Wow that bowl of tendon looked great. And reasonably priced too. We've been to a few great tempura places in Japan but it is hard to find cheap tempura. But it is like great sushi. It is a skill the chef takes a lifetime to perfect so that skill is worth paying for. Te te te ten is somewhere I will try and check out the next time we go to Japan. though. Tempura is one thing I try to make at home occasionally. It is impossible to get it like the Japanese tempura chefs but it is okay. Better than ordinary old fish and chips 😂

Oh man that looks good. I just remember the last tempura restaurant I went to (once again I think it was a chain) in Nishi-Ogikubo? They brought out the tempura as it was fried so you didn't get it all at once (I've been to a similar restaurant in Umeda). The shishito was so spicy that I couldn't feel my tongue or taste anything after I ate it.

These videos are all so well put together, so well edited, it’s really incredible quality for such a new channel. I feel bad saying anything, even intended as constructive criticism… but I thought the music while you were eating and describing the meal was a tiny bit too loud and felt a bit intrusive. I don't quite understand why tempura is considered expensive. Is the batter someway special? It does just look like lightly battered and fried food.

It's all about the deep profound understanding of the batter and temperature of the oil etc... yeah it's pretty tought to get it right.

@@JunkFoodJapan It's a pretty weird concept to me as a westerner, that fried food is expensive. I think it is something that one would need to experience to really understand.
