What made it obvious to me that Lance wasn’t the guy was the way his teammates talked about him.
When asked by reporters about Lance, his teammates said he was solid and had great potential but didnt get excited when talking about him the way they would get excited talking about Brock Purdy.
He spent 2 years behind Garropolo and still couldn’t read defenses and he’s prone to panic once the o-line collapses.
He spent one year behind Jimmy and you act like Jimmy is a great Qb unlike Jordan Love who actually sat 3 years behind Rodgers who is a HOF QB but you want to act like jimmy is gonna go down as a great. Also I seen Trey step up in the pocket very well in fact if you go look at the bears game on 3rd and 9 with 11:54 to go in the 4th he deliever a dart up the middle to Ross Dwelley

Purdy played against actually competition in college and had to actually read defenses
Trey Lance even struggled in pre season against guys who were about to get cut
So glad we found purdy
That glorified junior college has more current NFL players than a lot of power 5 programs

Not sure what Preseason games you are talking about because he accounted for 48% of the points in the Preseason while only playing in 2 out of the 3 games for the niners. He had a better passer rating than Sam Darnold in the Preseason and he also was better in third downs than Darnold was
Regardless of the Trey Lance situation I’m glad we didn’t draft Mac Jones or Justin Fields.
Trey Lance was injury prone, delicate and couldn’t read an NFL defense if his career depended on it. When all said and done he was a bigger bust than JaMarcus Russell.
“Injury prone” he got hurt one time just like Purdy got hurt one time in the Nfc championship game. let’s say purdy got hurt in week 1 like Lance did he would be out the whole year like Trey was. Also bigger bust than Russel? You can say that he is the biggest bust for the niners but not overall the biggest bust because he did not have nowhere near that hype
Trey Lance is underrated. Everybody says he is 3rd string at best. I would put him in as a 2nd string on a non-contending team to see if he is any good by now.
Brock purdy, this kid is playing way ahead of his time, i sometimes forget this is his 1st full year in the NFL
Sometimes the scouts get it wrong. He is a multimillionaire and will be fine.

Correction Trey lance career never even started he was a bust from the beginning and everyone saw that and the ones that loved him were basing off emotions. Faithful since 1980 💪🏽

@@patek9789 actually I was team jimmy and when Trey went down was the best news for the team and when jimmy went down well the rest is history. At the end of the day whoever gets us to the big game is who i root for. I listen to the players locker room interviews and all they had to say was good things about the rookie quarterback who they practiced against that he was awesome.

Jimmy got carried to the superbowl and choked it and was the reason the niners lost but your proud of that since he made it to the “Big game”
@patek I get you like Lance but you need to learn to check your emotions as the door. Trey may still be great in the future, but the Niners are in win now mode, Eliot’s. Trey can’t read defenses, yet. That’s a problem for super bowl ready team
@@aunch3 Niners have been in “Win now Mode” for over 3 years and haven’t came close to winning it all once. They pretty much had a wasted season in 2021 with Jimmy who barely made the playoffs and choked vs the Cowboys, Packers, Rams in the playoffs. If he would have played atleast average vs the them the games wouldn’t have been close and Niners win the Super bowl. Also do you got any proof he “can’t read defenses” or do you just want to say something negative about Trey?
Pls fire those scouts. Lance a high pick? And Purdy as last? Lucked out with Brock but damn, those scouts cant evaluate QBs
Great video. As a 49ers fan it is nice to see him be relaxed. But some notes with the video watched it through
1. Background music bring it down a little bit
2. Double check your facts he was the 3rd pick not 4th
3. Give a bit more if opinions and add a more to your voice

I feel bad for this kid. I think they should’ve treated him like a Jordan Love. Jordan Love seems to me to be the model for how to handle a young guy coming right out of college. Let him learn and then when you put him in there he can succeed and that will give him confidence.

😂😢 Easy for scouts n coaches n fans to fall in love with size n arm strength n mobility. Trey has those attributes. But its the intangibles that you can't measure easily that may matter most. One red flag, 1 yr experience n level of competition. Since 2000, only 3 QBs drafted with 1 yr experience. Only, Newton had success. Another red flag. While Niners had good draft in lower rds. First rd is really a hit n miss gamble. Even. Fields n Jones haven't looked like a Franchise QB yet. The Bears have spent six 1st rds picks on QBs. Not easy to find the next Allen or Mahomes. Its not Trey fault, if Niners over spent with draft picks for him.Trey story isn't finish. He's still young. But because he so raw, its hard to see teams giving him the playing time if they need to win now. Maybe, Trey should probably go to CFL or XFL. Get experience. Moon went to CFL first, before coming to the NFL.
Trey Lance was lousy. He couldn't read defenses and got rattled easily. Not cool at all. Not even close to the injury ridden Jimmy G and light years away from Purdy. Trey Lance will never be a good QB in the NFL because he cannot read defenses period.

Trey needs time to develop. He didn't play against future NFL players in college. 49ers had no time to wait, they needed a miracle and somehow found one. What Purdy is doing very rarely happens.

The kids played 9 games, if the 9ers never got Brock Purdy, we’d see a lot more from him.
The only reason this isn’t really a terrible trade in my opinion is because the 49ers could afford to give up those picks. Plus they are the best team in the NFL rn. They took a chance on a guy who had good upside, and yeah they sold, but they have made up for it.
Yeah I don't see it that way at all. Lance never even got a chance to shine. His only healthy start as QB1 was in a monsoon and he got his leg snapped in half at the start of his second game.

LOL...what do you mean the "Rise" of Trey Lance? I NEVER liked the pick. You look at his college highlights, and yes he has a deep ball here and there, but the rest of the highlights are him trucking linebackers.
Trey was never good, never played anyone good. Dumbed down college offense. Avg. 13 passes a game (completion stat means nothing). Kaep was long way better that’s not saying much. Never listen to Mel’s picks.
I’m sure you felt the same way about Tyreek Hill in college. He played in that same division
I think it's pretty unfair that Lance gets painted as a bust because Brock Purdy is really good. Dallas made him the primary backup to Dak Prescott who isn't exactly known for durability. Also I agree with others that the BG music level can be lowered and you can give a bit more of your own analysis, but it was still a great video!

Just goes to show college and highschool experience matters, you need to start and be playing a ton, just cause ppl say you look like the next mahomes, and stuff doesnt mean jack, these scouts suck at there job, brady was a 6th round pick and look at how he did, purdy, last pick, i know there are others, but we need to stop trying to find the allens and the mahomes, and the burrows in college, and look at there experience and there skills, not the big arm tall person

Lance was not a QB. Having a strong arm doesn’t make you a QB. Being from ND State should’ve been the clue. Wentz lost his athleticism and now he’s terrible. It’s the same for most running QBs. Learning how to make reads trumps athletic ability.
