- Had a little "off"" with the bike last Sunday on an unsuccessful accent of a rock face out of a creek. Anyway the resulting impact caused the flange on the radiator T piece to get damaged......changing it out for the simco hoses and T conversion. In the video I say ill push the new simco one up from the bottom however the only way is to install it through the side hole. Not too difficult
I bet you invented new curse words getting that out!
Glad I came across your video(s).
I have a 2022 300 XC TPI.
I have notice that the top 2 hoses in front of & top area of the thermostat assembly do not allow the left rad's lower hose to stay away from the engine as you pointed out. I loosend the clamps I could and rotated some hoses to get the front crossover hose to not rub against the head gasket area.
I do not want to permanently remove the thermostat assembly.
So am thinking of installing a temperature readout so I can read the normal temps and then remove the theromstat and compare how much longer it takes to get fully warmed up. If it does during fall and spring time outdoor temps..
Do not want to cold seize it.
I replaced the left lower hose with a silicone hose with 4 strands of internal reinforcing from Tokyo Offroad on RUclips. It has the proper sized ends as the stock hose has a different size at each end.
Thanx.
They changed the OEM aluminum piece to plastic in 23. Going to have tons of problems. Mine started leaking at 2 hrs.
the samco one looks exactly like the Nice CNC one
Samco hoses are 100% hand made in the united kingdom and are far superior to other hoses (Nice CNC) look at the videos on RUclips of them being hand made in the factory. Most high performance engine builds use samco hoses jeff slavens also has videos on them explaining how good they are!
It’s not even 2022 yet… want one of these, or do I?
KTM has a left rad lower hose protector listed for the XC-W which of course fits the XC.
But it is back ordered due to Covid-19 like most things.
yes I can get them easily (10days) but by the time you put that on you may as well just replace with silicone hose
@@ReeceTasker I am considering replacimg all the hoses with Samco silicone ones this winter.
From what I can tell the # 1 silicone hose maker Samco does make all its hoses in England where they are located.
did you see a drop in running temp and overheating?
Thanks for following up on the forks. Did you say that you are removing the thermostat assembly?
Yes but I don't recommend it for most people. Thermostat is there for good reason!
@@ReeceTasker Yes I agree. I get winters. LOL
Ktm has many models of bikes that don’t even have a thermostat fitted from the factory. Its only really needed if riding in very cold conditions, where some people cover the radiators to maintain temperature
We're did u get dat orange t hose from
samco. Rocky Mountain has them
Touch of heat should have loosened all that threadlock.... next time.
And how do you suggest getting the heat inside the frame?
@@ReeceTasker dunno, that's why I was hoping you would try!
@@7thirtyseven you could maybe direct heat down the tube but the oil tank line is above it so probably not too good
