the kit reduces twang and spring noise and just makes the rifle smoother and nicer to shoot and due to the better spring a lot more consistent in power output.. yeah you can use the pre load/power washers to increase/adjust power by adding more or removing some .. hope this helps mate, 👍
Iv been looking at these kits from a few different places. If you stick with the original spring do you still have to get it out the piston? Cuz I imagine it's a bastard to compress and get back in!
if you were keeping the original spring or other parts in you would still have to compress the spring to remove the pin and open the back end up but once open i guess you could leave the spring and top hat piece in the piston if you were just replacing the spring guide... the spring can be can be under extreme pressure in some rifles but very luckily the smk XS19 has little preload and can be done with your thumb or against a flat surface... on others i use a sash clamp and a modded piece of steel pipe with a slit cut in each side which fits in the end of the action and over the cross pin then i just compress it slowly in a long sash clamp... its a lot of bother but has to be done i suppose and once you have the bits to do it you can open any rifle safely so definitely worth it.. thanks for the comment i hope this helps you 👍
