Meli Doe love you back!
@@StephanieHarlowe see thanks I needed that my bff / sisters death day is in 3 days and i cant sleep for some reason but I do adore you
A cold night in Chicago, so cold that nobody is out. Except Jussie, of course.
I super love this intro! Excited to watch the entire video, as always I appreciate all of the work you put into your content!
Caley Kiser thank you so much! ❤️
LOOOOVING the intro babes! I'm getting total TV crime documentary vibes
Grace Hanson thank you!!!❤️❤️❤️
Good morning Queen @Stephanie Harlowe! So excited for this video! Hope everyone has a fabulous week!
So tired...but need to do the dishes...oh! Stephanie has posted a new video! I will be soothed by her voice and get those dishes done! Thanks so much for helping get my chores done.
Great way to start the morning! Loved you as a guest host on crime after crime btw!
Alyse A. It was so much fun!
NEVER have I seen such in depth coverage on this case! That's what I love about your channel. I can find so many of the same case all relatively saying the same things but when Stephanie Harlowe covers it, I ALWAYS learn so much more.
5 dislikes already? Kids return the electronics to the adults
alex romero hah! 😂
💯😉👏
It is probably people associated with other channels. I can’t imagine anyone not loving these videos!
alex romero Sometimes I think/wonder if it's people that don't exactly understand the "dislike" button and think it's more for disliking the fact that this case happened, instead of actually disliking the video itself.. who knows though! Could just be haters trolling, but I always think it's funny because some of them must have their notifications on to dislike the video so damn quick!
Probably because nobody cares for 5 mins intros and someone who talks so much about the sponsor you actually forget what you were watching.
Only about 10 minutes in, but I've got to say I love all the little editing tricks you're adding. Can tell it's all still a little rough but there's something really nice about seeing you're having fun experimenting with all the new things you're learning 😄
Omg can’t wait for the Johnny gosch episode.and Elvis hair style was called a pompadour
Barbara Scott yes!!!! Thank you!!
Yassssssss
Barbara Scott the lady is right, the name always makes me think of the french renaissance and those mahoosive powder wigs. I would never have remembered that if not for you,ya know when it’s there right at the front of your brain but won’t get into the‘spit it out’ stage haha
I can't wait for the Johnny Gosch episode, too!
can’t wait either! i’m sure i think i know everything about it but i’m ready for steph to prove me wrong once again :)
Love your intro! Content too, as always. I may have heard a case 10 times but will still watch your version. I know a lot of TC RUclipsrs try not to give their opinion so much, but I find it refreshing (and often hilarious) when you comment what everyone else is surely thinking. Hugs to you, Stephanie, for being great.
Here for it Steph!! ❤❤ The effort & dedication you have into your videos is inspiring, as for you being the voice for those who can no longer speak, makes me love you even more x
Shauna Follett thank you so much! That means a lot!! ❤️❤️
Stephanie is the best thing to happen to RUclips, ever!!! I am so flippin addicted to this channel!
Some humans don’t deserve to be called human at all
Who pranks a family with missing family members, giving false info and the letters the calls not cool not ok and killers 😡😡 I seen animals with more human sense then us
It’s so common and so gross
Someone who literally wasn't sane. I want to know why outbound letters weren't read first.
I mean...he wasn't in a mental hospital because he was normal
right how sick are people
WOAH! I love how much detail you pull up about the victims and all the suspects and the investigation process. I can't imagine how many hours of work you pour into these cases, even ones spanning back this long before the age of everything getting put on the interwebs. You are amazing and it's great that you tell these stories so these victims are never forgotten!
GOD i swear you ALWAYS post at the perfect time !!!! yesss i’m so excited!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It's a cold day outside, a bit under the weather and I have a NEW upload from Stephanie! Today is suddenly perfect.
wow! the new intro is amazing! good job, Stephanie!
I really enjoy listening to the older and more historical cases. I hope you do more in the future. Your research appears to be so extensive and the little details you find that others would never think to even mention make the stories that much more intriguing to listen to. Like Marylin and Elizbeth being possible acquaintances before her name change. I adore Monroe and have always been drawn to the Black Dahlia case so that was incredibly interesting to me to hear about. One of the many reasons I love your videos.
that new intro is absolute fire!!!
Love the detail u go into. I've tried other channels but the lack of background or detail is frustrating. U are definitely number 1!!
Omg...the poor Mother. I cannot imagine her pain not knowing what happened to her babies 😔😢
Bless this mother to loose two daughters at one time!!
What about texting the DNA if there is any left!!
Love the new intro! This was a fantastically researched video. My grandma and grandpa lived in Chicago during the time of these murders and never let my dad go to the movies because of it
Amanda Moss that was probably a good decision!
i'm here! finally i catch your new uploads
this intro is BOMB
Alle Rhie thank you!!! 😍😍😍
I really love how much you go through each case so thoroughly, and these older cases too. You make them so interesting and give the best imagery. Keep doing what you're doing girl! We love it!
Perfect upload timing 😍 here I am bored out of my mind and Stephanie pulls through yet again with another amazing case to listen to whilst I run errands 💜
rebekah sneap youtube has been dry lately, I can’t find anything to watch but politics!!
You replied!!😍😍 ( insert new lowkey freaking out over this reaction 😭) !!! I know!!! Imagine the boring UK politics I have to put up with right now 😭
Regarding the intro: Love the idea, love the imagery, it's just too darn long. Over a minute. I love you Stephanie but..... New viewers aren't gonna tolerate that long. It needs to be half of what it is .... Tops.
Still love you, still love your channel .... You'll get it figured out! 💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜.
Yeahh. 15-30 seconds is probably good.
I skipped it because it's soo long!😅 Still a cool intro 👍💯
I think the sponsor ads she does are waaaay too long but she probably has to talk about it for so many minutes in order to get paid. 🤷🏻♀️
Agreed! WAY too long!
As I said, it’s a work in progress, I’m still trying to figure out what I’m doing
Your great efforts don't go unnoticed Stephanie!
MY MORNING IS MADE!!!!!
Amazing editing by the way. That intro was sick ♥️♥️
Your new intro is remarkable!
Like all of your work it's so well done!
*Edit*
I can't wait for you to cover the
Johnny Gosch case!
My boss is 83 years old and his wife is 75 and when his wife was younger she went and saw Elvis perform live and I as a huge Elvis fan asked her how amazing it was to see Elvis perform live and she responded with “It was okay I thought he was overrated” 😳🤯
Woah
My mom has always told me her grandmother (I think, I have a bad memory lol) was at an event that Elvis was at and he tried to dance with her but she blew him off. 😂😂
Something wrong with her, I think!
You’ve uploaded literally an hour before I leave for work.. don’t know whether to watch now or leave as a treat when I get home🤔 I gotta leave a like straight away anyways Steph thank uuuuu 🤍
Lowri Williams I’ll be here when you’re ready! ❤️
Lowri Williams call in late!! 😂😂😂
YAS Stephanie that intro is great!
Edit- loving the matching green eyeshadow and cardigan! It looks amazing with your hair colour!
What if hunt a killer was real and at the end you find out you saved an actual murder...
Alaura Ashley imagine?? That’s a cool idea!
Alaura Ashley I think they might be based on actual cases, like law and order, but I’m not 100 percent sure 😂
Dream come true!
Ooh
Hunt a killer actually partnered with Cold Case Foundation so that every box purchased or donation made goes toward real cold cases (like backed up forensic evidence, officer training, etc) and current cases as well
I'm so looking forward to your take on Johnny Gosch- his is a case that always stuck with me, and I know you'll do it justice 💕
Love that new into!!
This new intro is everything, seriously you did a great job.
Thank you!!!
Great intro! Thank you for bringing light to these cases
Love the intro! I’m glad the coffee & crime intro is staying as well! A job well done as always Queen!💖

Morgan S thank you!!!
Stephanie Harlowe plus I got ads!! Yay for no demonetization.. yet 🤞🏼🙂
You @StephanieHarlowe are incredibly talented at what you do. Nobody (out of so many others I watch on RUclips) go so far in depth on their videos. Thank you.
I would love to see you cover the Gannon stauch case in Lorson ranch Colorado Springs that’s ongoing! I love all the details you put into your videos Stephanie! Really helps us get a good whole picture.
And, of course, our queen delivers 👸🏻🖤 I hadn’t known of Gannon’s case until Steph posted about it the other day. Her in-depth research is so helpful and important in spreading awareness. Xx
I LOVE the new intro! Your 2020 growth is already 💪....but PLEASE never lose the coffee and crime time song. It’s my favorite thing ever! Lmao
Loving the intro!!! Amazing job as always :)

Would like for you go make Video on the similarities of the murders !! 😳😳
Steph! I needed you today. Thanks for this amazing video I haven’t even watched yet. (I know it’s amazing because that’s what you DO.)
Love the new intro Steph!
I save your posts for when I have time off. You are a breath of fresh air with all the drama crime channels. I hope you, your family, and all your listeners are safe. I'm a nurse and you made my weekend off. Bless you all
You are my favourite content creator 💝💝 You keep me company on mat leave and I appreciate you so much
Samantha Gauthier yes! ita
Maternity leave was hard, I remember it very well. It can be incredibly isolating. We’re here for you, mama!
I always love ur lil descriptions of their lives in the beginning of your videos, such a good storyteller
That intro though 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
So happy to find you again in my RUclips feed. Love watching you at work and just makes it go so quickly.
Okay but the intro 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I was just making my morning coffee and I saw you posted a new video. I heard about this case years ago in college from one of my professors who was originally from Chicago.
I really do look forward to your videos. I go with my best friend when he has dialysis and we watch your videos to help pass the time and distract him for a bit from what he's going through.
Queen 💃🏼 this sad case has fascinated me for YEARS. My grandma remembers it.
Heather Nikki did she talk to you about it a lot?
@@StephanieHarlowe Yes she grew up in Cook County and was older than them so she didn't know them, but she talked about all the wild leads and the Elvis angle especially

I recall reading about this case back in 2010 through a book titled "Murder Gone Cold" by Tamara Shaffer. There are a few more books available now about it in 2020 (many are currently free for Amazon Kindle Unlimited readers). Your presentation is outstanding, you managed to condense a great deal of information into a fascinating overview of this tragic cold case. Keep up the good work!
