The longer you ferment your rice water, the more concentrated, and beneficial nutrients you get out of it. My suggestion is adding a preservative as I do mine. Even if you have an airtight jar/bottle, rice water will go rancid within a week or two if you don't add a preservative. There are lots of eco-cert preservatives available on the market. The longer the rice water sits the more concentrated it becomes, which allows for better extraction of its beneficial and healing properties. So if your rice water has been fermenting for 3wks or more, remove some from your jar, add it to a spray bottle, and add some fresh distilled water to it. That way you don't get protein overload; but still get a more potent amount of other nutrients... Way more than if you just have 5 day old rice water!
I fully support the use of rosemary, and grapefruit! And I'll explain why. It turns out, Pomelo is the principal ancestor of the grapefruit. So grapefruit is a very close match. And rosemary? Through testing, it was discovered that at least rosemary essential oil had the same power as Rogaine for growing hair! Only its natural. But do not put rosemary essential oil directly on your skin, scalp, or hair at full strength. It is too strong and may irritate you. Essential oil has to be diluted. Most websites recommend a 1% dilution with either water, or a carrier oil such as olive oil. In this case, the carrier would be water. So that's 6 drops of rosemary essential oil, for every ounce of water. But also, the method in this video (boiling fresh rosemary) will extract the natural essential oils from the rosemary, so you get the same result.
Seriously am amazed of the action of this rice water on my hair , my hair grew additional 1 and half inches under 1 month. But I do moisturize it with my homemade carrot oil and original sheabutter after the rice water.
arsenic is in the soil that the rice is grown in depending on where it is grown. you can't wash it off. you can only cook it to the point that the arsenic gets denatured along with all the beneficial nutrients that would help you. the best thing to do is buy rice from a country or area with little to no arsenic in its soil like some parts of africa and china.
Yes I put lavender in mine. Food grade Lavender pops, sometimes rose petals, rosemary sprigs, carrots, and I also had used sweet potato water in mine. Sometimes with the rice and sometimes all the ingredients except the rice. I also make the oil, rosemary, lavender pops, carrot, orange peels. I use a double boiler, evoo and shred the carrots and just add the others. Put in the evoo and let hest the boiler for a good 30-40 ?min. Then strain the carrot and other items, add to a sealing jar. Keep in dark pantry area. Talk about smelling so goooood!😊
I use rosemary from my bush and make rosemary water by boiling it for 20 minutes. Let it cool and put in spray bottle. Spray my hair every morning and evening. Ive noticed my hair starting to get thicker, but now i will use rice water and put the rosemary in it. I have oranges so will use that for now. Thanks.
Just wanted to let you know I’ve been watching your channel for awhile now and I’ve actually made a few of your recipes. You explain how to do things very well and I really enjoy your channel. I just made some rice water and I used your recipe word for word. Thanks for doing what you do. Blessings to you and yours.
I love your tutorial using the rice water, rosemary twigs, and the grapefruit,at the moment I'm fermenting my rice water using the rosemary, and grapefruit,I'm excited to try the rice water and rosemary twigs, thanks for this tutorial.
Love the video …I never wash out my rice water . And it hasn’t damaged my hair at all. It’s been 2years and great results .. add aloe Vera water in place of distilled water
A Great way to moisturize IN this mixture because it can be drying is adding some flaxseed oil, flaxseed Also helps with hair growth and hair health as well, so its a Definite "2 fer"
I have a question. I made the water, and placed the grapefruit peel, and a few rosemary leaves. It was sitting and around day 5 i noticed the rosemary leaves looked a bit furry.. and the peel too. Has this happened to someone else? Do we still use? Halp please..
I really like your video , however, No disrespect to you, but water and oil don't mix. The oil will float to the top of the jar or glass. Personally I would put the rice water on the hair and let it set, then rinse it out and then apply the oils you have. Also, your hair is beautiful. God bless you for sharing.
I put my oils to ferment with the rice for at least a month. Yao women did it this way. Then I shake it all and put in a spray bottle or sometimes I put water in a pot and put my whole hair in there.
I got natural hair all my life shoulder length...never had dandruff never had problem with it when I were younger...now im experiencing dryness no matter what I do...
They don't use rosemary. They use the fruit that's impossible to get in North America. So grapefruit rinds are comparable. Then put in a dark place for a week to ferment. It showed them doing the rice milking after the rice washing. Then it wasn't touched after being put in the jar.
I love how everyone has remixed the rice water recipe and gotten good results. I tried other ways but didn’t work. I am currently fermenting mine with hair oils added for 5 days now will use it on the 7th day l made my rice water the original way that the Yao women make theirs. I will try it for a month see how it goes. 🥰
I soak chamomile tea bag with rice & lemon peel for a few days or week or 2. I also add few drops of tea tree essential oil to it when I put it in hair spritzer. My hair is blonde, straight, fine. It definitely is great at de tangling my hair, looks silky, shiny, soft, do not need to wash as often, but I don’t see new hair growth? I use it a lot in the summer months
Always always always grow rosemary in your yard or patio or anywhere. Even if you never use it, just brushing your hand through it is such a wonderful aromatic experience.
Really like the video but I know people personally who used rice water on their hair, it will not work well with all hair types. It all depends on the porosity of your hair. If you have low porosity hair, then rice water can damage it. It will make it dry and it will frizz easily.
I think it depends on many factors, not just porosity. i have low porosity hair and it works great for me. even if you have high porosity it may not work for you because in general, not everything works for everyone 💖
Nice but try to use lukewarm water not hot it's the same but more nutrients, I add grounded cloves too and a dash of spirit to keep sterile and use directly , I don't think fermenting dose anything it'll consume the sugar and make it acidic wich has conditioning effect that's all
Darling thnxs so much for wonderful video, but please help l don't know whether l do with my hair is right l wash with only plain rice water after l put coconut oil will it make my hair grow, much love ❤❤❤❤from uganda
Do I have to add the oil to it? Im making this recipe now but I do not have rosemary so i use thyme and I use the orange for fermentation but do I have to add the oil
The Yao women don’t boil the rice, do they. They scrub the rice for a long time to get the starches into the water. They use the water- not the rice-and heat the water with the peel and essential oil. Then ferment it for weeks.

Orange peels can act as natural preservative
